Added HBO at about 4 pm Wednesday – at the expense of Starz and ‘the movie package’ – for two reasons: 1) Hard Knocks, and 2) Entourage. Really liked the first episode of Hard Knocks (this guy didn’t) last night.

1. Show might need a bit more Terrell Owens. His consistently funny remarks (“2 … sexy!” and the t-shirt line, just to name a couple) had us cracking up. There are at least two kinds of arrogant, and he’s the palatable one.

2. Significantly less Jerry Jones would be a good thing. We get the hands-on owner thing … but he doesn’t appear to be the kind of guy we’d want to work for.

3. It’s comical that Wade Phillips has one of the best teams in the league, and at the same time probably less power/control than any other coach in the NFL. It’s one thing to read about him being a figurehead … it’s another to watch Phillips just mosey around with his beer gut, grinning about having a cushy job and not having to do too much.

4. It’s going to be difficult to talk this show up if the staged scenes continue. The weakest scene, by far, was when Keon Lattimore called his brother (Ray Lewis). At first we were into it, and then the camera cuts to Ray Lewis … what the hell? That was so staged, we thought we were watching ‘The Hills.’ HBO, PLEASE NO MORE OF THAT GARBAGE.

5. Jason Whitten might up being one of the greatest TEs of all-time. Besides being likable, one day, we feel he might be remembered in the same breath as Ozzie Newsome, Shannon Sharpe, Kellen Winslow, and Tony Gonzalez.

6. How can you not like Tony Romo? Everytime we see replays of that botched snap in Seattle, we wince for the kid. On the flip side, we won a ton of money on that game – think the spread was something bizarre, like 2.5.

7. Pacman didn’t seem all that crazy. The bucket of water on the rookie was sweet. The jawing with TO and the catching 6-punts pieces were neat, too.

8. Dave Campo is a clown. Six years ago he was running the team; now, he’s getting his pants pulled down by DBs.

9. ESPN and Peter King were likely stewing at some point last night or this morning. HBO gave the NFL Network some airtime over ESPN; Peter King was heard speaking, but shown in just a flash. Maybe he didn’t feel like signing the release.
