Joba Chamberlain Arrested
Baseball, Heavy (Alleged) Drinking, Legal October 19th. 2008, 11:50amThe New York Yankees’ starter of the future was picked up by Nebraska State Patrol last night around 1am. He was speeding, had an open container and was “allegedly” driving under the influence when police stopped him on US 77 outside his hometown of Lincoln.
The county attorney will likely file charges on Monday. For now, Joba is lodged at Cornhusker Place Detox in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Whether or not he was celebrating the Red Sox big win last night is still in question.

I clicked on that Cornhusker Place Detox and it is a rehab place. So if you get “arrested” for a DUI you get sent to rehab automatically? That’s kinda wierd.

@TBL – It’s nice when tips show up in the comments.
@rick – They feel like it’s a more effective way to deal with the drunks.

Do you realize how drunk you have to be to get picked up for a DUI in Nebraska? Living in Nebraska is like living in 1970.

Great, the Tony Romo of Major League Baseball strikes again.
Imagine how much we’re going to hear about him if he actually gets into the starting rotation permanently or actually realizes his potential. Until them, can the media please cool it with this guy?

Drunk driving seems to be a joke to a lot of people, unless it happens in certain parts of the country, or to certain people. I don’t get it…
