Justin Tuck Fined $7,500 for Essentially Tackling the QB
1-liner, NFL, Video November 7th. 2008, 5:00pmWeak NFL Fines: Justin Tuck of the Giants for his hit on Brooks Bollinger. “Our job description is basically to destroy a quarterback, but you’ve got to pick and choose how to do it. You can’t hit him in the head, you can’t hit him below the knees. Obviously, you can’t hit him hard, either.” You be the judge – here’s the hit. (NY Times)

Anybody who agrees with the flag and fine is wrong. There is no debate. It’s like asking if you agree with abortion. C’mon, there’s no debate there.

Last time I checked, hundreds of millions of dollars were being spent on the abortion debate. So…umm, how is there no debate there? Is it one of those “I believe something is wrong, so obviously I’m right” sort of non-debate’s?

That is absolutely ridiculous. I am ashamed for the league that they are fining him, that it even came to that. If that tackle becomes a penalty I am going to stop watching pro football altogether.

Thank you tallguy. I find that the more obvious the sarcasm, the lesser the chance is of people noticing it.

I liked it happy. Or as you are apparently called, “gay street”

Joke. Joke. Joke.
I was incensed at the penalty during the game (even Aikman was incredulous) and even more so with the fine. It was a clean hit; I thought that ‘full weight’ rule only involved a QB being piled on when he was already down.
My question is, if there’s no penalty called on the play, is there even a fine?

Thanks Fetch. And NTTAWWT

Seriously, what the fuck is this NTTAWWT shit

not that there’s anything wrong with that.
It took me a long time to figure it out too.

I agree 100%
Of course, my NFL team is the Saints so I’m really looking for any excuse to abandon pro football.

Goodell does the right thing, and rescinds the fine. He hadn’t even seen the play until yesterday…

Two things:
1) Great call to overturn that. I was so pissed on Sunday when they threw that flag. Good thing it was late in the game and the Giants basically had it wrapped up.
2) Next time you link to a video with Joe Buck broadcasting, please warn me so that I can mute it quicker. I had to suffer through 2.5 seconds of Buck before pounding the mute button.
