Charles Barkley, the Voice of Reason
1-liner, Media Gossip/Musings, Politics, Race October 28th. 2008, 8:45amSir Charles: Barkley spoke to CNN. He said many things, perhaps most important: He’s running for Governor of Alabama in 2014. “Racism is the greatest cancer of my lifetime … I think the polls are absolutely useless … There [are] seven times as many white people on welfare as black. Because there’s more white people in America. But when I see a story on welfare on television, they only show black people.” (CNN)

A rich man running on the Democratic ticket? Fuck me in the beard.

He may be the first person to actually run with a “Chris Rock” platform.

How sad of a state is Alabama if you actually consider voting for a gambling addict as your governor? I like Chuck, but not as my governor.
I do have to say one thing about one of the comments from Chuck that I agree on wholeheartedly. If America votes Obama in as President, it shows a HUGE change in the views of White America. Sure, we have some scumbags out there who will never change, but who would have thunk an African American(partially) would not only be on a major party ticket, but the leading candidate to be president. For people on this site under 40 years old, you may not think it is a big deal, but those of us older than 40, this is a big step forward.

“Is it 4:20 yet?” is over 40?
Didn’t see that coming.

It’s a big deal to those of us under 40 and grew up in the south.

I just hope that I’m still alive in 2014. Hell, I may even register to vote. Last time I voted for a President it was Ross Perot.

He promised to also bring the Tossed Salad Man to Alabama’s schools.
