The Roundup: I Miss TBL’s Scent Most Of All
Baseball, Boxing, Movies, NFL, Tennis August 28th. 2008, 8:00am
Something about the musk of creatine and bar bells… Morning all… CRM here… I’ve got a tower now and I plan on keeping it hummin’… 24/7… Coke and dope… Wait a second… Didn’t I just beat a murder rap?
If you’ve got any tips or suggestions send them along to alumnigonzo@gmail.com… If you have any complaints feel free to flood the inbox of patrick.imig@gmail.com… We’re working on learning how to hyperlink e-mail addresses… I swear…
As for her (/nods to the right) , I know TBL tries to stick to celebrities, but I think we can all agree on former Playboy centerfold, Tamara Witmer… For the ladies, Becks…
Oscar De La Hoya and Manny Pacquiao are set for December and Oscar is the favorite. (FanHouse)
The NFL Network will be getting things going early. Don’t forget to TiVo The Sports Reporters! (NFL)
A bunch of flattops. (In Game Now)
Tony Romo bought a new house. (The Landry Hat)
God, New Yorkers are great people. (YouTube)
Which Toronto Raptor would be best at tennis? (Cuzoogle)
A new site with NFL links. I bet it’s gone in a week. (ProFootballAmerica)
Don’t move during that classic song in the middle of the 7th in the Bronx. (Deadspin)
Where are they now: Animal House. (Moviefone)
Blogger gets arrested for posting links from the fictitious, Chinese Democracy. (E!)
I’m convinced that there isn’t a thing Heidi Montag does in her entire day that isn’t planned as a photo op. That being said – “Look at her mellons!” (Hollywood Tuna)
Merriman will skip surgery. (ESPN)
Whatever happened to the Maple Leafs? (Melt Your Face Off)
A rap about Chuck Norris, Steven Segal and Jean Claude Van Damme. (MySpace)
To Review – I’ll be here today through Tuesday. Imig, The Sports Hernia and Tyler Duffy will all be posting as well. Since we’ve got college football coming up, I’m trying to convince them to help out on the weekend. We’ll even see some appearances from other members of the TBL Community. If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to e-mail any of us:

Speaking of Van Damme, Timecop, which is his only decent movie, was on last nite, flipped to it instead of watching my Yanks hang themselves.
Good times….

Thank god for CRM doing roundups
August 28th, 2008 at 8:22 AM
Ha! And I didn’t even request the link … many thanks, CRM. I give it a week and a half.
Merriman is insane.
August 28th, 2008 at 8:31 AM
CRM, good to see you think of the ladies also..Becks, always a fine choice!

US Economic Growth Revised Far Above Expectations. 2Q GDP Revised to 3.3% from 1.9%.
Where is the recession?!
August 28th, 2008 at 8:37 AM
that’s a spot-on PurdueMatt impression. +1 JS.
August 28th, 2008 at 8:38 AM
Sorry PMatt, no TBL, I don’t think CRM gives a rats ass. Let us not forget that those numbers are compiled by the government, in an election year. Color me skeptical.
Since when is Baltimore redneck (NY Youtube link)? Ghetto, maybe, redneck, as a current Ohesian, I say not even close.
August 28th, 2008 at 8:41 AM
@coop247: They sing “Thank God I’m a Country Boy” during the 7th inning stretch!
August 28th, 2008 at 8:42 AM
Merriman is fucking idiot.
August 28th, 2008 at 8:52 AM
Bloodsport would kick your ass for saying that – blind, while doing the splits.
August 28th, 2008 at 8:56 AM
As a Marylander I feel qualified in saying that Baltimore is much more ghetto than redneck. They do bust out the John Denver during O’s games, but that’s only to take a break from shooting each other.

The unemployment in Ohio skyrocketed (again) in the last quarter. Where’s this economic growth that the government speaks of?
/anyone but PurdueMatt

boy that link really shat on Romo’s new house. That was harsh. I’m okay with it, since I didn’t pay 699k for it.
August 28th, 2008 at 9:06 AM
i call bullshit…lionheart, bloodsport, kickboxer, in hell and the quest were all badass if you’re entertained by awfully choreographed, terribly acted martial arts movies like myself.
/bloodsport is legit regardless of my disclaimer

Sudden Death
August 28th, 2008 at 9:11 AM
That, along with Striking Distance, is one of Pgh’s finest forays into cinema. Plus you get the bonus of Mike Lange narrating the “hockey” scenes.
August 28th, 2008 at 9:11 AM
Who knew that Romo was so conservative with his dough? Guess he never watches MTV’s Cribs.
August 28th, 2008 at 9:18 AM
It’s not Romos’ dough anymore. He’s got mama to help him with that cool styling now. It’s out of his hands.
August 28th, 2008 at 9:18 AM
People on that site were right… Romo’s house does look like the kind you would find in a porno
August 28th, 2008 at 9:19 AM
Romo’s house in any state but Texas easily costs twice that price. lucky texans.
August 28th, 2008 at 9:20 AM
Benji, Missourians disagree. That house would be 300’s here. Okay, maybe not quite that low, but you get the point.
August 28th, 2008 at 9:21 AM
And we’d call it a shanty.
August 28th, 2008 at 9:24 AM
true, i guess not mizzoura or a few other states. i guess i overspoke.
August 28th, 2008 at 9:26 AM
I’ll be deep in the cold cold ground before I recognize Mizzoura!
August 28th, 2008 at 9:26 AM
Yeah, what the hell is Merriman thinking? I think the roids got to his brain as well.
August 28th, 2008 at 9:40 AM
I can’t believe Romo is getting ripped for ONLY buying a house for 700K?!?! WTF? We rip athletes for blowing their dough and going broke, then we rip Romo for not spending enough money?!?
He may have purchased some other property around the country. Who knows, but I would take the place.
And, I am in no way a Cowboys fan. It just blows my mind that he is getting ripped…
August 28th, 2008 at 9:51 AM
No doubt Johnny, especially after reading about Starbury purchasing a $45 million jet. I thought the story was funny because folks were ripping on the decor (white cabinets!!), as if Romo can’t drop 100k for a redesign without even thinking about it.
August 28th, 2008 at 9:58 AM
Reading that Romo post made me wonder if my wife is blogging now. WTF?
August 28th, 2008 at 10:05 AM
Read this quote from Michael Cooke (Sun-Times editor) on the Trib site about everyone’s buddy Jay and nearly did a spittake:
August 28th, 2008 at 10:07 AM
Damn! They’re catching on to the liberal lies… time for plan B!!!!
August 28th, 2008 at 10:08 AM
Obama’s Pitch Is In The Dirt
August 28th, 2008 at 10:14 AM
CRM, hook us up with some college football posts today man. I’m absolutely giddy about the return of competitive football.
PM, did you watch Biden last night? I had never seen the dude talk, seemed like a pretty good/smart guy.
August 28th, 2008 at 10:16 AM
See, I think Merriman’s more of a complete and total moron as opposed to being bat shit crazy.
August 28th, 2008 at 10:30 AM
I wonder is Merriman’s actual thought process is to try it, knowing that he can shut it down at any point, but if he has the surgery now there’s no going back… it’s still a dumb decision from where I’m sitting. I applaud his
toughness and desire to win though.

Just a little link of Becks? That picture is meant to be displayed in glory!
