The historic rivalry of the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers is set to resume more than 2 decades after the two teams last met in the Finals! Woo-hoo!

The Celtics outscored the Pistons 29-13 in the 4th quarter and it so it was written. As usual, Paul Pierce led the way for Boston, scoring 27 points and grabbing 8 rebounds. Kevin Garnett had yet another dominating preformance scoring 16 intense points to go along with 6 rebounds. (Excuse me while I chest bump my dog.)

The most important thing for the Celtics has to be the guest appearance by Ray Allen who scored 17 and hit 3-threes. Rajon Rondo (It’s got what plants need) added 11 in the clinching victory.

The story for the Pistons was the absence of scoring from anyone not in the starting back court. Chauncey Billups scored 21 and Rip Hamilton had 29 in defeat. The rest of the Pistons combined for 31 points on 11 of 35 shooting. Not the best example of their “team game.”

The Finals start on Thursday which is probably a good decision for the league. Unless the referees try their darnedest, this game could be wrapping up by Game 5.
