last golf thought, then i’ll shut up…if the USGA or PGA EVER thinks about holding a major at this venue, whoever is in charge should be shot dead on the spot. this was the worst major venue i have ever seen, how is this place even a choice? every hole is just long and boring, no imagination, it’s boring as fuck. the greens are stupid and totally out of character with the rest of the course, surprising because it’s a donald ross design.

rees jones, the dude who re-set up oakland hills, has ruined major golf on numerous occasions, this being the latest chapter. there are numerous other top architects equally qualified to do his job, and they’d probably do it without acting like a sadistic fuck

the golf was exciting, but this course is garbage, and always has been. it’s hard, but that’s about it, and there are a million american courses that are just as difficult yet offer more. again, great finish, but just a terrible venue. they don’t hold the super bowl at a high school stadium, don’t hold the last major of a year at a garbage course.

except for the final 9, this was one of hte most boring majors (well, aside from the last 2 masters after the most recent changes ruined augusta national) in recent memory. at least next year we get treated to bethpage black.
