Joe Posnanski Weights in on Holtz and Hitler
1-liner, College Football, ESPN October 23rd. 2008, 2:30pmHoltz: “Am I wrong or is Lou Holtz about one step away from looking into the camera and shouting, “Go to your window and scream, ‘I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore!’†The day after the wacky Hitler thing, in the University of Texas press box, I caught him on television again, and THIS TIME he seemed to be making the point that the firing of Tommy Bowden at Clemson was why this country is in the bad shape that it’s in. I’m no sociologist, but it seemed a bit of a stretch to me.” (Joe Posnanski)

Lou Holtz is fucking nuts. I don’t understand how some people can’t comprehend that. Just because the old man had a helluva coaching career and knows football doesn’t mean he’s good for TV or a good analyst.

Yeah Holtz is insane. Everybody knows that this country is in the bad shape that it’s in because of Brett Favre.

I say leave the jackass on in front of the camera. let him continue to destroy any legacy that he had.

I don’t watch because of Lou and May. Mostly May, because of his arrogance and lack of research. Lou is just toast. It’s a trainwreck waiting to happen, especially on live TV.

Daunte Culpepper has reconsidered his retirement plans and is making himself available for the right opportunity. “I didn’t think I was good enough for this league anymore,” said Culpepper. “But then I saw that Tyler Thigpen and Ingle Martin were battling for the starting job in KC, so I began to re-evaluate.”

He used to really annoy me, but for whatever reason, he’s grown on me enough that I actually kind of like him. His insight, when comprehensible, is second to none, and sitting next to Mark May makes him seem even more intelligent.

Holtz has about as much Insight as the dump I just dropped in the men’s room. Yeah, he has some charming little old man sayings and can be good for a laugh due to his ongoing unintentional Daffy Duck impression, but he’s the biggest homer on network television.
And I like Mark May.

I want to punch Mark May in his vagina.

Lou Holtz is awesome BECAUSE of all this crap. He’s batshit insane, but he’s my favourite insane coach who led Notre Dame to a national championship.

Fire this old man and get it over with

There is a reason that companies have a mandatory retirement age. Holtz needs to go play with the great-great-grandkids and stop speaking.
People live too god damn long nowadays. THAT is what’s wrong with this country!

Mark May is like, literally, a nerd.
