Though we’re not familiar with his work, here’s a strong piece from John Walters at NBC Sports, calling for Charlie Weis to comment on Spygate. We know, we know – Spygate is so last year, and yes, this story is more tired than Shaq’s lazy eye.

Tuna Jr.’s only comments to date came 10 months ago: “Weis: I’m glad I’m not involved in that scenario at this time (laughter). Though I have placed a couple of phone calls that said, “You brightened up my day and brought a smile to my face.” But other than that, I’m not touching that one with a 10-foot pole.”

Good luck with this, Notre Dame media corps. Ask the question of risk getting the ice treatment from Weis – and the new AD? – for the entire season. How about ESPN’s Schlabach? He threw the Irish a bone by ranking them 25th (which was laughable); perhaps that earned him enough brownie points to get Weis on-the-record about Spygate?

Weis needs to come forward, discuss Spygate (NBC Sports)
