Game 7: Win Or Stop Talking About How Important Winning Is
NBA, Video May 18th. 2008, 2:15pmBill Simmons did a pretty good job explaining the Celtics’ mindset earlier this week. Basically, they’re a bunch of guys who have never won anything (Except for James Posey of course.) who keep doing interviews where they talk about how important winning is. Why, just this morning I awoke to the site of Kevin Garnett and Bill Russell talking to each other:
Russell envisions KG winning at least 2-3 titles in Boston. (He’s obviously heading down the road to senility – I see 1 as a much more realistic max.) And if he doesn’t win any… he’ll share one of his titles with KG. (Again, doesn’t make much sense.) Wow.
Of course, let’s not think that LeBron is above the puff:
It’s not quite Brad Daugherty telling him there’s always a future in NASCAR coverage, but whatever. (Full disclosure: I have my zip code tattooed on my arm.) I have to say, it was nice to see LBJ’s buddy call him on the third person thing.
Either way, tune in to ABC at 3:30 to see if LeBron puts Akron on the map or Kevin Garnett makes Bill Russell cry tears of sadness or joy. I’ll be back with an update at half-time.

Either a Legend continues to grow (LBJ) or that Choker’s Noose Gets Even Tighter (KG)

In KG’s defense, he’s the only one who has shown up with any regularity. Although, he is the best player on the team, and he should be the one to step up and carry his team.
Where’s Ray Allen been?

That wasn’t MY personal opinion but what I think will be the “Media’s” stance… KG is the ONLY Future 1st-ballot HOF on the Celtics roster

Boston will win if KG growls, barks or howls at least 15 times in the game.
More than 15 jersey pops = blowout victory*
*Oh the game is based on points and not those mentioned above? Sorry

Kg basically needs to shoot someone to get a foul called on him in boston

is it just me or did kg act like he didnt have the time to talk to Mr. Russell. he just seemed like he wanted to get out of there. and also can we stop calling kg a “celtic great”? maybe kg felt uncomfortable about the comparisons to Mr. Russell or like i said he just felt he had waaay more to do than talk to a living legend . im sorry kg but when someone who has won 11 championships…let me say that again…11 CHAMPIONSHIPS! to your 0 rings i dont care how much money you make or how “intense” you are. you drop whatever you are doing and talk to him until he gets done talking. im not a celtics fan but 11 rings? my dad HATES the nba and the only player he ever talks about is Bill Russell. and kg hasnt been a celtic for more than one season so until he is there for at least 5 to 10 years he will be a timberwolfe great not a celtic great.

Were Garnett and Russell in heaven? That music was ridiculous.
