Yardwork: Sweeps Galore
Baseball June 20th. 2008, 9:00am
Rays 8, Cubs 3: Well that was fun for Tampa. The Rays swept the best team in baseball and received a token grand slam from Carl Crawford to add to the chaos of a seven-run seven inning. The jury is still out on the Cubbies as the “best team” with three straight road losses. Overall, they’re 16-20 on the road.
Yankees 2, Padres 1: Joba Chamberlain struck out nine in a no-decision and the Yankees finished off a San Diego sweep and their seventh consecutive win. Although hesitant in the locker room postgame, Chamberlain donated a few of his sweat beads so that it might be used to create energy-efficient fuel.
Royals 4, Cardinals 1: That oft-dreamed I-70 series ended in despair for the Cards, with a combined four runs in three games resulting in three Royals victories. I guess that can happen against good young arms and sans Pujols (commence whining accusations). Mark Teahen had three hits, including a three-run homer.
Brewers 8, Blue Jays 7: Dave Bush took a no-hitter into the 8th inning, and eventually gave up a run on two hits. The Milwaukee bullpen nearly blew it, serving a six spot in the 9th, but Salomon Torrres held on to finish off another sweep.
Orioles 7, Astros 5: The Astros lost (eight straight), George Sherrill got the save (24) and Imig wrote about the Orioles defeating the Astros (3rd morning in a row). Yes, it’s another sweep (2nd time Yardwork has been all-sweep in ‘08).

Pretty impressive sweeping the Frauds from North Chicago
June 20th, 2008 at 9:10 AM
Imig, I hereby accuse you of whining.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:10 AM
And another inside-the-park HR by Fielder…almost a year to the day since his last one.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:10 AM
@irish,
Frauds would cover the entire National League.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:11 AM
he must use daddy’s accountant. the irs is mad at him.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:12 AM
wait, fielder did? when i saw the highlights i saw him rumble around from first but no inside the park HR.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:12 AM
It’s a “Jump to Conclusions Mat”!
June 20th, 2008 at 9:13 AM
@sparty- i dont follow MLB that much but i know the Cubs suck if they lost three in a row to the Rays. Yeah they got Soriano out and Zambrano. But i thought they were supposed to have the best depth in the MLB. nah
Where is Diesel? come get your cookie
June 20th, 2008 at 9:14 AM
I was at the game in Milwaukee last Sunday and they did a little video thing with some of the Brewers wishing the fans a happy Father’s Day and Fielder was in there…I got some nasty looks when I started laughing and saying “No fucking way is he on this”
June 20th, 2008 at 9:14 AM
it was all because alex rios was too lazy to pick up the ball. did he think he was playing in a public park with holes in the fences. where did he think the ball went?
June 20th, 2008 at 9:15 AM
Sox Cubs shit talking to begin in 3, 2, 1…
June 20th, 2008 at 9:17 AM
so far so good in the Joba to a starter thing. The BP has been outstanding, yes it has been…even Kyle Farnsworth.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:18 AM
@butters: i was watching that game on TV. and some of the players gave happy wishes to their fathers. i knew Fielder wouldn’t be on there and he wasn’t. that’s weird he was wishing happy father’s day at the game. i haven’t heard anything about him and his father reconciling.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:19 AM

and speaking of fraudulent, does anyone else feel like my Yanks 7 game win streak vs NL opponents is a little sketchy?? Please god, I hope not.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:22 AM
The Rays are actually pretty good.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:24 AM
Cardinals are about to start a long slide w/o pujols. I want personally thank the Dbags for getting the Royals off to a good road trip.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:26 AM
@irish: The Rays are 14 games over .500; why is it surprising they’re still beating teams?
June 20th, 2008 at 9:27 AM
@phatjohnson
i said it yesterday, no better way to right your AL ship than playing the NL.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:28 AM
That’s becoming increasingly obvious.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:29 AM
Let me pose a question:
The local sports radio talk show in KC was talking about the possiblity of small market AL teams being in worse position that most because they have to buy ‘another’ hitter instead of batting the pitcher and not having to have that position on the roster. This stemmed from a couple years back when they were thinking about moving the royals to the NL. Is that unfair to small market al teams? Should revenue sharing be more even?
June 20th, 2008 at 9:30 AM
@irish,
we’ll see you in november for ballin…
June 20th, 2008 at 9:31 AM
The owner of the Rays addressed this in the most recent ESPN mag. He said they cannot afford to bring in a vet for more than a couple years to DH.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:31 AM
great stuff St. Bear!!
June 20th, 2008 at 9:31 AM
Ill comment where i want to
@vegas Watch- Cubs fan right?
June 20th, 2008 at 9:31 AM
@sparty – but does that mean on June 30th when we get back to playing the AL… ok, lets make it July 3rd (series vs BOS) since the June 30th series is vs the Rangers… the ship will go back to capsizing and we will be drowning shortly thereafter?
June 20th, 2008 at 9:33 AM
@nwilson: I’d lean towards it not being an issue. DH is the easiest position to fill adequately. There are literally tons of guys in AAA that can hit just fine. Plus even if AL teams spend more on a DH, they can save money by not requiring as many solid bench guys who can play multi-positions, like are required in the NL (on good teams…not the Reds, obviously).
June 20th, 2008 at 9:33 AM
Sparty,
You think he was talking about Griffey?
June 20th, 2008 at 9:34 AM
@nwilson: In my opinion, decent bats are more plentiful than decent pitching. If you’re a small market club, you don’t have to go out and spend $15M on someone like Ortiz, but you could pick up a .270/20/80 guy easily for a million or two.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:35 AM
I’ve just never thought about that before. The aspect of having to spend more money on somebody that can potentially just hit. We’ve got Billy Butler to worry about. Great potential stick, but a huge liability on first. 22 yr old I think. We just don’t know what to do with him if he’s never going to play the field.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:36 AM
All of you guys talk about decent bats being plentiful, but we can’t score more than 2 a game.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:38 AM
@phatjohnson
I don’t think so. The Yanks early struggles had to do with two things: 1. Phil Hughes and Ian Kennedy, and 2. A-Rod and Posada Injuries. No doubt the Wang injury is going to hurt, however, I think they will figure that out. Joba is looking damn good and I think will stretch his start out more. The offense is good, it just is. Does this mean they will catch the Rays or the Sox? idk, both those teams are damn good.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:38 AM
Anyone know the AL vs NL record is so far this year?
June 20th, 2008 at 9:40 AM
I am not sure if he was talking about Griff. I remember that answer, but trying to remember what the exact question was.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:45 AM
I’m not a huge baseball fan but shouldn’t have Fielder’s inside-the-park HR been scored a double and and a two-base error? I mean Rios just stopped.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:46 AM
@sparty – f’n Hughes and Kennedy… i wish they could pitch in real life like they do in MLB2k8 for X360. That would be fantastic!
June 20th, 2008 at 9:46 AM
@irish: The Rays are 14 games over .500; why is it surprising they’re still beating teams?
i was surprised they swept the Cubs. From all the comments i read from clowns like Vegas WAtch and Diesel, i thought they would be better than that. But yep, i dont know baseball. Shhhhiiiiiiiiitttttttt. I just dont comment like i do in ballin
June 20th, 2008 at 9:46 AM
Wow, what the hell happened to the NL? All that chatter about the NL closing the gap in the Interleague games has vanished. The AL just continues to feast on NL pitching.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:47 AM
Fucking cardinals. 4 GD runs in 3 games. Against the fucking Royals. At home. Pathetic.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:47 AM
@pharmanimal – that was my immediate thought and then I realized that Fielder is about 90 pounds overweight and I felt bad for the big guy so I scored it (at home) an inside the park homer.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:48 AM
this small market whining is getting old and it always comes from the same source: kansas city. sure, boston won two of the last three world series. but small market teams have won more than “big market” teams this decade. small market in terms of the baseball market, not the size of the city.
just how many world series this century have the yankees, dodgers and cubs won? the biggest whiners is the kansas city crowd. always bellyaching about the yankees. rather than blame that wal-mart owners of theirs, they bitch and moan about how they live in a cowtown.
pittsburgh is in the same boat and their fans (the few that are left) are crucifying ownership, not baseball. it’s not what you do with a checkbook but how you develop talent and make wise trades for role players.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:49 AM
Astro-Boneitis still going strong… seriously people get your self checked if you’ve played us in the past few weeks.
/pukes.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:49 AM
I don’t know much about the Royals (because I live in the Northeast and ESPN never carries their games), but I was looking at their stats on Baseball-Reference.com. A lot of your guys can hit decently, but there aren’t many walks or HR. KC is 4th in the league in H, 2B, 3B and 7th in BA, but 13th in R, OBP, and OPS. It’s like they were put together by the anti-Billy Beane.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:50 AM
Alright jimmy your fired. Two days, two references to walmart and cowtown. What are you really angry about? Were here to listen buddy.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:51 AM
But that would make sense because power is expensive in the league and you’re going to pay a premium for it.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:51 AM
Anti billy beane. I love it. We just get people on base, then have to have 3 singles to get them in. no power, other than Guillen.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:52 AM
Hey Tampa or KC, call the Mets and ask about Delgado
June 20th, 2008 at 9:53 AM
FYI.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:55 AM
@nwilson: And if they don’t walk often, than if they’re not hitting, they’re not getting on base. Plus, I’d be willing to bet that pitchers go deeper into games against KC if they’re not working the count.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:56 AM
nick, what would i do without you. You love to debate as much as me
asked them to rank the competitors based on six criteria: speed; vision and reflex; stamina and recovery; coordination and flexibility; power, strength and size; and success and competitiveness.
obviously they didnt test success
June 20th, 2008 at 9:59 AM
You got it bear. New manager from freaking Japan, so were working it out. I’m still happy with the results. Just one real bad I think 14 game losing streak, or we’d be close to .500. We don’t expect much here.
@ tedkerwin-you keep delgado, I mean we’ve already tried juan gonzalez a couple years ago. sure don’t need any other bums.
June 20th, 2008 at 9:59 AM
@irish – success shouldn’t be weighted as heavily as the other criteria, no matter what you think.
June 20th, 2008 at 10:00 AM
@irish: He’s been a ginormous failure. I agree. He’s only been able to drag human garbage to 1 Finals so far. Don’t worry — he’ll get at least 12 more.
June 20th, 2008 at 10:03 AM
@nick p- i was joking with you on the success. Trust me, i know how good he is. I just like to remind you who is better than him.
@phatjohnson- good to see you hanging out. Go Bills

June 20th, 2008 at 10:07 AM
anyone see the SI player poll that said Derek Jeter is the most overrated player, and A-Rod is number 7. But a few weeks back, an SI player poll stated they would start a team around Jeter and A-Rod 1 and 2. wtf?
June 20th, 2008 at 10:07 AM
Inside the park home run by Feilder?!?? Did he just tuck in his arms and legs a la Sonic the Hedgehog and roll his fat ass around the bases?
June 20th, 2008 at 10:08 AM
August, the O’s would prefer to play you and the Royals for the rest of the season, since we own both of you.
Great game last night, another come from behind win, Sherrill with his 24th save, Roberts robbing Miggy, this team has got me excited.
Diesel and Sportsgal, watch out, the O’s are coming to Wrigley next week.

June 20th, 2008 at 10:14 AM
Go Rays…amazingly my husband and stepson got home from all-star practice just in time for the 7th inning….

Frankly I wasn’t expecting much from that series, I don’t remember ever saying anything about the Rays even though you seem to think I did. I haven’t been around much lately.
Getting swept hurts, but the best I was hoping for was to win one, which they should have last night. Rays have the 2nd best home record in the majors and the Cubs are under .500 on the road and don’t have Soriano. I can’t believe the Rays are finally a good team.
June 20th, 2008 at 10:31 AM
No. Not even close.
The Rays swept the Red Sox at home in April, do they suck too?
June 20th, 2008 at 10:32 AM
@diesel- im just joshing with ya. I saw what you said to your boy Robinson yesterday and thought it was hilarious. Im starting to follow MLB now that my Canes got knocked out and that NBA is gone. I hate MLB
June 20th, 2008 at 10:33 AM
@vegas watch- Boston is still 2 games ahead. Check the standings genius. you were backing up Chicago Cubs yesterday i know that
June 20th, 2008 at 10:33 AM
excuse me, 1.5 games back from the REd Sox
June 20th, 2008 at 10:34 AM
The reason the Cubs lost that game is because Lou Pinella is a fucking moron when it comes to his bullpen. If you rest a guy like Carlos Marmol for four days so you can bring in NEAL FUCKING COTTS, then you get a 7th inning like the one you had last night. Marmol almost hit Derrek Lee when he was warming up!
June 20th, 2008 at 10:35 AM
You said the Cubs must suck if they got swept by the Rays. That was a dumb thing to say. This isn’t a complex argument.
June 20th, 2008 at 10:37 AM
@irish
I’m a Cubs fan, but it doesn’t mean much to be backing the Cubs/Fukudome when some genius is saying that Grandersuck is better than he is.
June 20th, 2008 at 10:38 AM
sportsgal,
the one with a WS rings as a manager and player is the moron…riiiiiggght.
June 20th, 2008 at 10:39 AM
Also, wait, so the Red Sox don’t suck because, even though the Rays swept them, they are ahead in the standings, but the Cubs suck because they got swept by the Rays even though they’re ahead of the rays and tied with the Red Sox?
June 20th, 2008 at 10:40 AM
i love how cubs fans question the stragey of their manager who has won something, when none of them have seen what it takes to win a world series.
June 20th, 2008 at 10:40 AM
@wood- wtf are you talking about? who said what about Granderson? not me
im just bored and trying to get comments on this weak Yardwork
June 20th, 2008 at 10:41 AM
the red sox suck.
June 20th, 2008 at 10:41 AM
SG is feisty this week, even Sweet Lou cannot avoid the wrath
June 20th, 2008 at 10:41 AM
nm…yesterday some other commenter was ripping on Fukudome b/c he said granderson was better.
June 20th, 2008 at 10:41 AM
I love when people act as if having a ring on your finger makes you some kind of genius.
June 20th, 2008 at 10:42 AM
@wegotwood- how many times have you played Pittsburgh huh? yeah that is where most of your wins came from
June 20th, 2008 at 10:42 AM
Sparty, do you watch the Cubs? Do you know anything about Carlos Marmol or Neal Cotts or Michael Wuertz? Apparently, you also have a difficult time grasping the English language – I said Lou’s a moron when it comes to his bullpen. Key word in that sentence being “bullpen.”
June 20th, 2008 at 10:44 AM
RumealRobinson was making the Granderson argument.
Sparty we know what it takes to win a WS, not having Dusty Baker as a manager is the first step.
June 20th, 2008 at 10:46 AM
i know the cubs never win anything, thats all i need to know.
June 20th, 2008 at 10:47 AM
Irish they can’t help how the schedule plays out. They took care of business against a team they should handle.
June 20th, 2008 at 10:48 AM
yes, because lou doesn’t know how to use a BP…Dribble, Myers and Charlton proved that in the world series.
June 20th, 2008 at 10:48 AM
I love how people say they love someone or what someone does, but they really don’t.
June 20th, 2008 at 10:51 AM
I love “When a Man Loves a Woman.”
June 20th, 2008 at 10:53 AM
@irish
ok…I got pissed about this yesterday. It’s a pretty bad argument:
The Cubs are 9-3 against the Pirates. Without those games, the Cubs overall record is 36-25 which is still a good record. Without those games the Pirates record is 31-30. So basically the Cubs are still a pretty good team and the Pirates are a winning team without those games.
It would be a more effective argument for a team like the White Sox. The only other team over .500 in their division is the Twins, who are 1 game above.
June 20th, 2008 at 10:54 AM
I hate that the Orioles are in by far the best division in baseball, where 37-34 has them in fourth place.
June 20th, 2008 at 10:55 AM
I love that Sparty is a bandwagon New York Giants fan and thinks he knows what teams need to do to win a championship.
June 20th, 2008 at 10:56 AM
Well, no. It’s not really an effective argument for any team in the AL.
June 20th, 2008 at 10:56 AM
I love this new, badass version of sportsgal, and that the Twins are in one of their good streaks.

June 20th, 2008 at 10:57 AM

June 20th, 2008 at 10:57 AM
I love lamp.
June 20th, 2008 at 10:57 AM
it sucks that the O’s are having a good year at the same time as the Rays. Especially because it seems like the O’s year is a little more of a fluke and Tampa might have more talent over the long run.
June 20th, 2008 at 10:58 AM
In 3 years, first and second in the AL East will be O’s, Rays, yeah I said it.
June 20th, 2008 at 11:00 AM
Right. I forgot teams never play teams in other divisions. And that the AL Central is doing so horribly in interleague.
June 20th, 2008 at 11:00 AM
@irish
Haha, nice. I’d forgotten about that. I get defensive when people rip the Cubs.
June 20th, 2008 at 11:00 AM
hmm, bandwagon, season ticket holder, but bandwagon…
June 20th, 2008 at 11:01 AM
A little. Might.
I’m not even trying to be a dick, but those two teams aren’t even in the same conversation, regardless of whether we’re talking about 2008 or 2009-2012.
June 20th, 2008 at 11:02 AM
know your facts sweetheart.
June 20th, 2008 at 11:02 AM
I have a winning record against the NL. The fact that these teams have negative records against other divisions goes to prove my point. The AL Central sucks just slightly less than the NL West.
June 20th, 2008 at 11:04 AM
i do not speak with blasphemy on your tongue. It is the World Champion New York Football Giants. The way you said it is like saying god, instead of God.
June 20th, 2008 at 11:04 AM
im sorry for saying the Cubs suck. That was a poor choice of words. The Cubs are average, there ya go. NBA > MLB
June 20th, 2008 at 11:05 AM
vegas is ornery today. I think someone broke his TI-82.
June 20th, 2008 at 11:06 AM
Right. Exactly. This is the whole point. He said that it would be easier to make a case against the White Sox than against the Cubs. Which it isn’t because one plays in the AL and one in the NL.
June 20th, 2008 at 11:07 AM
Did he not like the TI-85 upgrade (I didn’t either, but I’m curious about his views on this subject)?
June 20th, 2008 at 11:07 AM
This is starting to remind me of Ballin. It feels so good!
June 20th, 2008 at 11:07 AM
@Hef – I will bet you right now on June 20 that by the end of the season, the AL Central will not be considered the weakest in the American League. One of the following will occur: either the Wild Card comes from the AL Central or the division winner has a better record than the AL West champ (or possibly Boston although I doubt that one).
June 20th, 2008 at 11:07 AM
Right, because you’ve been a Giants fan and season ticket holder your whole life. Douche bag.
My right as a baseball fan is to call Lou Pinella a moron when he does something moronic like start Neal Cotts over Carlos Marmol, then go to Marmol after he hasn’t played for 5 days.
June 20th, 2008 at 11:08 AM
The most literal minded commenter on the site. Perhaps we could give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he was saying within the league in which they play? Is that too much of a stretch?
June 20th, 2008 at 11:08 AM
The Ti-85 was full of teh ghey.
June 20th, 2008 at 11:08 AM
Of course I agree with this. I always agree to stupid bets. Ask TBL.
June 20th, 2008 at 11:09 AM
Vegas, are you disrespecting the Orioles?
June 20th, 2008 at 11:09 AM
The AL Wild card is definitely coming from the AL East.
June 20th, 2008 at 11:09 AM
Or, maybe you could have understood the point and not felt the need to fix my comment? Is that too much of a stretch?
June 20th, 2008 at 11:10 AM
Go back and check the archives. Ballin was tame in December. It’s June, people are just starting to get worked up about their teams. No use blowing your wad in April.
June 20th, 2008 at 11:10 AM
I’m a Twins fan and even I realize how bad the AL Central is.
June 20th, 2008 at 11:10 AM
Sorry, I have a need to antagonize extra douchey commenters. It’s a weakness.
June 20th, 2008 at 11:13 AM
you are right, previously they were my fathers. in fact they are still in his name but i pay for them. but i shell out 5000 gs a year for a team that i ride the bandwagon for…this coming from the Red Wing fan who lives in one of their biggest rivals city….
June 20th, 2008 at 11:13 AM

My point was that people are saying that the Cubs have a good record because they beat up on a bad team (the pirates are pretty bad, I’m not contesting that) but even if you don’t count those games, the Cubs have a pretty good record.
I made the comparison to the White Sox because their entire division is under .500 with the exception of the twins (who were under .500 as of two days ago), and you could argue that they would be bad if they didn’t play, well, any team in their division.
The more annoying problem is the wildly unbalanced schedule that MLB has put into place now that they don’t have the old grandparents doing it by hand.

I would plead the fifth instead of incriminating myself, but if you want to enter that into evidence of your own douchebaggery, fine by me.
June 20th, 2008 at 11:24 AM
Ugh..c’mon people, it’s Friday for pete’s sake!!
June 20th, 2008 at 11:25 AM
and i love NICKELBACK!
June 20th, 2008 at 11:27 AM
Vegas Watch – do you live in Atlanta?
June 20th, 2008 at 11:27 AM
I do not like the unbalanced schedules. I miss seeing the Blue Jays, who the Tigers had a huge rivalry with in the 1980’s, and the Yankers, Red Sox and Orioles. Before the split to 3 divisions, when the Tigers were in the AL East, these teams were ones the Tigers played all the time.
However, the unbalanced schedule does give teams like my Tigers that got off to a horrible start a good chance at getting back into the division race because they play all of the teams ahead of them so many times. This would also apply to the Yanks this year.

Bob Brenly has a World Series ring courtesy of the Arizona Diamondbacks. And there is no one on My green earth who thinks Brenly was a good manager. He lucked into Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling and that was that.
June 20th, 2008 at 11:32 AM
Agreed. Bob Brenly=Doc Rivers.
June 20th, 2008 at 11:43 AM
Both are good announcers as well
June 20th, 2008 at 11:55 AM
That’s another fair point,
June 20th, 2008 at 11:57 AM
and pinella sucks as an announcer, kept trying to steal psycho lyons wallet…
June 20th, 2008 at 12:00 PM
Sparty, was that the “hispanic” incident?
June 20th, 2008 at 12:02 PM
sparty..late to the party but you are such front runner.
(I don’t think a certain young lady realizes that there is a 35 year waiting list for Giant season tickets and that they are willed from father to son)
June 20th, 2008 at 12:08 PM
guy I work with put his name on the waiting list…told him he would be lucky to see his 8 year olds sons kids get the tickets…
June 20th, 2008 at 12:10 PM
OK, then I’ll take back the bandwagon comment, but sparty’s still a fucking douche bag who doesn’t know shit about the Cubs or Lou Pinella’s managing abilities. But please, continue to call me “sweetheart” because you having a penis automatically makes you more knowledgeable on Cubs baseball than me.
June 20th, 2008 at 12:10 PM
Michigan State Football rules…front runner my ass…
June 20th, 2008 at 12:11 PM
sparty..I have my uncle’s seats…I am number 64832 on the waiting list…I have been on the list since I was 12…I am 30…I call every year to update the number, the ticket office said…that pretty much every season ticket holder would have to give up their seats before I get mine…they lose an average of 100 people a year.
June 20th, 2008 at 12:12 PM
Now you are catching on.
June 20th, 2008 at 12:13 PM
how many of us have had threats this week from SG regarding our penis or balls?
June 20th, 2008 at 12:15 PM
I haven’t threatened to do anything to your penis or balls sparty, but I can add you to the list if you’d like.
June 20th, 2008 at 12:17 PM
He batter not be higher than #2..I am starting to wear that position with pride
June 20th, 2008 at 12:19 PM

June 20th, 2008 at 12:24 PM

June 20th, 2008 at 12:27 PM
Aw, how touching…
June 20th, 2008 at 12:35 PM
Sportsgal threatened my taint.
June 20th, 2008 at 12:41 PM
Sportsgal, if you were my wife, I’d give you the “phatjohnson special”.
June 20th, 2008 at 1:36 PM
I can’t wait for a month from now after the Cubs collapse, are no longer relevent and have no reason to be discussed in this space.
June 20th, 2008 at 1:47 PM
Good luck with that Sandos
June 20th, 2008 at 2:06 PM
@sportsgal116:
Can I call you sweetheart? Not that I would without your permissions, because that is harassment and wrong.
Ugh, never mind – this wouldn’t end well. We’ll just keep it the way it is – I call you sportsgal116 and you call Me Jesus [expletive deleted but rhymes with bucking] Christ.
Deal?
June 20th, 2008 at 2:19 PM
the White Sox pummel the Pirates and score 37 runs over 3 games and complete the sweep and we don’t get a mention? I mean.. We’re talking about sweeps here right.. That was one hell of a sweep if you ask me.. I mean, I know it was the Pirates, but still… Also, Sportsgal, you are probably the most level headed and intelligent Cubs fans I’ve encountered in a while, so keep up the good work. I find too many cubs fans who are cubs fans “ummmm cuz.” with that said, go sox this weekend.. Should be a fun series.
June 20th, 2008 at 2:36 PM
I’m only a Cubs fan cause I like to wear my Fukudome t-shirt jersey to Wrigley and drink a lot of Bud Light
