“Sorry NCAA, you can’t accept ESPN’s $500MM offer. Message Board freaks, bloggers, local columnists, and sports radio buffoons want a playoff.”

while i’ve come to the conclusion that a playoff might wreck the best regular season of any sport, i’m ok with the winners of the four bcs bowls advancing to a final four-type of playoff.

These contracts all have clauses which allow the system to be changed without annihilating the deal; so yes, we actually can.

The only way a college football play-off makes sense is if they make a super conference and not a 119 team league that is Division I. There are certainly flaws now, but it does make the best regular season and every game count. It will never happen, but that never stopped us from talking about anything else.

Just what we need in this country – more government.
Without an aide or an i-phone, that guy couldn’t name all of the teams in the Big-12. He has no idea what he’s talking about except that he thinks a playoff might be popular.

Yeah, we’ve all seen how well the government did getting involved in baseball. Let’s have them put their hands in another item they can fuck up.
I’m all for a playoff, but the government pushing the NCAA to do something is not a good idea.
