everyone is still sleeping from going to bed at 2am.
July 16th, 2008 at 8:14 AM
Kim K makes it back into a roundup, but not in a photo. Disappointing.
July 16th, 2008 at 8:14 AM
I didnt watch. played NCAA Football 09 instead.
July 16th, 2008 at 8:20 AM
ugh, very tired today. they need to move it to a 6pm game on a Sunday.
July 16th, 2008 at 8:20 AM
it has been 2 years now since i last played NCAA or Madden.
July 16th, 2008 at 8:22 AM
Me too. My 2 year old son has no interest in watching me play video games. He must have gotten that from his mother.
July 16th, 2008 at 8:22 AM
that was exactly my reason.
July 16th, 2008 at 8:23 AM
Didn’t watch – was in bed by 11. Don’t regret it for one second.
Is Billy Wagner going to be a little more hospitable today?
July 16th, 2008 at 8:23 AM
How was NCAA 09 ?
July 16th, 2008 at 8:23 AM
I bailed in the 8th inning. Also eager to hear about NCAA 09
July 16th, 2008 at 8:24 AM
Blazers, how is it? is there any new cool features this year?
July 16th, 2008 at 8:25 AM
I play when the kids are in bed…
July 16th, 2008 at 8:27 AM
Best part of game was watching Papel-blown fall flat on his face (with help from one-time Yanke Navarro) and then Mo Rivera showing him how it’s done! haha!
July 16th, 2008 at 8:30 AM
I stopped playing the NCAA/Madden games in 2006. Nothing changes from year to year except the rosters and silly added features. The game remains the same.
July 16th, 2008 at 8:30 AM
I dont blame Reggie Bush. Kim K could afford to lose a couple lbs
July 16th, 2008 at 8:31 AM
Anyone who passes a law regarding baggy pants in a racist. Honestly, I don’t care for them either, but c’mon, who do you think you are singling out when it comes to baggy pants? If you do that, then you will have to censor women who wear painted on jeans or tank and tube tops. And who wants that?
July 16th, 2008 at 8:35 AM
TBL, are you going to post something about the V Foundation auctions over at the 4 letter? Some idiot is bidding $30,000+ to have Mike and Mike Broadcast from their house for a day.
July 16th, 2008 at 8:36 AM
@benji-not sure if we can call him an idiot. if he has the money, and is donating it to cancer research, that’s pretty damn cool.
July 16th, 2008 at 8:37 AM
I use to play Madden online against my brother when I was down in Florida and he was in MI. Then we had kids and it stopped.
July 16th, 2008 at 8:39 AM
July 16th, 2008 at 8:39 AM
benji – if i were in the business of doing PR for the Mike & Mike show, yes, i would run that item. But I’m not. I’m sure what they’re doing is swell and nice, but no, you wont see that here.
July 16th, 2008 at 8:39 AM
@sparty, you’re exactly right about donating the money to cancer research. it is a great cause. but i wouldn’t want those people coming to my spot. i’d much rather bid on the PTI experience.
July 16th, 2008 at 8:42 AM
@benji-i agree, much rather have wilbon and tony. i put mike and mike on for the first time in months yesterday, they still suck.
July 16th, 2008 at 8:42 AM
The Jimmy V Foundation is swell and nice. Cancer, not so swell or nice. No, you wouldn’t want to promote that.
July 16th, 2008 at 8:44 AM
I have no idea who either one of the round-up gals are.
July 16th, 2008 at 8:44 AM
imagine if the WFAN was involved. Mike and the Mad Dog. now that would be fun. just instigate as much shit as possible.
July 16th, 2008 at 8:44 AM

July 16th, 2008 at 8:45 AM
@sparty – You and your brother had kids? How exactly did that happen, Mr. Mom?
July 16th, 2008 at 8:46 AM
sparty gets off on being called a knucklehead.
July 16th, 2008 at 8:48 AM
hell, they ain’t screamin over me in my house!
July 16th, 2008 at 8:51 AM
NCAA has always been terrible. Sure the fight songs and stadium get your blood going, but the actual gameplay is just awful. I’m torn on Madden this year, last year it was just dreadful for the PS3 and there are too many good games I still have to play for me to drop 60 bucks another madden.
July 16th, 2008 at 8:51 AM
nothing regarding the Rampage Jackson? it supposedly was an awesome car chase.
July 16th, 2008 at 8:52 AM
considering milan have been very vocal on the fact that they can no longer compete with the big clubs financially, i wouldnt say their stature is much of anything.
and he hasnt been the most talented player in the world for several years. probably not even top 20 at this point. have you seen how fat he has gotten? dudes a joke. and so is milan. you dont rebuild by signing over the hill fatass brazilians, cause that worked soooo well with ronaldo
July 16th, 2008 at 8:52 AM
Bring on Romney.
Best part of the game last night was Papelbon getting booed mercilessly.
July 16th, 2008 at 8:53 AM
DEREK JETER CLAP CLAP CLAPCLAPCLAP
July 16th, 2008 at 8:54 AM
I like to refer to him as “Road Rage” Jackson.
July 16th, 2008 at 8:54 AM
Donating is completely different from promoting.
July 16th, 2008 at 8:54 AM
i used to buy ncaa every year, but stopped a few years ago, just got old. never liked madden, its too busy. i buy fifa every year because the kits, leagues, and young players change every year, and the gameplay usually changes too. why? because theres actually competition in the market from winning eleven / pro evo. if there was any legitimate competition to madden and ncaa they would be much better games
July 16th, 2008 at 8:55 AM
Looks like Ufford is jumping on the Canadian Cheerleader train
July 16th, 2008 at 8:56 AM
@mole, absolutely agree. Even if Milan was going to sign him, it would be a huge mistake.
July 16th, 2008 at 8:56 AM
I loathe the Sawx, but I don’t think players should be booed at All-Star games. Not cool. And, particularly since Papelbon was an AL player in an AL park.
Yes, bring on Romney. I wish he were at the top of the ticket, but that ship has sailed.
July 16th, 2008 at 8:58 AM
@benji, you boys stayed up for the entire game last night huh? My drunk ass passed out in the 5th inning.
July 16th, 2008 at 8:59 AM
politics aside, considering mccain may not live through eight years in office, the thought of someone being next in line for president when their favorite non-bible book is ‘battlefied earth’ is pants shittingly terrifying. you cant trust people like that.
July 16th, 2008 at 9:00 AM
5th inning? What was that like, 2am?
July 16th, 2008 at 9:00 AM
my boss just called to say she wasnt coming in because she stayed up watching the game. and here i am with nothing to do all day.
July 16th, 2008 at 9:01 AM
@ill: sure did. did you ever think that watching 5 innings would only be a third of the game? Brewers had a poor showing.
July 16th, 2008 at 9:02 AM
it’s sox and yanks, totally different. especially after he stated that he should be closing the game and not rivera, not wise. his retraction later was bs.
July 16th, 2008 at 9:02 AM
i know it started late but the first 4 1/2 were quick, like 75 minutes. I’m in england so i had to stay up til 3 to watch just that much. gay.
July 16th, 2008 at 9:03 AM
Papel-blows wife and unborn child are pussies
July 16th, 2008 at 9:05 AM
Alex not only left the game in the 5th, he left the stadium too.
July 16th, 2008 at 9:06 AM
staying up till the end of the game was a badddddddddddddddddddddd choice… thanks for the roundup link tbl!
July 16th, 2008 at 9:12 AM
Here I was making fun of the eastern time zone people last night for it being so late, then wouldn’t you know it. Brutal. I’m just glad the lone Royal didn’t blow it.
July 16th, 2008 at 9:13 AM
Makes me happy I hit the rack at 10pm (CDT). I’d be in real pain if I would have stayed up.
July 16th, 2008 at 9:15 AM
That SI review of NCAA 09 makes me want to barf. Do people know that Florida didn’t win shit last year and lost in their bowl game, despite Tebow’s success? God.
July 16th, 2008 at 9:16 AM
I am exhausted…and TBL…those pics up top are horrendous…seriously..two good looking broads looking hideous…This is not TMZ..I want groomed well shot hot women…CRM knows..ask him..he is already on the “payroll”
July 16th, 2008 at 9:17 AM
It looks like Sherrill didn’t hurt his trade value. So that’s always good.
July 16th, 2008 at 9:18 AM
Pretty good round-up except for the shitty pics.
July 16th, 2008 at 9:19 AM
Crappy UM team took them out last yr in a pretty exciting bowl game.
July 16th, 2008 at 9:20 AM
The gameplay on 09 seems to be much better. the recruiting is a little too in-depth for me, but you can sim it if you want. overall it seemed like the best version yet, but like always, not as good as madden
July 16th, 2008 at 9:22 AM
what a great game last night. what a shitty morning this morning.
July 16th, 2008 at 9:24 AM
who are the girls in the roundup pics?
July 16th, 2008 at 9:26 AM
Sophia Bush looks little too Kirsten Dunst in that pic. That is Sophia Bush right?
July 16th, 2008 at 9:29 AM
I think Madden peaked for me in 2005. After that, they seemed like they felt pressure to add new features to get people to re-up every year
July 16th, 2008 at 9:36 AM
Agreed Ruck, 2005 was an amazing game, and I’ve owned almost every one since it came out in early 90’s. Since then they’ve done nothing but add gimmicky stuff like the passing window and special abilities.
July 16th, 2008 at 9:40 AM
Billy Packer needs to be Euthanized. Kim K is still fucking hot. Uggla needs to change positions. Huskers suck and Sooner QBs are losers.
July 16th, 2008 at 9:41 AM
Benji, here’s the HILARIOUS take you were looking for on rampage!
July 16th, 2008 at 9:41 AM
So that’s where TBL’s scrilla goes – boxing classes, an iPhone and a Mazada. Yet he still won’t take our money for a server upgrade.
July 16th, 2008 at 9:43 AM
On the Oklahoma story, can’t you almost always use satire as a legitimate excuse? The Onion uses fake bylines and real names all the time, yet they can do it under the guise of satire.
July 16th, 2008 at 9:47 AM
Madden 2005 is prob the best Madden ever. Hopefully the PS3 version isn’t shitty this year. 2008 sucked ass.
July 16th, 2008 at 9:52 AM
Does anyone else feel like Madden has really slipped in the past few years? Or does that just have to do with me graduating? I much prefer to play FIFA over Madden. To me Madden peaked with 2004 (MIchael Vick cover), I was at the apex of my game, used to give my friends a 20 point spread and still beat them, thus enabling me to get high and drunk for free for the year. Damnit I miss those days, as I now go back to punching numbers….
July 16th, 2008 at 9:59 AM
No Farvicoden(great name), it has gone downhill since the 04/05 versions, with the 2008 PS3 version being one of the worst games ever made.
July 16th, 2008 at 10:05 AM
I would have to say that 06 (McNabb on the cover) was the best year it had the new vision cone feature along with the precision passing and the soundtrack was pretty dope. All the new features made it the best.
Now about the parties…being at all three of them (still working on a recap), we stayed at Arods for like 40 minutes, Jeters for like an hour (only cause I wanted to see Jordan) and of course David Wrights was the best.
Last night (laaaate) alot of the guys made it to Underbar at the W Hotel.
July 16th, 2008 at 10:08 AM
EA sports should give everyone who purchased the 2008 PS3 version half off the 2009 collector’s edition. 2008 was a ripoff and they should do everything they can to make us forget it ever existed.
July 16th, 2008 at 10:08 AM
Regarding Madden, PS2s gameplay was sick every year. Then Halo 2 came out and I had to get a XBOX 360. XBOX 360s gameplay is god awful but getting better every year but how long is it going to take for them to get that shit right? Whats wrong with the PS3 version??
July 16th, 2008 at 10:12 AM
Two bad pics of two hot chicks. Well played, TBL.
July 16th, 2008 at 10:21 AM
Coop: Why did you respond with a No to me, then go on to agree with everything I said? I still think the introduction of the ‘playmaker’ where you could direct your receivers on the run is the best addition of the past ten years. Madden has definitely lost it’s luster, but I don’t know what to attribute it to.
July 16th, 2008 at 10:25 AM
The PS3 version ran at 30 frames per second, so it was slower than the 360 version. Controls were shitty, mine froze alot, wouldn’t load my franchise and it was just not a very impressive game.
July 16th, 2008 at 10:37 AM
I loved, LOVED the playmaker feature. Didn’t they take it away like a year or two later for the vision cone?
July 16th, 2008 at 10:41 AM
I’m sure this is, like, interesting to, like, a lot of people.
July 16th, 2008 at 10:46 AM
I see what youze guys are saying about the photos.
But there’s something about the girl on the right…I like her.
No clue who either of them are though.
July 16th, 2008 at 10:55 AM
leighton meester on the left from gossip girl. sophia bush on the right from my
dreamsone tree hill and some movies. the sophia bush picture isn’t bad. she looks really hot there to me. not her best though.July 16th, 2008 at 11:44 AM
My bad Farvicoden, it was meant to be a yes.
July 16th, 2008 at 1:08 PM
it was already everywhere, so we’re taking a swing at it from a different direction later today.
i might agree with you if this guy hadn’t spent the time to do a fake mock-up of the newspaper and present it as fact.
