Euro 2008 Final: Spain vs. Germany
Soccer June 29th. 2008, 3:08pm
Oh man! Why didn’t anyone tell me the game started at 2:30? I would try a live-blog, but I’m not going to pretend that I know any of the names. I will however update whenever there is a score. (Hello, afternoon off!)
We join the game, roughly 20 minutes in, with the score predictively surprisingly knotted at nil-nil.
Spain hasn’t won the Euro Championship in 44 years – Germany in 12 years. One of those droughts ends today!
Feel free to complain about the lack of quality touches in the comments.

Slow first 20 mins, and then Torres surprisingly out-leapt a few Germans for a header that hit the post.
Torres has looked good so far … no David Villa, so more pressure on Torres to score

TORRES GOAL!!!
1-0
Madrid goes mad!
June 29th, 2008 at 3:19 PM
CAN YOU HEAR THE DRUMS FERNANDO!
June 29th, 2008 at 3:21 PM
wow, Spain really pushing forward and David Villa mis-hit a WIDE OPEN shot in the box … that could have been 2-0 …

Mole – How badly was Lahm burned there? absolutely roasted …
looks like Ballack has a huge cut on his eyebrow, he’s off the field for a minute
June 29th, 2008 at 3:23 PM
Fernando Torres has “the Midas touch”
June 29th, 2008 at 3:24 PM
lahm is like ramos on the left, great at pushing forward, super suspect in defense.
the strides to get past him, just incredible. and thats why hes the best striker in the world.
ballack looks fucked up ma

June 29th, 2008 at 3:46 PM

June 29th, 2008 at 3:50 PM

June 29th, 2008 at 3:51 PM

June 29th, 2008 at 3:55 PM
no money on the game here … i would have bet germany, probably
I think Lahm went off at the half to get a jump start on the witness protection program
June 29th, 2008 at 3:59 PM
After Spain’s goal I bet on Germany to win, at 10 to 1. Before the game I bet on the score, 3-2 either way at 20 to 1 (Not looking good)

June 29th, 2008 at 4:10 PM
oh what a save by Lehman!
Ramos had a point-blank header!
“why don’t you just hand them a goal, lads?”
June 29th, 2008 at 4:11 PM
damn, Inesta with a rip … Spain much more complete of a team than many claimed, and this is all without their best scorer
June 29th, 2008 at 4:14 PM
Germany offense looks v sluggish
June 29th, 2008 at 4:17 PM
Oh wow.
Philly TV just put a giant thunderstorm weather watch across the bottom 1/4 of the screen.
June 29th, 2008 at 4:21 PM
still think torres should retire from internationals. another example of him being treated like shit
June 29th, 2008 at 4:24 PM
senna WITH THE WHIFF!!!!!!!!
June 29th, 2008 at 4:24 PM
Aragones is leaving after this game, and he’s the one treating Torres (and Fabregas) like shit
June 29th, 2008 at 4:26 PM

June 29th, 2008 at 4:26 PM

June 29th, 2008 at 4:32 PM

June 29th, 2008 at 4:35 PM

June 29th, 2008 at 4:36 PM
BOOM BITCHES
June 29th, 2008 at 4:37 PM
44 million, 44 years of hurt are over!
Spain are the kings of Europe, again!
June 29th, 2008 at 4:53 PM
44 years? Spain hasn’t been the king of Europe since the Spanish Armada was defeated by the British in 1589. That’s like 400+ years. Nice try though.
June 29th, 2008 at 4:53 PM
Jesus Christ. WCVB in Boston cut out from the game when Lehman handled the ball outside of the box for a storm warning half way across the state, and now just cut away again, missing Spain lift the trophy. Utterly ridiculous.

was that the pirates of the caribbean theme I just heard? or the theme from master and commander?
