Rays 8, Cubs 3: Well that was fun for Tampa. The Rays swept the best team in baseball and received a token grand slam from Carl Crawford to add to the chaos of a seven-run seven inning. The jury is still out on the Cubbies as the “best team” with three straight road losses. Overall, they’re 16-20 on the road.

Yankees 2, Padres 1: Joba Chamberlain struck out nine in a no-decision and the Yankees finished off a San Diego sweep and their seventh consecutive win. Although hesitant in the locker room postgame, Chamberlain donated a few of his sweat beads so that it might be used to create energy-efficient fuel.

Royals 4, Cardinals 1: That oft-dreamed I-70 series ended in despair for the Cards, with a combined four runs in three games resulting in three Royals victories. I guess that can happen against good young arms and sans Pujols (commence whining accusations). Mark Teahen had three hits, including a three-run homer.

Brewers 8, Blue Jays 7: Dave Bush took a no-hitter into the 8th inning, and eventually gave up a run on two hits. The Milwaukee bullpen nearly blew it, serving a six spot in the 9th, but Salomon Torrres held on to finish off another sweep.

Orioles 7, Astros 5: The Astros lost (eight straight), George Sherrill got the save (24) and Imig wrote about the Orioles defeating the Astros (3rd morning in a row). Yes, it’s another sweep (2nd time Yardwork has been all-sweep in ‘08).
