The Blame Game
1-liner, Baseball October 9th. 2008, 1:15pmNo longer are people blaming the weak MLB postseason TV ratings just on the Yankees’ absence; Sarah Palin is getting dragged into it. The NFL better get an excuse ready for when the Patriots and Colts miss the playoffs. (Media Life)

I don’t even have any clue what channel TBS is on. What shows do they have on?

Did anyone see Palin in hooker boots?

I’ll give credit to Sarah Palin for one thing: she has gotten hockey some attention in the press. Maybe not around here, but that’s okay. I forgive you, TBL. It’s not like the regular season starts tonight. Maybe the first Top Shelf of the season will be up by the time I get back from my coffee break.

Saved by the bell reruns.

The NFL is immune from bad ratings.
October 9th, 2008 at 1:28 pm
damn, that is not something that needs to be printed twice.
October 9th, 2008 at 1:28 pm
not as if the Colts and Pats have that huge of followings around the country. The ratings will be there. Especially with 3 NFC East teams involved.

Things that are recession proof:
1. Booze
2. Drugs
3. Porn
4. NFL

Tyler Perry is an ass who doesn’t care about the working people of America and is one of Obama’s biggest supporters.

KC – the NFL is recession proof for now. if the economy stays in the shitter, people might not be able to go to games, causing games not to be sold out, and in turn creating black outs in their home markets

Having lived in Wisconsin for 5 years, I can tell you that this statistic is 100% true. As long as the Packers weren’t practicing, people cared about the Brewers, and once in a while the Bucks. But as soon as camp opened for the Pack, it was almost all Pack, nearly all the time. The only thing to interrupt Pack talk was Saturday Badger games.

Chargers barely avoid the blackout as it is.
October 9th, 2008 at 1:38 pm
The Brewers sold out thirty-something straight games until camp opened up for the Packers. they still had good crowds but most people were interested in the Packers and that pussy Aaron Rodgers.

Um, you do realize that TBS slaughtered their competition in the ratings when the games were on right? They won both major demos (AD 18-34, AD 25-49). Sure ratings may be down from last year (understandable with no new york team), but TBS is very very very happy about where they are. The money is rolling in for them.
October 9th, 2008 at 6:22 pm
Newsflash- until there are only three channels again, ratings will continue to go down for everything.
