Inhale. Hold it … hold it … exhale. Greg Oden will be OK. Yes, last night’s season-opening injury is terribly depressing. How did x-rays on his foot go from “negative” to “inconclusive?” This we do not know. NBA blogger reaction to his debut:

People are already beginning to jump off bridges just as they did with the Brandon Roy surgery this summer. I don’t know what to say other than I can’t go there anymore because it’s just too crazy and exhausting. It’s probably a minor deal. If it’s not a minor deal the worst case scenario is probably that Greg is out another few weeks, misses the devastating early part of the schedule, and returns when things get easier for us anyway. (Blazer’s Edge)

He bricked a couple of point-blank hook shots in the first half and generally handled the ball with all the grace and fluidity of Kwame Brown, if Kwame was trying to play in oven mitts. (Dime Mag)

After a wrist injury in college, the knee surgery, a sprained ankle in the pre-season and now this – is it safe to say that Oden is injury prone or am I jumping the gun here? (NBA Noise)

Although Oden may just be experiencing a lot of bad luck, it might be time to wonder if he’s ever going to withstand the rigors of the NBA season. He’s yet to play three healthy minutes in the NBA. It seems like he’s getting hurt almost constantly. (Steamy Sports)
