Kimbo is Dead; Long Live ManRam
Baseball, Television October 4th. 2008, 11:29pm
With EliteXC officially death rattling and Kimbo Slice on his way to the after party, feel free to settle in and talk Dodgers-Cubs. It’s an elimination game and the Dodgers are up 2-0. I won’t be sticking around to update the score or talk SNL, (Ann Hathaway is hosting; The Killers are preforming.) but know that I’m here in spirit. If anything outrageous happens over night, send Imig an e-mail.

And Kevin Duckworth died. Dropped the ball twice, TBL.

Who’d going to set the record for coming back to SNL, Tina Fey or Lovitz?
October 4th, 2008 at 11:34 PM
Update: Ken Shamrock isn’t fighting tonight.
October 4th, 2008 at 11:35 PM
@ CRM – Man, I hope they find someone Kimbo can fight. He’ll take them down easily, though…
October 4th, 2008 at 11:40 PM
Damnit!! I was hoping to see Kenny Wayne Shamrock tonight!
October 4th, 2008 at 11:49 PM

October 5th, 2008 at 12:00 AM
Anne Hathaway’s body is outstanding.
October 5th, 2008 at 12:05 AM
I went to high school w 50 girls hotter than Anne Hathaway. Don’t understand the crazy attraction.
October 5th, 2008 at 12:09 AM
She’s not one of my faves, but she’s really hot.
October 5th, 2008 at 12:12 AM

DING DONG THE WITCH IS DEAD THE WITCH IS DEAD
get the fuck out cubs. take your stupid ass japanese headbands and shove them up your ass cubs fans. invest some of that sale money into an ace who isnt an overrated headcase and some people who can swing a fucking bat in the playoffs.
and yes im fully aware the whitesox are staring down the barrel of a sweep, but there were no expectations for that team this year and we didnt have to listen to the media cuming all over themselves about the south siders all year like we did with you fucks.
October 5th, 2008 at 1:14 AM
Fuck em’. I knew the Dodgers would win the series.
October 5th, 2008 at 1:15 AM
god hates the cubs, manny says so. and who could argue?
October 5th, 2008 at 1:16 AM
We’ll hear more “curse” talk. But there’s no curse here. All of the Cubs bats fell asleep in this series.
Now gotta wait and see who comes out from the Brewers vs Phillies series.
October 5th, 2008 at 1:17 AM

*checks espn.com*

October 5th, 2008 at 1:17 AM

October 5th, 2008 at 1:18 AM

bam double cheap shot
October 5th, 2008 at 1:20 AM
Rub it in. Just rub it in. I won’t argue back. Cubs fans are the biggest shits in the world.
October 5th, 2008 at 1:23 AM
aside from keeping dempster in too long in game one when it was clear he was handling the ball like michael j fox, i dont think lou should take the blame for this one. its on the players. shit hitting, laughable fielding, and bad pitching
October 5th, 2008 at 1:24 AM
I couldn’t imagine blaming anyone other than the players.
October 5th, 2008 at 1:24 AM
holy crap the trailer park boys movie is on comedy central. for my money there is no better mockumentary outside spinal tap than this show.
October 5th, 2008 at 1:25 AM
We’ll hear more “curse†talk
nah i dont think so
*checks espn.com*
Maybe it was the curse.
okay okay maybe youre right
Maybe? Expect every ESPN head to mention goats, black cats and nerdy-looking guys as the cause of every mistake in 101 years of Cubs baseball.
Look, the Dodgers pitched great, hit great and were hot when it mattered. The Cubs were left discombobulated. They tried everything under the sun to fix it. And they kept shooting themselves in the foot.
There’s no mystery to any of this. The Dodgers played better. The Cubs played their worst baseball of 2008 this past week.
October 5th, 2008 at 1:30 AM
great series.
October 5th, 2008 at 1:31 AM
great series.
No kidding. BTW, Joe Torre – NL Manager of the Year. Thank you Steinbrenners!
October 5th, 2008 at 1:31 AM
When it comes to being a Cubs fan, I’m one of the normal ones, meaning my head isn’t up my ass. Fuck you if any of you think otherwise. I’ll be an outcast before I be a jackass. Leading up to the playoffs, the Dodgers were really the one team that scared me.
We never faced them once after they got Manny. The Dodgers were ready to play and they were by far the better team. Anybody who thinks this is curse related is pretty much a jackass. Congratulations to the Dodgers, they played amazing.
October 5th, 2008 at 1:44 AM
Should we put half of Chicago on suicide watch?
October 5th, 2008 at 1:46 AM
No, I say we let them go through with it.
October 5th, 2008 at 1:48 AM
I think they’re going through with it…one pint at a time!
October 5th, 2008 at 1:54 AM

October 5th, 2008 at 2:25 AM
My mini rant on the Cubs:
One word: embarrassing. This was an absolute SHELL of what was supposed to be the best team in the National League. It is almost worst than last year because a few players actually decided to show up offensively (Lee and DeRosa) but they made up for it with lax defensive plays in a clutch situation. Alfonso Soriano’s approach at the plate works fine in the regular season, but when you scout him hard for three weeks he is the easiest out in the Cubs line-up (Sliders away anyone?) I’m pissed that this team of paid professionals continue to melt when the lights are brightest. Regular season accomplishments might cut it in most of the time, but THIS year with THIS team, the Cubs fan’s deserved better.
October 5th, 2008 at 2:31 AM
Been watching The Trailer Park Boys movie… fucking awesome
October 5th, 2008 at 2:34 AM
I am a recovering Cubs fan – 3 and 1/2 seasons sober… Cubs fans got exactly what they deserved for being the most annoying fan base in sports.
This sums up about 85% of Cubs fans
They are wear Wrigley Field t-shirts, sweatshirts & hats. The White Sox or Cardinals could start playing home games there and they wouldn’t even notice it isn’t the Cubs. They believe in the curse and think things like having a priest bless the dugout before the playoffs is a good idea.
They are think Geovany Soto is the National League MVP and Mike Fontenot & Reed Johnson are All Stars. They blame Steve Bartman for what happened in ‘03.
Enjoy another 100 years of fail…
October 5th, 2008 at 11:14 AM
damn. kimbo got one-punched by some nobody. geez.
October 5th, 2008 at 11:25 AM
Some small wagers for today: Colts -3.5, Packers -3.5, Seahawks +7.5.
October 5th, 2008 at 11:41 AM
I put the over/under on TBL commentators whose first words this morning were “God ,I’ll never drink that much again” at 10.
October 5th, 2008 at 11:58 AM
Woke up this morning. Turned TV on. Lupica was whining about another year of Cubs’ misery. Remembered the Dodgers won last night.
Felt good amidst the headache.
October 5th, 2008 at 12:02 PM
taking sunday off?
October 5th, 2008 at 12:32 PM
Lot of hard work being done on this blog today.
October 5th, 2008 at 12:39 PM
Anyone else get on the Colts -3.5? The Texans QB is out with a virus, might be a good play if the books haven’t adjusted yet.
October 5th, 2008 at 1:00 PM
Why has my Fox turned into Black Starz Network? Is the Lions game blacked out?
October 5th, 2008 at 1:01 PM
a lot of games are axed because of a dispute with Time Warner
October 5th, 2008 at 1:01 PM
CR that might be an upgrade over the lions game
October 5th, 2008 at 1:05 PM
Daddy Day Camp followed by triple episodes of something called Angela Anaconda? This is absurd.
Sandi- link on this dispute? Was this the trade off for finally getting the big ten network?
