July 29th, 2008 at 3:36 PM
The kid from OSU was rollin’ in an Escalade. Tressel is so lucky the Big 10 doesn’t have a salary cap.
July 29th, 2008 at 3:36 PM
futurama at 41? fuck that list. dr who and mst3k should be higher than fucking BSG and babylon 5. lost shouldnt even be on the list
July 29th, 2008 at 3:36 PM
That top 50 list sucks alot of the shows shouldn’t be on the list.
July 29th, 2008 at 3:37 PM
I assume OTL will be in Columbus grilling Tressell about the high number of arrests.
“Labrador retriever runs for mayor of Alabama town”, well he probably reads at a higher level than most humans from alabama.
July 29th, 2008 at 3:37 PM
If only Doug “Winks” Worthington were named Tyrelle Pryor…
July 29th, 2008 at 3:37 PM
I didn’t know that the original Star Trek was only on for 3 seasons.
Sliders should have been much higher!!!!
/Hi Jerry.
July 29th, 2008 at 3:39 PM
I forgot about 3rd Rock. That show was pretty solid
July 29th, 2008 at 3:41 PM
Plenty of 20 year old college kids roll around campus in $60,000 SUVs. Move along, nothing to see here. Student-athletes at work.

I just assumed Roswell was # 1 on the list, if so, then that list rocked.
July 29th, 2008 at 3:51 PM
dont think roswell was on it
no first wave either
but there were like thirteen superman shows and dark fucking angel
July 29th, 2008 at 3:52 PM
Liverpool signed Robbie Keane yesterday. I figured this would get no play around these parts, but it’s a pretty big pick-up for the men in Red. I can’t wait to see him Torres and Gerrard work together in a month.
July 29th, 2008 at 3:52 PM
and he got the seven kit.
robbie + torres = king kenny + rushie

July 29th, 2008 at 3:55 PM
@NDub -
Actually, Worthington DOES come from a wealthy family and a hobnobby area.
No excuse for a DUI. Just stupid on his part.
July 29th, 2008 at 3:55 PM
That seems risky on multiple fronts.
July 29th, 2008 at 3:55 PM
mst3k is one of the greatest shows ever.
July 29th, 2008 at 3:56 PM
Go Bucks!
July 29th, 2008 at 3:56 PM
moleman – so you like the signing?
July 29th, 2008 at 3:56 PM
X-Files should be 2, Quantam Leap should be 3. “oh boy!” just in case jerry is reading, Sliders was way cool.
July 29th, 2008 at 3:58 PM
Colt seems like a cool cat. He looks good with #5.
/He’s no Heath Shuler.
July 29th, 2008 at 3:58 PM
I hate the lists that make you click link after link to see the whole thing.
Where is Heroes?
July 29th, 2008 at 3:59 PM
That Sci Fi list is terrible. It should be title, “50 shows that are vaguely science fiction, in some random order because we haven’t seen any of them, anyway.”
July 29th, 2008 at 4:00 PM
Pregnant prostitutes: only in the Missouri.
/Fixed
July 29th, 2008 at 4:01 PM
i love the signing. neither kuyt or voronin are out and out strikers, and babel is going to be starting on either flank. so they needed a true second striker and keane is just that. his scoring is consistent but his role as a setup guy is underrated
im thinking
reina
carra – agger
degen/finnan dossena/aurelio
masche
kuyt/pennant – stevie – babel/yossi
keano
torres
i think pennant and arbeloa may be gone though. good riddance. carragher is the best right back on the team but he doesnt like playing their. frankly id be cool with that and partnering skrtel and agger with sami on the bench. the seven bench spots this season open up a LOT more options.
July 29th, 2008 at 4:01 PM
Arsenal > Liverpool
July 29th, 2008 at 4:02 PM
damnit that didnt like my formatting. the right and left backs with push forward to slightly behind mascherano (or barry, alonso, whatever … please no barry)
2-2-1-3-2 kinda
July 29th, 2008 at 4:02 PM
chelsea> both of those two.
July 29th, 2008 at 4:03 PM
Wow! do all college athletes drive Escalades or does that only happen at Osu. I bet Pryor is going to be doing doughnuts in his Ferrari. God I love OSU booster.
July 29th, 2008 at 4:05 PM
the downfall of michigans basketball program started in a fully loaded explorer that flipped back in the mid 90s. that was the SUV of the day.

Breakings News: Global Warming Dangerous, Racist Too!
That was the dumbest thing I’ve ever read. If I’d have given that speech I would have been slammed for equating poor with black… that’s pretty much all that was.
July 29th, 2008 at 4:07 PM
where’s grady and his .28? fucking Michigan hypocrites.
July 29th, 2008 at 4:07 PM
Arsenal > Liverpool
Oprah.com > oxygen
One other thing, +1 to Mike for showing us just why Stacy has her C-level fame in the first place.
July 29th, 2008 at 4:07 PM
@mole, I couldn’t agree more. The fill-ins strikers last year didn’t help help Torres much (even though his numbers didn’t reflect it). Gerrard will love having both Keane and Torres to look for. I know Carra’s going to want to stay in the middle but you’re right about him at the right. Babel goint o play and I thought Yossi made nice progress last year (maybe one could slide to the other side?). I know Kuyt isn’t bad, but I like him better of the bench.
July 29th, 2008 at 4:09 PM

Tractor Traylor?
July 29th, 2008 at 4:11 PM
What?
July 29th, 2008 at 4:12 PM
babel and yossi can play on either side (yossi can play in the middle too, incredibly versatile and probably a supersub this year, he can prey on tired teams)
i still think they make one more signing. a swap of alonso for barry (money wise) at this point is dumb in my eyes, as now that they are clearly going to be playing two strikers there isnt room for three central midfielders. sure gareth can play on the left but the reason they wanted him was for his linking up with gerrard, and that wont be happening laterally. if they bring in barry at the expense of alonso id rather see barry in the middle, stevie out right, and babel out left. its no coincidence that liverpool’s highest point total ever came from a season where gerrard was playing on the right.
still, selling a central mid to get an older central mid makes no sense when you have lucas, plessis, and spearing waiting in the wings
July 29th, 2008 at 4:12 PM
i kinda wish the cavs still had ricky davis…
July 29th, 2008 at 4:13 PM
Dark Angel ranked ahead of Buffy..are you kidding me. Buffy would have kicked her ass then drove a stake through her heart. I also remember watching “V” when it was on. Very cool.
July 29th, 2008 at 4:13 PM
so he can shoot on his own hoop again spencer?
July 29th, 2008 at 4:13 PM

I don’t get much info on the younger guys, so I can’t comment. I did see that the grabbed a young French kid that may contribute next year (too lazy to look his name up). Any knowledge on him?
July 29th, 2008 at 4:20 PM
read the blog your name links to…
what? doug worthington comes from a wealthy family as well? SHOCKING!!!
July 29th, 2008 at 4:20 PM
glad i have never been the one to suffer sanctions.
/dennis erickson.
July 29th, 2008 at 4:25 PM
lucas is similar to gerrard in his style, more of a box to box guy.
plessis made his debut against arsenal away last spring between the two champions league fixtures (and shut down an arsenal team that desperately needed a win to stay alive and fucking choked), hes tall and strong, needs to work on his passing but hes similar to what sissoko was like at the start of his liverpool career
spearing was the captain of the u18 team when they won the youth cup in 07, graduated to the reserves last year. hes small and tenacious, in the mold of mascherano
ngog is the french kid they just signed. hes very tall and supposedly lightening quick. he only scored one goal last season for PSG, but he was 18 for most of the season and PSG is fucking awful. however he has had almost a 1:1 goal ratio at every level of the french youth setup
i follow the young guys religously, and the ranks are loaded with talent. nemeth will be wearing the number 10 next year, mark my words
July 29th, 2008 at 4:33 PM
That actually sounds promising. What resources do you use to follow the youth guys?
July 29th, 2008 at 4:33 PM
Wow a whopping two arrests (Clifford was kicked off the team last week). JT of 2003 laughs at that portrayal..
July 29th, 2008 at 4:35 PM
And by the way, WVU matched that total today..
July 29th, 2008 at 4:38 PM
Nice try, cursed. College basketball isn’t a sport!
July 29th, 2008 at 4:41 PM
Sliders is better than LOST?!? Are they smoking crack. Even with Kari Wuhrer that show reeked.
July 29th, 2008 at 4:42 PM
the e-season ticket on liverpools website shows a lot of the reserve and youth games live, and has archives of everything. its like 8 bucks a month but its worth it to me.
theyve raided spain for many of the youth players. bruna and pacheco were fabregased away from madrid and barca respectively and both are top class talents. pacheco played all the preseason games thus far and was man of the match in two of them. bruna is a midfielder and pacheco is a striker.
they have top young fullbacks in darby and insua on the right and left. insua got a few games in last year and a definite wingback.
paul anderson is their best english talent, he spent last season on loan at swansea and scored i think 10 goals, hes a winger, will be on loan at notts forest this year, very very exciting player. adam hammill is another winger, not quite as good as anderson but a better crosser, has been playing in scotland, believe hes playing for blackpool this year. so theyre both getting vital championship experience.
then in the u18 ranks they have four very promising strikers, marvin pourie from germany, nathan ecclestone from england, david amoo from england, and paul ince’s son who just scored his first goal the other day. if one of those pans out to be top quality thats a good rate of return (my money is on ecclestone)
July 29th, 2008 at 4:49 PM
is Lost really science fiction?
July 29th, 2008 at 5:45 PM
Sparty, absolutely it is. And I’ve always hated science fiction, but I love Lost. They’re talking about bending space and time.. so yeah, I’d say it’s pretty science fiction-ie.
July 29th, 2008 at 8:49 PM
That sci fi list blows. Farscape and Heroes don’t even crack the top 50? Gimme an effin’ break.
July 29th, 2008 at 10:06 PM
Without Heroes, the entire list is invalidated.
I tried so hard to like Lost – I loved the concept, the actors were fair enough and enough attractive females to warrant repeat viewing. But damn it moved so painfully slow it lost ME.
