Rush was right. McNabb is overhyped because he is a black QB. Just like Vince Young. Just like Culpepper.

Do you mean as she looks in those Nutrisystem commercials, or somehow different? If the former, I would disagree. It’s a matter of taste, obviously, but she looks very skeletal and decidedly unhealthy in those commercials. Like if you touched her she’d break into a million pieces, like a blonde Death Star.

Yeah, the media definitely loves to hate on Rush, so I understand why the reaction to his comments got way overwrought–they were making him out to be Jimmy the Greek or Al Campanis–again, I just didn’t find it to be a valid statement on his part. I DO think he tried to what he accused “the media” of doing–injecting politics into a conversation where it really didn’t belong.

OK, back to cheesecake shots and dick jokes.

Thank you broseph for discussing this intelligently. You and I disagree and that’s fine. I got no problem with that. My problem was with the way Rush’s comments were distorted to make it sound like a racial slur or that he hates black people.

Since when does the media love black people, particularly black athletes? I don’t care about Limbaugh’s politics, but it’s just an unfounded statement. Yes, Donovan McNabb got a lot of hype. Yes, he is a black quarterback. But quarterbacks generally tend to get the lionshare of credit (or blame) for their teams’ performance. So where was this social concern when McNabb was getting crapped on after the Super Bowl and after all his injuries?

Limbaugh said that the media overrated McNabb because of their desire to see a black quarterback do well. This was a true statement then and is still true now. He never said black QB’s suck or anything else remotely racist. You don’t like Limbaugh, I get that. But at least know what you’re talking about instead of spouting partisan babble.

Or, you know, Olbermann could actually care about football and want to take a break from partisan hackery.

I don’t watch any of those shows, but if Limbaugh got a chance before shoving his foot in his mouth like it was a pain pill, why not give Olbermann a shot, too?
