Ballin’: Parker Saves the Spurs; Mount Amare Erupts
NBA November 6th. 2008, 10:15am
Spurs 129, T-Wolves 125, 2 OT: It took a career-best 55 points from Tony Parker – including a jumper at the buzzer to force the second OT – for San Antonio to pick up its first victory of the season. Tim Duncan went for 30-16 and his counterpart, Al Jefferson, tallied 30-14.
Atlanta 87, New Orleans 79: Surprise of the night. The 3-0 Hawks knocked the Hornets from the ranks of the unbeaten – in New Orleans – on the strength of 24 from Joe Johnson, and 14 from the new Josh Childress, reserve Flip Murray.
Utah 103, Portland 96: Still no Deron Williams for the Jazz, who improved to 4-0 and were led by 22-9 from Okur and 20-8 from Boozer. The Blazers, who fell to 1-3, got 18 points apiece from Roy and Aldridge.
Phoenix 113, Indiana 103: Amare went bananas with 49 points on a vicious of jams. His night included a great piece of acting after this thunderous dunk on the head of Jeff Foster. Can’t believe the ref actually thought tiny Travis Diener could knock Amare down like that.
Milwaukee 112, Washington 104, OT: The Wiz choked away a 14-point fourth quarter lead and remain winless. The Bucks didn’t have Michael Redd, but got big games from these three guys: Ramon Sessions (22), Luke Ridnour (20), and rookie Luc Richard Mbah a Moute (17).

The Wiz f’ing blow. It’s gonna be a long season.
November 6th, 2008 at 10:23 AM
No Lebron? Cmon TBL, your boy had 41 points 9 rbs and 6 dimes. im shocked
Jeff Foster got worked last night by Amare.
Kobe had a great game with 27 points in his win over the Clips
November 6th, 2008 at 10:24 AM
If Lebron keeps hitting free throws and Delonte keeps making 3s, this shit is over.
I have my doubts about both, though each guy is still pretty young so improvement isn’t wholly unexpected.
November 6th, 2008 at 10:25 AM
Ramon Sessions is such a steal. I can’t believe the Bucks started the year with that piece of shit Luke Ridnour running the show. How many chances is that guy going to get? He’s awful.
November 6th, 2008 at 10:25 AM
lebron had 41 and i think he took 4 jump shots all night.
drew gooden added some sweet chops to the pimpin goat.

If Lebron keeps hitting free throws and Delonte keeps making 3s, this shit is over.
That shit wont happen so this shit is over.

Mayo had 28 on solid shooting. He’s been shooting more than Gay, surprisingly. (And shooting better)
November 6th, 2008 at 10:30 AM
NEVER doubt Swamp Thang. Irish knows.

+1 YYSA

November 6th, 2008 at 10:35 AM
@nick p- did you enjoy yourself in the front row last night? any stars out in Cleveland?
November 6th, 2008 at 10:37 AM
Actually, Ludacris and CC were in attendance. That’s about as good as it gets for C-L-E.
November 6th, 2008 at 10:37 AM
Yea Amare went into beast mode last night. Sure he hammered dunks on everyones head but his midrange game is ridculous this year. Not to mention his FT shooting.
November 6th, 2008 at 10:41 AM
Amare became just the seventh player in the past two decades to have a 40-10-5-5 game, and the first in seven years. He was 15-15 from the line last night
November 6th, 2008 at 10:42 AM
what was with Amare’s gay ass goggles? he get hit in the eye recently?
November 6th, 2008 at 10:44 AM
Preseason during practice Boris Diaw got him pretty bad in one eye.
November 6th, 2008 at 10:44 AM
Who else? WAG, but Robinson, Hakeem, Bird, Magic, Jordan, ‘Nique?
November 6th, 2008 at 10:45 AM
Nick P, did you really get front row seats?
November 6th, 2008 at 10:47 AM
what was with Amare’s gay ass goggles? he get hit in the eye recently?
he did in pre season.
November 6th, 2008 at 10:47 AM
thanks YYSA

There were some pretty nasty dunks in the Nuggets-Warriors game. I’m concvinced that the Broncos Def. Coord. also coaches the Nuggets on how to play defense. And the Steelers offensive line coach teaches them how to box out.
November 6th, 2008 at 10:50 AM
Big Dog?
November 6th, 2008 at 10:51 AM
@nick p- Rick Barry, Bird, Adrian Dantley. is all i could find
November 6th, 2008 at 10:52 AM
The Pacers were a total dud in the second half yesterday. That was painful.
November 6th, 2008 at 10:55 AM
Nope. Clifford.
November 6th, 2008 at 10:59 AM
They’ll blow it in the playoffs
/Guy about Cleveland from Major League

The Pacers were a total dud in the second half yesterday. That was painful.
November 6th, 2008 at 11:03 AM
They’ve got a nice core there in Memphis. If they can get some consistency in the front court and find a scorer off the bench, they could be decent in the next year or two.
November 6th, 2008 at 11:03 AM
UFmeUGetSTD…what do you have against cleveland, the city? seriously?
November 6th, 2008 at 11:08 AM
He still sucks… on the defensive end.
November 6th, 2008 at 11:09 AM
He was pretty dominant last night.
November 6th, 2008 at 11:10 AM
rookie Mario “puff daddy” Chalmers set the Heat franchise record for most steals in a game last night with 9. not bad for a weed smoker
November 6th, 2008 at 11:11 AM
He was pretty dominant last night
you also need to take in the fact that he played against the Pacers and Jeff freaking Foster. Kobe didnt get that much recognition for posting 81 against Toronto.
November 6th, 2008 at 11:12 AM
On the defensive end?
November 6th, 2008 at 11:13 AM
Because like I commented yesterday. He is an offensive force, but to be an elite player he has to become at least able on the defensive end.
November 6th, 2008 at 11:15 AM
The Bulls are like my football fantasy team. Their bench is as good as their starters, but their starters suck ass.
November 6th, 2008 at 11:15 AM
Yes on the Defensive end. 5 blocks 2 steals If i remember right. but yes Irish you are also right about the Pacers thing. When Indiana gets healthy they will be much more difficult
November 6th, 2008 at 11:16 AM
dont get me wrong YYSA. He was awesome last night
November 6th, 2008 at 11:23 AM
Hawks off to a 3-0 start. So, based on our shitty history, that means it’s time for a trade.
NEWS UPDATE: The Hawks trade Joe Johnson and Josh Smith to the Celtics for the rights to Eric Montross and a burned out 71′ Pinto.
November 6th, 2008 at 11:25 AM
What? The Hawks got robbed. They should have at least gotten Bias’ tombstone out of the deal too.
/Looking around cautiously for lightning that may strike me…
November 6th, 2008 at 11:39 AM
The Heat have been great at home. They sound fun to watch.
November 6th, 2008 at 11:39 AM
Yeah anyone can look like a defensive force against Foster… he still sucks as an all around player IMO.
November 6th, 2008 at 11:41 AM
@Spencer I am a Michigan/Detroit everything fan through family living there, going to school there etc, parents just happened to move to the south when I was young, and now I live in KC, with 2 brothers at KU, although I went to OkState…so my sports culture is pretty broad….
So I bash on the whole damn state of Ohio….albeit a bit nicer and civilized than you bash on Michigan sports. Then again, thats the norm for the fanbases.
November 6th, 2008 at 11:44 AM
@ Maggs
Is Steve Nash an elite player?
November 6th, 2008 at 11:44 AM
UFmeUGetSTD…i see. tho keep it to sports…i don’t think either of us (cleveland and detroit) have anything to brag about these days.
November 6th, 2008 at 11:47 AM
I did, I referenced a sports movie, during a sports scene, about a sports team (Indians), losing…..
I don’t believe I every bragged about Detroit….never lived there, I go up summers and stick to the lakes, dunes or Boyne Mt.
Besides flying in for games and such…
November 6th, 2008 at 12:09 PM
hey, im not trying to start shit or anything. i was just curious, that’s all.
November 6th, 2008 at 12:31 PM
You don’t have to keep it to sports anyway. Cleveland sucks and they know it.
Nash’s lack of defensive ability (at PG, not exactly a defensive position) makes Amare’s lack even more of a glaring hole in his game (at C, THE defensive position). You don’t draft a PG for D, you do sometimes draft a C for D.
November 6th, 2008 at 12:34 PM
Maggs agrees that Michigan fans display grace and civility in all that they do.
November 6th, 2008 at 1:45 PM
Why would I be nice to a bunch of pigs?
