I’m Going to Shove a Broomstick up Your Butt
Kind of Gay, Losers, Mental Illness, Oh, Pathetic Injuries August 17th. 2008, 3:00pm
File this under “boys will be boys — and sodomizers”. In Las Vegas, New Mexico (yes, it exists … kind of like California, Missouri), a high school football camp turned took a sore turn for the worst when the pre-season hazing and initiation rituals um, just read it.
New Mexico State Police are investigating possible criminal wrongdoing, a spokesman said, while the owner of the camp in Gallinas Canyon said investigators visited a couple of the bunkhouses on Friday afternoon where the students stayed.
At least one student alleged that he was pinned to the ground and sodomized with a broomstick — an accusation that district superintendent Rick Romero said appeared to be mostly false, although he said “part†of the allegation could be true.
The superintendent says the broomstick allegations are “mostly false“? Hmmm.
YOU SEE THIS BROOMSTICK? IT’S GOING UP YOUR RECTUM. NOW BEND OVER!
Just like TBL with Intern Bill. Hey, you want to post daily and become a good blog teammate, you gotta pay the piper.

When done with the right motives, hazing can be a fun experience for everybody but unfortunately it always takes some loser to go to the extreme and do something stupid that he or she didn’t even experience but choose to inflict upon somebody else.

Considering that hazing is illegal in most states, I doubt hazing is fun for anyone.
Rick Romero versus Ric Romero….. one and the same?

If they’d all shoved broomsticks up their butts, then it would be OK. Though I hope each dude would have his own broomstick. Wouldn’t want to spread any pinkeye.

Shoving broomsticks up a persons’ ass isnt “kinda gay”, it is prison faggot gay.

I agree that hazing can be fun for all (especially as far as college athletics). I was hazed as bad as anybody, and to be honest it was one of the funniest experieces of my life. Hilarious all the way around.
Some stupid shit, but funny. Even having to get naked in the middle of the party wasn’t that bad. Everybody’s done it, who cares? All you have to do is not take yourself too seriously, that, and not hopefully not be horrified of such things. But all the shit we had to do was funny.
The broomstick thing though, that’s all fucked up. Whoever did it should have the same thing done to him…well, he probably will…in prison…and it’ll be a dick, not a broomstick. Suck on justice, douchebag.

Dude, Buckner, you like spreading your legs and letting balls in. Hazing isnt fun for anyone, aside from aspiring police recruits and all-around NJ douchebags.

“Hazing is fun for all?” Seriously…what are you guys smoking? Hazing is only fun when you’re the person doing the hazing. If you think getting teabagged, or eating food with pubic hair on it, or broom sticks up your butt, or getting naked in the middle of a party is fun for you? Then you just love to be humiliated. That whole situation, as with most hazing, is way more than being “able to laugh at yourself.”

This exact same thing happened at my high school with some poor sap from the soccer team. Rumor was they duct taped him to the goal post.

I’m with you Billy Buckner, hazing in it’s origins was all about have some sophomoric fun at the expense of the new guys i.e. rookies, pledges, etc. but unfortunately somewhere down the line some idiots decided it would be more fun to cause serious bodily harm to people and that’s when things started to go downhill.

It’s not an enjoyment of being humiliated. I wasn’t, albeit I would guess that in all the years of that tradition, there were a few who were. I just didn’t see any harm in it and wasn’t particularly embarassed. But I don’t embarass easily and fuck around and goof off to a fault.
As ChrisP said, I’m pretty sure hazing originally wasn’t meant to take the turn for the worst that it obviously has in recent years. I hear stories from buddies who played football that I could hardly believe. But maybe the stuff us runners did just wasn’t that hardcore. I’ve done worse stuff than the antics they made us do on multiple occasions hammered…and sadly, it’s pretty likely I will again.
And lay off Jersey!

Anyone who thinks there is anything redeeming or valuable to hazing is an asshole and a moron. It’s illegal for a reason.
I used to investigate alleged hazing incidents for my college fraternity after I graduated. I can say that never, not once did I see anything redeeming to any of those incidents or the whole idea of hazing at all.
Hazing builds teamwork and sense of team. What a load of shit. It makes people either cynical about their ‘team’ or what exactly is ‘teamwork’ really supposed to be about… or you end up as one of the assholes who simply get off on beating people up or humiliating them. Hazing does nothing to better a team, it’s just a method for dicks to get their jollies.
No doubt: new members to any team or organization have to earn the trust of the other team members that they will carry their load and do their task. But hazing does nothing to further that goal. Instead, why don’t you ask the new team members to earn trust by… oh, I dunno… by just doing their fucking job?
