Ballin’: Another Double-Double for Oden
NBA November 20th. 2008, 9:45am
Chicago 74, Portland 116: A modest night for Greg Oden – 11 points, 10 rebounds, three blocks – because he only played 17 minutes in a rout. Chicago forgot to show up and fell to 5-7.
Denver 91, San Antonio 81: Coming Sunday to a newspaper near you – a flood of notebook items about how Billups has changed the culture in the mountains. Mr. Big Shot led all scorers with 22 points and Denver improved to 8-4 on the season, but more importantly, seven of eight since CB arrived.
Cleveland 89, Detroit 96: It’s not like the Pistons got the bad end of the AI deal – they’re the only team to defeat the Lakers, and they just snapped the Cavs’ 8-game win streak. Iverson had 23 and Rasheed had 21, while LeBron’s streak if insane games came to an end (8-for-21, 0-for-4 on three’s).
Philadelphia 96, Minnesota 102: Still can’t figure out Philly, which seemed to have righted the ship with four in a row … and then stunk up the joint (1-for-11 from three; 65 percent from the line) in Minnesota, which had one win on the season coming in.
LA Clippers 108, Oklahoma City 88: The best way to end a losing streak is to visit the Dustbowl. The Caveman had 25-14 and the Clippers picked up their second victory of the season. Durant had 18 points to lead the losers.

November 20th, 2008 at 9:48 AM
robert horry is big shot bob. mr. big shot is billups.
November 20th, 2008 at 9:49 AM
Lebron James is the best player in the league
Al Jefferson had a great game last night for the T Wolves. Kevin Love had 9 points
November 20th, 2008 at 9:49 AM
Some love for the Nuggets? Sweet! Yes, we also caught the Spurs in a down period, and at the beginning of the season, but still, 7 of 8? My seat on the bandwagon is getting cushier by the day.
November 20th, 2008 at 9:50 AM
Cavs suck
November 20th, 2008 at 9:51 AM
My Bulls blow. God I miss MJ…
November 20th, 2008 at 9:51 AM
the cavs choked that game away last night. they should have won by 15.
November 20th, 2008 at 9:52 AM
God my Bulls suck. They need to trade a bitch NOW.
Chauncey is saving George Karl’s Job.
November 20th, 2008 at 9:55 AM
Cavs suck
November 20th, 2008 at 9:55 AM
Damn Cavs. Oh well. We play Fraudlanta on Saturday. That’ll get a new win streak started.
November 20th, 2008 at 9:55 AM
irish, you had such an opportunity to do something like this….
November 20th, 2008 at 9:56 AM
We all do, beerman. Except, cursedcleveland. He will testify to His Airness sucking ass.
November 20th, 2008 at 9:57 AM
The Caveman had 25-14
good game by the Caveman. too bad he got dunked on last night by Durant
November 20th, 2008 at 9:57 AM
Is this going to be ballin from now on, “7 footer scores double double, oh my!!!”.
November 20th, 2008 at 9:57 AM
robert horry is big shot bob. mr. big shot is billups.
It’s actually Big Shot *R*ob, but my point is that Chauncey has never truly earned any nickname like that. One playoff run of making a few jumpshots isn’t enough. Oh, and it’s trademark infringement!
November 20th, 2008 at 9:58 AM
Even though the Nuggets haven’t played the “elite” teams of the league. These games they’ve been winning are ones they used to lose. 7-1 since CB showed up. They’d probably be 4-4, or 5-3 in that span if not for Billups.
November 20th, 2008 at 9:59 AM
Cavs suck.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:00 AM
Lets see how much Detroit loves AI after a few of his 5-25, 1 assist games, which you know are coming. Dude is a chucker.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:00 AM
listen to Hef.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:02 AM
I agree with Sparty.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:05 AM
It’s actually Big Shot *R*ob
i believe *B*ob is a nickname for *R*ob.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:07 AM
There will be far more of the 25 point 7 assist, 3 rebound, 3 steal games from him than the occasional off shooting night. Plus Detroit now has a player who can consistently put his club on his back for weeks at a time when Rasheed and Rip decides to sleep walk through games, instead of being called Mr. Big Shot because he trimmed an 8 point deficit to 5 with a 3 pointer in the 3rd quarter.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:11 AM
Mr. Big ShotHuman hedgehog led all scorers with 22 points and Denver improved to 8-4 on the season, but more importantly, seven of eight since CB arrived.November 20th, 2008 at 10:12 AM

I actually believe Robert Horry is a cocksucker.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:13 AM
It’s amazing how much my opinion on the Cavs swung from “Hurray, we’re good this year” to “Awww shit, this year is going ot be just like last year” in the space of one game.
I think the Cavs will win the conference in the playoffs, but they’re consistently going to lose to the elite teams during the regular season.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:14 AM
Joakim Noah played 10 minutes in the 1st half last night and had 5 fouls at the break.
Tyrus Thomas had a turnover on 3 straight possessions where he touched the ball, one of which he threw the ball straight to a guy in a Portland jersey and another where he threw the ball 90 mph into the 10th row.
Ben Gordon had 2 straight possessions on offense where he dribbled at the top of the key for 10 seconds or so and then launched a contested shot from 30 feet that hit the back of the rim. The Bulls were already down by over 20 when he did this.
Drew Gooden hit the side of the backboard on an open look from the free-throw line.
Watching this team on offense is like watching a pickup game at the Y. You’ve got a chucker (Gordon), a guy who can’t dribble and throws up wild shots near the rim (Ty Thomas and Noah), and a guy who tries really hard but has no discernable skills (Noce). Blow it up!
November 20th, 2008 at 10:14 AM
I actually believe Robert Horry is a cocksucker.
actually, i believe you are 100% correct tampa bo.

CRM would be outraged that James Posey was not included in your conversation of who deserves to be called mr big shot.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:15 AM
Yes.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:16 AM
I dont think that happened, they were on the 2nd night of back to back roadies and couldn’t finish the game, who cares, its November.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:18 AM
@Happy: I hate Ben Gordon. He’s so overrated.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:19 AM
“Awww shit, this year is going ot be just like last yearâ€
they just won 8 straight. did they do that last year?
November 20th, 2008 at 10:21 AM
/true. very true.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:21 AM
cavs ran outta gas…i was sad.
irish…if you wanna quit saying that thing everyday, you can stop whenever you want.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:22 AM
Nick, he’s only overrated by people outside of Chicago who don’t have to watch him 80 times a year. The best move Paxson has made as a GM so far has been not giving that guy $60 million. Kill me.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:23 AM
@Happy: I hate Ben Gordon. He’s so overrated.
I hate him too. Hes fucking awful but he was great at UConn.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:24 AM

@grungedave- you think Yao will play this weekend vs Orlando? i wouldnt be surprised if he did not
Indiana is going down Friday night. Jeff Foster is going to get torched

November 20th, 2008 at 10:25 AM
Happy-Paxon needs to make moves hes almost on Jerry Krause Status. Im still upset on trading Aldridge for Tyrus Thomas.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:25 AM
Oh yeah, forgot about it being the second night of a back to back.
/Late night last night
November 20th, 2008 at 10:29 AM
Paxon needs to make moves
what do you want him to do? and you can’t say “trade deng for kobe”.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:29 AM
Tampa, there are a bunch of Chris Kamen trades that would work. Drew Gooden and his expiring deal with Thomas or Noah for Kamen. Who says no first? If it doesn’t include Rose, the Bulls should say yes to any deal in my opinion. Whatever it is, take it. The Bulls are like my 3-8 fantasy team. You want my only asset Anquan Boldin? He’s yours for nothing.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:31 AM
They showed a stat that the Bulls are 6-54 on the Circus road trip since 1999. That is ridiculous.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:33 AM
The West is like the SEC this year. Down, but still good.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:34 AM
Is Luol Deng still “untouchable?”
November 20th, 2008 at 10:34 AM
is Kamen much of an upgrade? the bulls need a big who can score on a consistent basis.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:37 AM
Kamen is an upgrade if hes putting up numbers like this in the West he will help out alot in the East.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:38 AM
Short of drafting one, that’s a tough get. I’d settle for someone who doesn’t get layups blocked and doesn’t allow the other team to beat him on positioning for a missed free throw.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:40 AM
is the upgrade of Kamen worth giving up noah for? they have that aaron gray dude who is the exact same player.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:40 AM
Hells yeah.
You lost me.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:43 AM
Winner!
November 20th, 2008 at 10:44 AM
I didn’t know Chris Kamen was an overweight pansy that can’t do anything but get in the way. Let’s get him!
November 20th, 2008 at 10:44 AM
i look at gray as the same player as kamen. white and slow.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:47 AM
Kamen is awesome.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:49 AM
TheRealAC – the only way my trade idea isn’t getting done is if LA realizes they’re getting screwed. Chris Kamen is so much better than Aaron Gray that I shouldn’t even be responding here. He’s also not slow. Yes he’s white, but that’s where the similarities end.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:51 AM
TheRealAC also believes that Kevin Love has a lot of Kevin McHale in him
November 20th, 2008 at 10:52 AM
i don’t disagree that kamen is better than gray. but i also don’t view kamen as that great of an upgrade as well. i think that what they’d have to trade away to get him will not be worth it in the long run. if you want to trade expiring deals for someone, the bulls should look for a player better than kamen.
November 20th, 2008 at 10:57 AM
Paxson has been saying that for 3 years now and look we’re it’s gotten him. Noah is horrible and will be unless he gets some serious coaching. He’s not getting that in Chicago.
November 20th, 2008 at 11:02 AM
we’re = where. Oops. Sorry sportsgal
November 20th, 2008 at 11:06 AM
Who is Chris Kamen? I know Chris Kaman but not Chris KamEn.
November 20th, 2008 at 11:07 AM
Noah was never that good to begin with. He is not strong enough to have a presence in the post. He has no offensive game to speak of, either inside or outside. He has decent footwork which allows him to be relatively effective on defense against same size guys.
Noah received a LOT of credit for playing on a talented team and having a talented low post presence in Horford. Dude always got wayyyy more publicity than his play deserved because of his father and his hair. He was a nice college player, but nothing more. He will struggle to find a way to make an impact on the Association.
November 20th, 2008 at 11:08 AM
i just don’t think kamAn is going to do much, if anything to help the bulls win games.
November 20th, 2008 at 11:11 AM
ever hear of Kamen noodles?
/be here all week.
November 20th, 2008 at 11:13 AM
He’s a guy who would have done a lot better against Greg Odan last night.
November 20th, 2008 at 11:16 AM
Kaman is from Grand Rapids, MI (about 3 hours from Chicago). He’s super close with his family and likes hunting. I think being back in the midwest would be good for him. Plus going from the Western Conference to the Eastern Conference is like an AL pitcher going to the NL. He’s bound to have better stats.
November 20th, 2008 at 11:18 AM
SG…didn’t he go to CMU? YOU’RE A HOMER.
HOMER!!!
November 20th, 2008 at 11:19 AM
The Cavaliers lost their third straight game against the Pistons. They have lost five of their last six and 10 of their last 12 games against Detroit.
November 20th, 2008 at 11:20 AM
This guy likes hunting?
November 20th, 2008 at 11:21 AM
Speaking of CMU, anyone know the results from the game last night?
November 20th, 2008 at 11:21 AM
early word from the browns is Brady Quinn has a broken finger. not sure if its on the throwing hand or not.
November 20th, 2008 at 11:22 AM
CMU lost to ball state in a pretty close game last night.
November 20th, 2008 at 11:23 AM
What happened in their last playoff series?
/not even a Cavs fan
November 20th, 2008 at 11:24 AM
Nope but I definitely know who’s never getting a beej from me again.
November 20th, 2008 at 11:26 AM
Ball State won 31-24.
Also, Denver fans and Billups lovers: He will be pretty steady and sometimes downright great for you during the regular season. But wait until the postseason and he’ll fade, just like he has the last two years for Detroit. Billups’ legs get tired in the postseason. Even last year when he played less minutes, he still got tired. So, Denver, be ready for another first round loss.

Dallas (without Josh Howard) beat the Rockets (without Yao)last night. I’m still waiting for the game where Ron Artest does shoot like 18% from the field. That will be a great day for me.
November 20th, 2008 at 11:47 AM
fuck it has to be when his hand hit a bills’ players helmet early in the game…
November 20th, 2008 at 11:58 AM
@mmonast: my buddy works on the field crew for the browns and just told me. i can’t find any confirmation anywhere as to when the injury occurred, but that’s the only time i can even think of it happening.
November 20th, 2008 at 2:37 PM
Pistons vs Cavs in Lebron era 2-1.
Cavs couldn’t even get far enough to face the Pistons last year…so we win the rematch.
