The Tampa Tribune seems to think Brett Favre will be joining the Bucs in the next 48 hours. We’ve already looked at whether or not the Bucs will benefit from Favre, and now, a look at the history of the team with the weakest color name (pewter?) in the NFL:

– Draft Bo Jackson No. 1, but he shuns them for baseball.
- Signed No. 1 pick, Heisman Trophy-winner Vinny T, traded away Steve Young.
– Vinny T throws 13 TDS … and 35 picks. Commence color blind jokes.
– Sam Wyche hired. Sinister look comes across the face of diabolical columnist Norman Chad.

– The NFL is littered with future HOF (or fringe HOF) QBs – Elway, Moon, Esiason, Kelly, Aikman, Bledsoe – and Steve Young is leading the 49ers to glory. Craig Erickson is starting for the Bucs at QB.

– Tony Dungy takes over. Franchise saved!
– After taxing the hell out of residents for a few years, the new stadium goes up.
- Warren Sapp-led defense takes TB to the playoffs despite Shaun King’s awful play at QB.
– Pry Keyshawn from the Jets. Damn you Jets!
– Playoff failures continue, so out with Dungy, in with chuckie Gruden.
– Bucs bury the Raiders to win the Super Bowl. We watch some of it from an airport, deathly hungover, en route back from a wild time in San Diego. That city rocks.
- Chris Simms has a horrendous playoff game and the Bucs lose at home to the Redskins.
– Lose another home playoff game due to a lackluster offense, 24-14 to the Giants.
