Sunday Roundup: Holy Toledo!
Baseball, Cheerleaders, College Football, MMA, NASCAR, NBA, NFL, Politics October 12th. 2008, 1:20pm
Ah, football. Glorious football! Enjoy the games today boys and girls. I know everyone is probably a little tired today after all that college football action last night. And that barn burner of a ALCS game. And I know the Philadelphia area readers are extra tuckered out from booing stuff.
I’ll be stopping in with updates throughout the day. If you need me, I’ll be sitting on my couch, watching football. If anytime crazy transpires and you think I should be notified, e-mail me @ alumnigonzo@gmail.com.
The headline is a bit too obvious, but the press corps don’t think so. (The Zone Blitz)
Division 1-AA also had a #1-#5 match up yesterday. (DNR Online)
Red Sox fans aren’t really worried. (Josh Q. Public)
John McCain will appear on Letterman. He’s totally going to show up this time. (AP)

The Vikings are up 2-0 on the Lions. That ought to do it.

I think this game is going to end 2-0. Thanks Dan Orlovsky for running out of the end zone.

Here’s hoping that my bet the Lions cover a 13.5 spread goes better than my LSU bet last night. Show of hands, who else lost money on that one?

“Houston, We Have a Problem” is still the overused headline leader in the clubhouse. I’m sure we’ll see a few dozen more if they lose again today.

D-III had a #1- #4 matchup yesterday in the Mt. Union vs. Capital game(not that anyone other than me cares, but hey; the championship game is played practically in my back yard, and I’m a fan of small college ball). Once again, the Purple Raiders showed their dominance in a 49-7 romp over the Crusaders. Since 1999, MU has gone an amazing 127-5(no, that’s not a typo).

holy shit what a turn of events in the skins game!
wash pass batted in the air, caught by a skins lineman, who rumbles forward … and fumbles!
Rams recover it and run it back 80 yards for a TD. 10-7 St. Louis, 30 seconds left in the half
October 12th, 2008 at 2:31 PM
3 fumbles by the skins. halftime. ouch.

No way. Wait till you see what happens if the Eagles lose to the Niners. Andy Reid might want to stay out west during the Bye week if they lose today.

Bruce, we played against MU a couple of years ago in the semifinal round of the playoffs. It was like playing against an all-star team.

Big hat tip for the inclusion of the JMU-Richmond game in the roundup. Caught the game on Comcast Sports South – awesome game, awesomer (word?) ending! Go Dukes!
