ASU: Beckham has the highest ceiling, that much I can agree with. And with the unique situation the Rays are in they can probably afford to take a guy who might be a bust. Not saying he will, but the bust factor is much much higher in a guy like Beckham than an Alvarez, Matusz, Wallace, Smoak, etc. If Wallace is there at 14, which I think he will be, I hope the Twins take him.

@fetch: Wallace is a lock in the top 20. I agree that Alvarez is the best hitter in the draft. However, there are concerns about his hand (should be healed and not an issue) and his agent (imagine that).

I would personally take Tim Beckham over anybody. He is a true five tool player. He is not an Upton, but he has the tools to stay at short and become an impact player there (I don’t think a Jeter comp is out of the ordinary).

@ Ark: Don’t know if you’re talking about Hosmer or Beckham. Beckham is a USC recruit, Hosmer I’m not sure. I think both are studs, but I think Alvarez is still the best hitter and right now I’d take Bryan Matusz over anybody.

@ASU: I think Wallace should go top 10, I’m just saying I don’t think he will.
