MNF: Bart Scott Remains the Best NFL Quote
NFL September 29th. 2008, 6:15pm
Baltimore Ravens LB Bart Scott, who two years ago injured Reggie Bush and then boasted about it, found joy in a foolish text message Pittsburgh rookie RB Rashaad Mendenhall sent to Baltimore’s Ray Rice:
“He said later that he was just joking, but it’s too late,” Ravens linebacker Bart Scott said. “Thanks for the bulletin-board material, rookie.”
For the second week in a row, the Steelers will face one of the league’s most rabid defenses, and with Willie Parker out, and Big Ben banged-up, it’s tough to call Pittsburgh a lock against the unbeaten Ravens, even though “Tennessee Lite” boasts a rookie QB. We’re leaning a bit toward the Ravens +5, but not with much confidence, especially on the road. [Ed. Late change: Taking Steelers -6.]

September 29th, 2008 at 6:26 pm

September 29th, 2008 at 6:39 pm
I am going to be in the minority on this probably but I like the Steelers -5.5.
September 29th, 2008 at 7:19 pm
Can’t wait to see unconvicted murderer and converted Jesus Freak Big Ray get Favre-like slurp tonight. Maybe they should bring OJ back for a cameo. Never seen a bigger story get less press, and a bigger dick get more love…..Why?????
September 29th, 2008 at 7:29 pm
TBL, you want to “tail” another guy going forward?
Check out what this poster, MrBator, was saying about the Chiefs in this post re the Denver game.

September 29th, 2008 at 8:08 pm
Yeah I do feel a bit bad for Chuck, I think they’re trying to make him more likeable by teaming him and Dan up for tonight’s ep.
September 29th, 2008 at 8:11 pm

September 29th, 2008 at 8:13 pm
TBL-thought you watched the show for the hot chicks?
September 29th, 2008 at 8:15 pm
Yeah…taking pills and shots with a guy you don’t like/trust. Smart.
September 29th, 2008 at 8:15 pm
Chuck and Dan Humphrey new bff like Lucas and Smith? I could get used to that.
September 29th, 2008 at 8:15 pm
I can’t stand Landry. I really hope he is written off. FNL needs more meth dealers shaking down Riggins.

September 29th, 2008 at 8:23 pm

Blair needs to get hit by a car.
I’m really diggin’ this Jenny chic.
September 29th, 2008 at 8:46 pm
TBL – Online gambling is a joke now. You cant link bank accounts and checks take 3-4 weeks. A far cry from the golden days of Sportsbook.com and Sportfanatik.com.
The only resort is a bookie. Who, when YOU lose, show up at your door every tuesday. When you win, you gotta call and remind thier degenerate asses.
September 29th, 2008 at 8:47 pm
i put money in sportsbook this weekend with my check card

Nanny Carrie >>>>> Nanny Deb
Not even close.
Nanny Carrie brings that good crazy to the bed
September 29th, 2008 at 9:17 pm
Except with Nanny Carrie I think it’d be a one-shot deal. Pretty sure she’d slit your throat…or bite your head off, preying mantus-style.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:17 pm
Nanny Carrie FTW
September 29th, 2008 at 9:21 pm
The Comet? Really? Looks like the $4.99 rack at B&N to me.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:21 pm
Mason has been in the league 12 years? Wow. I’m getting old.
Re: Online gambling. I was a happy customer of BoS for several years. I even did whatever it took to qualify for a free stay at their onsite casino place (not really sure what it was, it all seemed a bit shady). I didn’t go because I still had to pony up for the plane ticket to Costa Rica. Anyhow, BoS’ founder got busted and the place went dark. Long story short, I enjoyed everything about BoS and online gambling. I didn’t lose my job, or my family, or my car. Much like mariJawhana, this stupid gov’t of ours doesn’t realize where the real money is at.
Oh, I’m sorry. After reading some of these comments, I realize I’ve stumbled upon the wrong blog. Shouldn’t you teenage girls be in bed by now?
September 29th, 2008 at 9:23 pm
Ah snap. Nathan is going to slit his wrist.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:24 pm
v true. i’d upgrade her from simply ‘hot’ to perhaps the hottest female on a non-reality TV show.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:33 pm
guys: Flacco doesn’t look terrible.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:34 pm
And Lucas drops the sledgehammer on Lindsay. Boom.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:34 pm
Boy she didn’t see that one coming. That’s going to end up biting him.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:35 pm
What’s up with this “blindness” movie. Looks freaking weird.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:36 pm
What did he say nwilson?
September 29th, 2008 at 9:36 pm
Things are going good. Just scored 4 free tickets and a parking pass to the MU vs. Ok State game the 11th.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:36 pm
Based on an acclaimed novel about everyone suddenly going blind except for one woman. Some kind of gov’t-induced disease, end of the world-type shit I think. Directed by guy who did City of God and Constant Gardener. Opened to “meh” at Cannes, though.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:37 pm
Just told Lindsey that he was married to Peyton after she stuck her neck out for him and got a book tour set up. Whoopsie.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:41 pm
nwilson26 – THat game should be pretty phenomenal.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:41 pm
KC – Totally right.
Anyone on here that brags about how much money they make online is full of shit, including TBL.
Making money means being able to cash it out.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:43 pm
Lucas is totally trying to fuck his cake and eat it out, too.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:43 pm
I make not a lot of money online. Very not a lot.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:45 pm
Fetch that statement was truly genius.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:45 pm
Note to self, don’t call Nanny Carrie a crazy bitch.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:47 pm
I hope that kid punches her in her ovary.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:48 pm
cgb, that game should be good. 7pm espn I think
September 29th, 2008 at 9:48 pm
Cool Rick, see here.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:48 pm
I am going to be in the minority on this probably but I like the Steelers -5.5.
Actually, you’re in the majority.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:49 pm
Ohhh Nanny Carrie just went off my hot list.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:50 pm
Ok, she’s totally channeling Kristanna Loken in T3 right now.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:51 pm
Nanny Carrie’s so gonna take a bullet.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:53 pm
Bam!!!!!
September 29th, 2008 at 9:53 pm
Haha, Nanny Deb’s the real badass!
September 29th, 2008 at 9:53 pm
ravens need to sack up and go for this
September 29th, 2008 at 9:54 pm
Nanny Deb just moved up on my list.
Nanny Deb >>> Nanny Carrie.
See how fast that happens???
In only 30 comments!
September 29th, 2008 at 9:54 pm
Fetch – you think the Tigers catcher was to blame today? Galaraga came in and completely shit the bed. You would have thought there was some fraction of pressure on the Tigers to win the game. Their bullpen was tense.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:55 pm
Well shit, I don’t know that I’ll ever need to watch again…
September 29th, 2008 at 9:55 pm
Bam!!!!!
You mean BAMA?!!? Roll Tide!!
September 29th, 2008 at 9:55 pm
Thus ends the Nanny Carrie Chronicles.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:56 pm
Not in MU Tiger country Illformula. Not in Tiger country.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:56 pm
Terell Suggs is a strong mofo. He just pulled Big Ben down by one f’n hand.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:57 pm
Mike – that’s nice, but no mention of deposit/withdrawal methods. Most of those are owned by the same companies that own the other ones (I think Ladbrokes, if you have ever been to London) plays a hand in this.)
The point is they cannot now accept bank wire transfers for deposits. This is for some gay ass thing that Bush signed. No reason why. They also damn sure arent gonna wire you money from a foriegn country.
This deserves a post on its own. The broke dudes that charge 100 on thier CC to get 10 bucks then proceed to break even eventually lose. Cashing out is way too expensive now.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:58 pm
Big Ben looks liks ass
September 29th, 2008 at 9:58 pm
“Anyone on here that brags about how much money they make online is full of shit, including TBL.” Cool Rick
Agreed. I have a buddy that brags every big weekend or game he hits, but he is oddly silent some weekends. Bugs me.
I only bet on College Footaball, NFL, and rarely NCAA HOOPS (I hate when I’m completely on the right side of a game and then the last two minutes the leading team pulls everyone and puts in sucks and give up 8 – 12 points at the end. Hate it Hate it Hate it). I’ve won money, I’ve lost money. I never got rich. Even in seasons where I lost money, it was never enough to concern me. I always figured a slight loss over the course of the season was just the fee to pay attention to games like Ucon v Louisville on a Friday night. I always enjoyed it.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:58 pm
BAM!!!!! Again!
September 29th, 2008 at 10:01 pm
This explains 100% the rationale for my gambling.
September 29th, 2008 at 10:01 pm
KC- you mean the “million dollar broke ass”? When the team is covering he is buying drinks and appetizers. Then things fall apart and he leaves you with the bill to, which he later states, “hang out with some ladies.”
September 29th, 2008 at 10:04 pm
Re: Online sports gambling.
“This deserves a post on its own.” Cool Rick
Agreed. With the new laws (or more specifically, the actual enforcement of said laws), online gambling was too much of a headache. The folks that had accounts when BoS went down lost it all. I got lucky, I had a kid just prior to that and just gambled with friends and had no money in the account. How the gov’t can let 85 year old great-grandma’s blow their SS checks at Indian casinos and not let everyone else have the same opportunity to gamble and pay taxes befuddles me. Especially, since most of the economical mess we are in now was due to horrible gambles.
September 29th, 2008 at 10:09 pm
this first half has been interminable.
September 29th, 2008 at 10:10 pm
i have never boasted about cashing out. i tried to cash out post-Kansas Final Four win, but due to a series of stupid shit, it didn’t happen.
September 29th, 2008 at 10:11 pm
anyone else thing that the no call touchdown by baltimore earlier in the game was clearly a TD and any other coach would have paid attention and challenged it? no?
September 29th, 2008 at 10:12 pm
“this first half has been interminable.” TBL
What did we tell you about using five syllable words?
Ravens +5.5 is looking good. Of course, the NFL is set up for the 4th quarter nowadays. Going to be a decent 2nd half (from a gambling perspective. Otherwise, go to bed.)
September 29th, 2008 at 10:12 pm
Well shit, wish I would’ve handcuffed Laron McClain when I had the chance.
September 29th, 2008 at 10:13 pm
I need 5 fantasy points from Hines and that isn’t going to happen. Fuck.
September 29th, 2008 at 10:14 pm
It would be nice if we could get a third man in the booth who actually, ya know, LIKES football.
September 29th, 2008 at 10:14 pm
Kornheiser wants to go to bed.
Tough to blame him.
September 29th, 2008 at 10:15 pm
@mole, I agree. I thought it at least warranted a challenge.
September 29th, 2008 at 10:15 pm
wow, 13-3 at the half?
I couldn’t agree more with TK. I won’t be staying up much later.
September 29th, 2008 at 10:15 pm
“Anyone on here that brags about how much money they make online is full of shit, including TBL.
i have never boasted about cashing out. i tried to cash out post-Kansas Final Four win, but due to a series of stupid shit, it didn’t happen.” Tbl
I’ll go with TBL here. I’ve been reading this site since back in the day when he’d post something and there would be no replies. From what I recall, he doesn’t talk a whole lot about gambling and I’ve never saw a, “I won Five Bills on the Bulls last night! I knew they were going to cover that three points!” My perception is he gambles for interest sake and doesn’t expect to be living in a penthouse in Vegas picking games anytime soon.
September 29th, 2008 at 10:16 pm
TBL- didnt mean anything like that. But that proves the point. These sites get you in and make it worthless to cash out (by high fees) so you just roll it all on some stupid game. The only times I made money on .com gamblings is going 110 on halfs and games. Laying a lot. sometimes I would lose my mind with all the shit floating out there.
The thing is this new law makes no sense. Is it to combat terrorists? Yeah, Bin Laden is fixing fucking games from a cave.
September 29th, 2008 at 10:16 pm
TBL, how am I doing in our league?
September 29th, 2008 at 10:18 pm
i switched over to ‘i think i love my wife’ with Chris Rock. he just got jacked by Omar (from the wire!). this movie is funny.
kerry washington is sexy as hell
September 29th, 2008 at 10:19 pm
SG – You are winning, 119-104. He has Hines Ward. So you could still lose if he scores twice.
September 29th, 2008 at 10:20 pm
oh, shit. he also has the Baltimore D … but as soon as the Steelers score, their 13 points will become less.
Close one!
i have rallied to win behind Reed, Mendenhall and the Steelers. I could still lose of Mendenhall fumbles three times and the D gets carved up. 95-90
September 29th, 2008 at 10:21 pm
wow, 13-3 at the half?
correction. 19-3 at half.
September 29th, 2008 at 10:26 pm
I hate our league. The scoring is retarded, two QBs is retarded, and the fact that I have to pay yahoo money just to see my fucking fantasy stats FOR A NON MONEY LEAGUE is really super extremely retarded.
September 29th, 2008 at 10:30 pm
and the fact that I have to pay yahoo money just to see my fucking fantasy stats FOR A NON MONEY LEAGUE
you HAVE to? Or you could just wait until morning and see the stats from the previous day.
September 29th, 2008 at 10:33 pm
i switched over to ‘i think i love my wife’ with Chris Rock. he just got jacked by Omar (from the wire!). this movie is funny.
I turned off the game and am 1/2 through Chris Rock’s HBO stand-up special I TiVo’d last week. He’s got soem great lines in it. I LMAO at some of the McCain lines.
September 29th, 2008 at 10:38 pm
No, it has yet to show me any stats until after the Monday night game, illformula. But nice attempt at being a know-it-all.
I don’t HAVE to do anything, which is why I’m not paying. It’s just one of the many irritants in my day.
September 29th, 2008 at 10:39 pm
dude, Flacco’s impressive. i’m kind of stunned right now.
September 29th, 2008 at 10:40 pm
jpq-That shit was funny. He clowned McCain. His stuff about racism was funny too.
Did you just see Flaco fuck up the Steelers D?
September 29th, 2008 at 10:41 pm
TBl-Flaco can thank the JOnathan Ogdenless O-line.
September 29th, 2008 at 10:43 pm
Tampa:Yeah, I’m back to the game. Thank God for TiVO! I’ll catch the rest of Rock another time-lol
September 29th, 2008 at 10:46 pm
How is the Ravens D consistently this good year after year?
September 29th, 2008 at 10:47 pm
Sounds like you live the tough life, sportsgal116. I bet a large percentage of Americans would be content in life if stat tracker was one of their daily causes for concern.
September 29th, 2008 at 10:48 pm
Tom Zebakowski sighting! I didnt think he made the show.
September 29th, 2008 at 10:48 pm
Yet you choose to bitch about it SG. Openly, to anyone who reads…
September 29th, 2008 at 10:58 pm
StatTracker. $10 bucks for 17 weeks. This is not something that keeps me up at nights. I’ve played in a bunch of FF leagues across different platforms and I got to say I’m a Yahoo man. Entirely too easy to use.
We got a game!
September 29th, 2008 at 10:59 pm
Nice play.
September 29th, 2008 at 11:03 pm
Fools that went to sleep.
September 29th, 2008 at 11:03 pm
wow
September 29th, 2008 at 11:03 pm
holy shit that will blow up any bet that was looking good … 17-13 Pitt
September 29th, 2008 at 11:04 pm
Awesome.
September 29th, 2008 at 11:04 pm
Flacco isn’t doing so hot. This game just did a complete 180. Ray Lewis is not happy.
September 29th, 2008 at 11:05 pm
Upon replay… let me remit my Flacco comment. Dude didn’t have a chance.
4th quarter. It is where the NFL lives. This might be good.
September 29th, 2008 at 11:06 pm
Damnit. Getting 6pts is plenty if the offense doesn’t do that type of shit.
September 29th, 2008 at 11:31 pm
So does Heath Miller not exist?
September 29th, 2008 at 11:37 pm
Tampa -
Been watching that. I assume they are keeping him in for protection.
September 29th, 2008 at 11:44 pm
Yes.
September 29th, 2008 at 11:52 pm
I’m glad I put some scratch on the Ravens.
September 29th, 2008 at 11:53 pm
Watching Real Sex on HBO apparently there is an adult baby Dominatrix underground that is really gross. I’m deeply disturbed.
September 30th, 2008 at 12:01 am
a couple yrs ago in college i was watching that shit late night and people were into fucking on top of holiday meals…people pouring baked beans on their asses…hands and knees into mashed potatoes
seriously fucked up shit…haunted my dreams
September 30th, 2008 at 12:23 am
wheres your shit talking about ben and hot routes now jaws? you pittsburgh hating cocksucker. he had so much glee whenever flacco (flocko to his retard brain).
