PM Roundup: So… Swearing is… Good?
Baseball, Hockey, Kickball, NBA, UFC, Video Games June 24th. 2008, 3:40pm
I’m (That’s right – I speak in the first person singular so there is no confusion about who whom* I’m speaking on behalf of.) trying to put all my thoughts together about this whole circle jerk of a situation, but I keep getting so overcome with rage that I have to walk away from my computer.
Anyway, I just wanted to say that I am rededicating myself to swear words and Godzilla Biscuits. I don’t care how big I become. Oh, yeah… Here’s Kelly Brook.
Who cares what this guy says? He’s just another blogger who is selling out and* swearing less. (Dave Lozo Dot Com)
Where are they now? Moneyball edition. (Major League Jerk)
Kobe stayed at the same hotel in Cabo that Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson did! (SPORTS by BROOKS)
Zombie kickball. (Steady Burn)
Chinese South Africans are now considered black. Legally. (BBC News)
The new UFC video game. (MMAjunkie.com)
The new iPhone is sexist. (LA Times) (Trouble makers)
Thierry Henry will play in Steve Nash’s pickup game. (NY Times)
Barry Melrose is the new coach of the Tamba Bay Lightning. Sounds like old news… (The Big Lead)
Sparked by this ESPN story, a blogger remembers Len Bias. (Opinion Popcorn)

Better Kelly Brook (NSFW)
June 24th, 2008 at 3:43 PM
If I don’t know who this is, does that make me gay?
June 24th, 2008 at 3:44 PM
No, Hef – the fact that you like to bang doods makes you gay.
June 24th, 2008 at 3:48 PM
i’m a smallville fan, i remember kelly brook from the 1st season.
June 24th, 2008 at 3:51 PM
yes clown, that is better. Thank you.
June 24th, 2008 at 3:52 PM
It’s quiet. Either everyone is in the politics post or they went back to sportswriters.com
June 24th, 2008 at 3:53 PM
or maybe they are looking at Sean Avery pics.
June 24th, 2008 at 3:54 PM
sorry, i was at mgoblog and i had to keep looking up words in the dictionary to see what they meant.
June 24th, 2008 at 3:54 PM
Nice round up pic crm. Clown’s is better though.
June 24th, 2008 at 3:55 PM
Everybody is trying to regroup. I was just gathering all of my stones that I’m going to throw so I can be prepared for somebody calling ME out too.
June 24th, 2008 at 3:56 PM
nwilson26 – you’re a Royals fan. You’re safe.
June 24th, 2008 at 3:57 PM
Yikes. Never heard of her, which is something I regret very much.
June 24th, 2008 at 3:57 PM
some of us might have been working. ah, who am i kidding? we know that’s not true.
June 24th, 2008 at 3:59 PM
This blog fight reeks of a pissing contest where all the contestants suffer from weak stream.

June 24th, 2008 at 3:59 PM
swearing is great!!!
June 24th, 2008 at 3:59 PM
Wait, all you people have jobs?
June 24th, 2008 at 4:00 PM
Not for long with this economy!
/TBL
June 24th, 2008 at 4:01 PM
if by job you mean, a place that i go to that pays me to hang out for 8 hours per day, then yea, i got a job.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:01 PM
Nope, I’m in summer school
June 24th, 2008 at 4:02 PM
I’m a state employee. So I pretty much do what Spencer does.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:02 PM
Nice Knockers and I haven’t seen pink-nipples since the gay-chick from Sex in the City
June 24th, 2008 at 4:02 PM
yeah, i got me a G O B.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:02 PM
Melrose better win…I still think he is a dick for all his comments during the Lightning’s run to the Stanley Cup. How the Flyers would cream us and he was so far up Jerome Ingenlis(sp) ass and the Calgary Flames and how Canada needed the Cup to come back home because how dare it go to Florida. Someone please gang tackle him and shave his head. Okay, all better now.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:02 PM
CRM don’t count us out yet. 8 of 9. If this continues (insert joke here) then I will surely get to big for me’ britches and start calling out some big market teams and need those stones.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:03 PM
damn spencer, we got the same job.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:03 PM
Ahhh, for a second benji made me consider the possibility you all did, but I was clearly mistaken. Employment is for losers.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:03 PM
Well I’m a federal employee so i do less than people that actually stay at home and do nothing.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:04 PM
@nwilson. It’s probably about time to start those KC to the NL talks if you want that streak to continue. Oh wait, you get to play the cards again this weekend. fuck.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:06 PM
i listen to sports radio all day long while reading sports blogs. and i listen to my ipod during commercials. then at the end of the day, i bill my time to the jobs with the largest budgets. or company time.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:06 PM
I’ve been out all day. Is Ufford that ashamed the corporate website he works for can’t attract hits? What set him off today? MSM vs Blogs is boring enough. Last thing we need is Blog vs Blog silliness.
“Keep my name out of your mouth.” KSK
Good holy comedy. I think the last time I heard anyone say that was in 8th grade.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:06 PM
I’ve been plotting on you arkbadger. I mean the Cards. I think it’s finishing off the rockies with Greinke on the hill tonight then the Cards then were probably done, but it is sure fun while it lasts. It’s an awful lot of prosperity for royals fans to handle, but as everybody can see were still 9 under .500, so our prosperity is a little different than most.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:07 PM
That’s a great job Benji, I salute you.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:07 PM
NWilson26 -
Do you work for The Federal Reserve? I’ve got a buddy working there. Hell, you might be him for all I know.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:07 PM
that’s not technically stealing, is it?
June 24th, 2008 at 4:08 PM
There’s a real bees nest over there KC, but if someone hundreds of miles away says “fuck you” – do you really hear it?
June 24th, 2008 at 4:08 PM
@KC Res: was it Dr. Dre?
June 24th, 2008 at 4:09 PM
Pujols is supposed to be coming back on Thursday, so hopefully we can put up more than that impressive 4 run total like we did in the previous series. Are you going to any of the games this weekend?
June 24th, 2008 at 4:09 PM
KC Res: Social Security
June 24th, 2008 at 4:10 PM
I wanted too believe me. I live about 40 minutes away, but have baseball games Saturday (double header) and one on Sunday at 5pm. I don’t miss those, so it looks as if I’m going to be missing.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:11 PM
As long as the billing goes through it’s their own damn fault Benji.
Milk that shit!
June 24th, 2008 at 4:12 PM
Benji – Back when I was in 8th grade, Dre was with NWA. I got the Dre Day in high school or college.
Fluffy – Yeah, I just read that. It appears commenters on both sites would rather the situation disapearedededed, however.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:12 PM
not having a job is teh tits since i never have to get up early, but teh gay since i have no money.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:14 PM
money > no money
June 24th, 2008 at 4:14 PM
KC – Not Shanoff, but since he prob had the most hits ever today that’s not saying much.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:15 PM
@nwilson. How hard is it to get tickets up there? I looked on the website and they are pretty much sold out for saturdays game but I was thinking about heading that way anyways. Is there usually a lot of scalpers out before games?
June 24th, 2008 at 4:16 PM
Family Fun Trips starting at $150 to go to FORT WAYNE, INDIANA!?!?!?!?
no fuckin’ way.
/better than Chinese Mail-Brides tho.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:16 PM
Mo Money Mo Problems Fetch
June 24th, 2008 at 4:17 PM
Did Sabathia get traded yet?
Must beat dead horse.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:17 PM
You know, I like Lozo. Funny blog, interesting perspectives, but that post seemed like the same way bloggers used to pick apart Simmons line by line back in the old days.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:17 PM
It’s not hard. holds 39k, and last night they had 12k. weekdays and fridays are no big deal at all. Saturdays are the only day that they are more crowded. I believe last saturday was sold out. Don’t try to get the Cards games though. Those and the Yankees are always sold out opening sales day. Other than that it’s just free game man.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:18 PM
fetch, just get at that cougar from the library. she’s probably got money.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:19 PM
amen to that yysa. fortunately im too young to need to spend money on anything too huge.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:21 PM
I was in a meeting most of the afternoon. Can I get the Cliffs Notes version of today’s blog meltdown?
June 24th, 2008 at 4:21 PM
fetch if you ever get bored, and are on a limited budget, apparently you can take a trip to Fort Wayne for $150… sounds like fun i guess.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:22 PM
haha benji, for one i already called her, thanks for the publicity, dick.
/not sincere
and I’d have to get paid 150 to go to fort wayne I think.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:25 PM
Hell of a post written by Lozo. I enjoyed it.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:26 PM
any pub is good pub man. i’ve been through indiana a few times. once we decided to stop to get food in indy at almost 2:30 in the morning. all they had was white castle. not good times.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:27 PM
um…FUCKIN’ SLIDERS DUDE!!!
seriously, i could eat white castle at any meal, any day and be happy. i want them to cater my wedding.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:31 PM
the place was just extremely dirty. you know there nasty shit all throughout the food. but wedding white castle does sound delicious. no one wants filet or a nice chicken dish. go for sliders.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:31 PM
And then the entire wedding party will spend the night on the shitter.
White Castle is the best mistake you can ever make. It tastes amazing, but you’ll pay for it somehow.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:33 PM
Best way I ever heard of eating a White Castle is to just take it, roll it in a ball and flush it right down the toilet. Saves you a lot of time and energy.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:34 PM
Damn, I have never understood how people actually eat white castle and enjoy it.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:35 PM
@hawkeye: lol.
see, Italians can digest anything and it pretty much won’t make them sick. at least that’s what i’ve found.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:35 PM
Hawkeye, you just made me laugh after a frustrating day. I think TBL might be passed out from the goose by now.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:39 PM
if loving white castle is wrong, i dont wanna be right.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:44 PM
And that, friends, is why spencer will never close the deal.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:46 PM
You know what I like to eat? No, not manna (kind of dry).
Grilled cheese and tomato soup. And you dunk the sandwich in the soup. Heavenly.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:47 PM
I agree with Jesus(never thought I would say that)..
June 24th, 2008 at 4:48 PM
@ Jesus
I thought it was fish and loaves of bread.
June 24th, 2008 at 4:50 PM
Because of this I now accept him as my savior
June 24th, 2008 at 4:50 PM
I would love to see that conversation between two betrotheds.
“And I was thinking for dinner, we’d have chicken or fish. I hear the hall makes a great salmon.”
“Actually honey, I was thinking of White Castle. Have you tried their new burgers? They have like 3 or 4 different flavors so everyone is happy. Plus, if we make give everyone a Meal Deal, they’ll give us a discount. Honey? Why are you crying? Don’t flip me off. Where are you going”
June 24th, 2008 at 4:52 PM
Hey, so, anyone have any opinions on Jason McIntyre? we’re running short on them today. Thank god it’s only Tuesday. Tomorrow, we can quote Carlin (still not over it) and say, “HSIOW — Holy Shit, It’s Only Wednesday.”
June 24th, 2008 at 4:58 PM
Still not over it either. I’ve been burning up Youtube this week.
June 24th, 2008 at 5:02 PM
Welcome to the flock, My children.
Not My literal children, but – whatever.
I like fish (particularly salmon) and loaves (love Me some brioche or a nice ciabatta), but a perfectly cooked grill cheese gets Me every time. It can be any cheese – cheddar (not the Kraft single slices, but good cheddar) or provolone or colby or gouda. It has to be wheat bread, though.
June 24th, 2008 at 5:03 PM
@Jesus: That’s a perfect lunch for Friday’s during Lent.
So this means you actually pay attention to those rules?
June 24th, 2008 at 5:04 PM
And that is when I sin
June 24th, 2008 at 8:05 PM
Dear lord – everyone (TBL, Leitch, Ufford, that Dave Lozo guy, commenters, me, you, whoever) just needs to get over themselves on this.
As much as I hate to say it, Leitch had a great followup in today’s edition of “Last Week Bridge Burning”. So fucking what if someone doesn’t like what you said? That’s part of the game.
The one salient point from Leitch – McIntyre purported to speak for all sports bloggers, and that was bullshit. Other than that, who gives a fuck?
June 24th, 2008 at 9:00 PM
I just read this crap: http://deadspin.com/5019137/someone-hates-you-online-try-not-to-be-offended
Will Leitch is a douchebag. Deadspin, and Gawker for that matter, rose the ranks by stepping on others they, for some reason, felt entitled to cut down. They’re not edgy. They’re being negative for the sake of being negative. Like a bunch of snooty high school chicks trying to preserve their “in crowd”
June 24th, 2008 at 10:17 PM
you about ready to believe me yet? fresno st is up 15-6 in the 6th inning!!!
June 24th, 2008 at 10:27 PM
The entire Gawker network is propped up by Gizmodo and Kotaku anyways…so videogamers and gadget geeks pay the bills for deadspin.
