On to Texas Tech/Oklahoma
College Football November 22nd. 2008, 7:08pm
Penn State just finished off Michigan State 49-18 in the second half of the Big Ten Double Main Event, which disappointed to the fullest. In South Bend, Syracuse rallied from 13 points down in the 4th quarter to stun Notre Dame 24-23. It was so stunning that Charlie Weis’ waist buttons revolted and blinded the line judge across the field.
Hopefully the Big XII won’t suck the suck out of suck the way the Big 10 did. If Good Ole J.R. has anything to say about it, everyone will be screaming Boomer Sooner at the end of the night in Oklahoma. We’ll see you in the morning. Enjoy the fun and games and be safe out there.
BY GAWD, WE’VE GOT OURSELVES A SLOBBER KNOCKER!

THINGS ARE FIXIN’ TO HEAT UP!!
November 22nd, 2008 at 7:34 PM
Lay the points. The bubble bursts for T Tech.
November 22nd, 2008 at 7:36 PM
GUNS UP!!!
November 22nd, 2008 at 7:36 PM
I just saw that ESPNews has the Notre Dame score as the only story under “breaking news.”
A team that is barely going to be bowl eligible lost a game. I’m surprised CNN and Fox News haven’t picked this up and started going live yet.
November 22nd, 2008 at 7:45 PM
God, I’m so sick of hearing about Notre Fucking Dame.
November 22nd, 2008 at 7:50 PM
Honestly, watching Duke and VaTech is like a car wreck…it’s terrible, but you can’t look away. 7-3 Tech at the end of the third, Duke’s QB is has zero passing yard, but 150 yards on the ground.
November 22nd, 2008 at 7:53 PM
HELLFIRE AND BRIMSTONE!!
November 22nd, 2008 at 7:59 PM
UH OH, YOU KNOW WHAT THAT SOUND MEANS… BUSINESS IS FIXIN’ TO PICK UP!
November 22nd, 2008 at 8:04 PM
sadly they’ll be singing Boomer Sooner tonight. OU -41 TTU – 37. But I hope I’m wrong.
November 22nd, 2008 at 8:05 PM
Stone Cold! Stone Cold! Stone Cold!
November 22nd, 2008 at 8:06 PM
LOUD NOISES!!!!
November 22nd, 2008 at 8:07 PM
I just got back from getting something to eat. VT’s up 7-3? How in the hell did they get 7? The D score?
November 22nd, 2008 at 8:11 PM
I’m glad to see that Duke Basketball is sharing their “official network” with their football team tonight.
November 22nd, 2008 at 8:25 PM
Nolan, they scored on an 11 play, 80 yard drive in the last 3 minutes of the first half.
November 22nd, 2008 at 8:26 PM
BY GAWD, THE TEXAS RATTLESNAKE CAME BACK… THE TEXAS RATTLESNAKE STEPPED THROUGH HELL ITSELF TO GO TO WRESTLEMANIA! THEY’RE ON THEIR FEET HERE!!!!
November 22nd, 2008 at 8:32 PM
omfg, what a terrible pass…Azack licks balls.
November 22nd, 2008 at 8:34 PM
Damn, Harrell sure can thread a needle.
November 22nd, 2008 at 8:36 PM
That’s got to be a catch.
November 22nd, 2008 at 8:43 PM
Donald Trump is on my television screen. During the Oklahoma/Texas Tech.
Dear ESPN,
This is why so many people fucking hate you.
Signed,
Sports fans
November 22nd, 2008 at 8:45 PM
Fixed.
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:08 PM
fuck. just turned the game on and TT is down 14-0 and just missed on a 4th down inside the OU 20.
ballgame?
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:10 PM
TT looks terrible. They haven’t even converted a 3rd down yet.
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:11 PM
Well, looks like Harrell’s going to lose the Heisman here. I say give it to Bradford. Fuck McCoy and fuck Scrotumbow.
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:11 PM
Musburger seems to have bet the Sooners and the over.
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:12 PM
TT is doing a great job of making D Murray look like an NFL star. just dusting and clowning defenders.
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:14 PM
Looks like Bob “I Can’t Believe I Ate the Whole Thing” Stoops is going to be getting fellated by the national media later on tonight and tomorrow.
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:17 PM
21-0. cant see TT coming back on the road.
now you gotta wonder if a 63-21 win by OU would be enough to get OU to leapfrog Texas into the national title game.
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:17 PM
Ball game
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:19 PM
I hope OU would leapfrog Texas. Don’t know if they will, but if those two played today OU would certainly win. They now have a healthy running game, which is why they lost the first time.
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:20 PM
wow, some other surprising scores. PSU huge, ND LOST?????
no score on this drive and the red raiders are done.
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:23 PM
oh my gosh
def over
harrell has done more running tonight than he did vs Texas
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:23 PM
Who is the Pac 10’s commissioner? They have some horrific TV contracts. Oregon St. and Arizona are playing a game with Rose Bowl implications on Versus.
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:23 PM
TBL you also advocate buying guns and hoarding gold. Your predictions and/or opinions don’t carry weight. Ask Berrian.
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:26 PM
cool_rick
+100
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:27 PM
“Playfake … looks like practice”
- damn. only hurts because it’s true.
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:27 PM
OOOOOO
what a sick move!!!
28-0
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:30 PM
which is why i’ve never said my opinions carry weight. im just a guy who an opinion and a blog. you should do the same thing. it’s fun!
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:31 PM
why’d you omit the “ask Berrian.”
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:33 PM
fuck this bullshit, there’s a great game going on on something called Versus
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:34 PM
he missed the extra point!
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:34 PM
I have never seen a TV network not even show the extra points. How blatant is ABC’s need for an extra 30 seconds of commercials/promos?
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:35 PM
CR – I dont even know what that means or who berrian is
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:36 PM
Missed the extra point. Man, they recovered from dropping a sure TD 4 plays earlier.
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:36 PM
HAHA! Oregon St’s kicker just missed the PAT to tie the game. 17-16 ‘Zona w/ 3:58 left.
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:36 PM
Vikings WR. Guy you called a snitch without thoroughly reading a story.
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:37 PM
TBL – I imagine OU would probably would leapfrog us. But I never know with the computers. I’ve given up trying to guess and am happy waiting until tomorrow to see.
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:37 PM
I have never seen a TV network not even show the extra points. How blatant is ABC’s need for an extra 30 seconds of commercials/promos?
I don’t know. While they were kicking the XP, I switched to the Cincy/Pitt game to watch Edwin “Bootsy” Collins from Funkadelic give a “shout out” to somebody.
True story.
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:41 PM
Some crazy fan’s going to stab Oregon State’s kicker.
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:41 PM
Damn, DeMarco Murray is having a hell of a game so far.
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:43 PM
CR – I dont even know what that means or who berrian is
You truly are just retarded. I dont know how a person can work US Weekly than a blog and be regarded as credible. With the recent mishaps of your site, namely giving Duffy a post, “ghostwriting” as intern bill and live blogging teen shows, you are lucky the internet gives you a connection. You suck.
I dont want to go out Maggs style, but I must. I will drop some I hate Howard Bombs, but, other than that, you are a complete douchebag.
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:48 PM
Come on, cool_rick, don’t leave. We all know Duffy and Intern Bill’s posts suck and if TBL makes a mistake he glosses over it. It’s part of the deal.
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:49 PM
Arizona’s secondary has taken the last two drives off, ha!
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:50 PM
OU interception, nearly a pick-six. If it weren’t Tech and their ridiculous offense, I’d call this game done at halftime.
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:50 PM
Leave nothing to chance, Riley. Score the TD.
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:51 PM
So what’s with 76 for Tech, is his goal in life to star in a Mad Max movie?
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:52 PM
Oh No Romo – Close. He aspires to be a pro wrestler, I think.
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:52 PM
holy cow. 42 in the first half against the No. 2 team in the nation?
does this hurt leach’s chances at getting a new job?
is harrell suddenly a fraud?
is texas tech?
this really is their first true road win (kansas hardly counts)
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:53 PM
Oregon St. wins!
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:54 PM
Who would’ve thought the game of the night would’ve been seen on Versus. Beavers in the Rose Bowl, hopefully.
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:54 PM
Maybe a Thunderdome remake?
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:55 PM
TBL – No more than his personality and pirate obsession does
Not totally, I think his receivers deserve some of the blame
It’s Tech on the road against a better team
The game’s in Norman
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:56 PM
Beavers win!!
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:57 PM
Oh No Romo – Lubbock tends to attract odd characters (see: Mike Leach, Bobby Knight)
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:57 PM
So Bradford wins the Heisman and Oklahoma plays the Florida/Bama winner for the title, right?
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:58 PM
/threadjack
Yao > D-Ho. Awaiting Irish’s confirmation.
/end
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:59 PM
@bsanders – Even though Texas beat OU?
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:03 PM
“retarded”
“suck”
“douchebag”
ouch. hey man, nobody’s holding a gun to your head to be here. Duffy’s a damn good writer, Intern Bill really likes baseball, and i enjoy Gossip Girl. im sorry you disagree.
later, man.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:04 PM
how does bradford win the heisman over mccoy?
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:05 PM
Guns Down!!!
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:06 PM
Probably not your best defense for that particular point. I agree Duffy’s a good writer, I just hate and don’t care about soccer. As for Gossip Girl, I love me some Blake Lively and Leighton Meester.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:06 PM
Since OU is going to have a huge win tonight, I suddenly have a fear that OU and Texas are going to both be ahead of Florida. I really hope we don’t end up with an OU/UT rematch.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:09 PM
Granite – Texas needs a win to leapfrog Florida … that can’t happen because it doesnt have any great games left (even if it plays Missouri in the Big 12 title game). Florida beating Alabama would def put UF in the title game.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:10 PM
bsanders – so are the colts winning tomorrow?
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:11 PM
Tebow should win the Heisman.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:11 PM
Texas is already ahead of Florida. So Florida needs to leapfrog Texas, which is certainly possible.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:13 PM
Florida beating Alabama would def put UF in the title game.
This will happen.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:13 PM
TBL
- All signs would point to them winning. The offense is clicking, they’re getting Kelvin Hayden back, the steroids-driven thorn in Manning’s side isn’t playing…but San Diego always plays well at home. If Bob Sanders suits up, I’d give them an 80% chance of winning. But he’s likely out, so I’ll go with 60%. If they do win, though, that means they’ll likely be playing at the Broncos to open the playoffs. I’d like our chances against that D.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:14 PM
The only way Florida won’t leapfrog Texas is if Texas gets into the Big 12 title game and wins it which would then put both Texas and Florida into the title game. Just look back at the Ohio State/ Florida title game, the pollsters hate rematches (hopped Florida over Michigan in the final poll) so they won’t put Oklahoma in. Besides how could you deny Florisa who is destroying everyone since their loss and would have beaten the number 1 team?
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:15 PM
Not that bible thumping, turd swirling, monkey ass, Erin Andrews ass slapper, adequate SEC quarterback, one-eyed, yellow belly, mud headed bastard!
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:15 PM
Yeah, Texas won its big games too early in the season, and lost its last chance to seal the deal against Tech. But a BCS game, even if it’s not the NC, would be an improvement from last year’s Holiday Bowl berth.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:15 PM
Holy s. That OS(U) game was incredible. bsanders said it…game of the night. Rose Bowl here we come!
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:16 PM
So you dont remember the Berrian post? What about the half dozen others that end up proven as false. The idiots on here take info from from a tabloid journalist. How does one get those credentials? I mean, its not like you actually write anything, you really dont investigate anything, you really dont have any sort of a respectable degree.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:17 PM
Holy crap Tech, really? An onside kick to start the half?
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:17 PM
bsanders – one very unscientific reason to believe the chargers will win
why would SD be favored?
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:17 PM
Florida is already ahead of Texas in the human polls, so there isn’t much Florida can gain there. It’s the computers that are killing Florida. The part that is really killing them is that Utah is ahead of Florida and behind Texas in some of the computers. Utah’s big win today isn’t going to help that any.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:17 PM
Rick you mean this post?
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:18 PM
What about the robotic polls?
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:19 PM
I dont know what that post is tampa, it never happened.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:21 PM
Because they’re at home, their season is over if they lose and they’ve won the past three games against the Colts. All solid reasons, really. But it overlooks the fact the Colts are the better team and considering both teams just played at Pittsburgh and one won and one lost, I’d say the evidence points to that. Of course, all that matters is how well the Colts take care of the ball tomorrow night.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:21 PM
Granite- Florida has more room to gain the computers which is why they’ll hop them. If they beat FSU and Alabama that will be more than an enough spike in the computers to close the gap with Texas.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:22 PM
Somebody…FSU beats UF. UF beats Bama. Mizzou beats Big 12 south. Very unlikely but…who is in the BCS championship game? USC and Oklahoma/Texas? Alabama and Oklahoma/Texas?
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:23 PM
TBL- Where’s the Harrell is fraud post? Those are my favorite. Harell gets a little pressure and looks terrible.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:23 PM
Man, I think I might just take a Tylenol PM and give myself a “stranger” instead of watching the rest of this game.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:23 PM
cr, you’re still here? i thought you were done? there’s this neat thing you can do on your computer so that you block my site and thus you won’t be compelled to come by and check it out.
look into that. if you have any other questions/issues/concerns/hate mail, just direct it to me via email.
and not that credentials matter for bloggers (or maybe they do?), but i did work in newspapers as a non-”tabloid journalist” and my degree is from a 4-year university. none of it is a secret – it’s all on http://www.jasonmcintyre.com if you want to go get some more ammo to try and blast me with.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:24 PM
What about the robotic polls?
Watch out for them, they will kill you.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:24 PM
Its going to be USC against Oklahoma/Texas ,whcih goes to show that winning your conference means absolutely nothing.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:25 PM
i actually dont think he’s a fraud. just think he benefitted from a lot of home games. if this is at a neutral site, my guess is that it’s much closer than 45-7.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:25 PM
You bastard! I didn’t even get that far!
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:25 PM
Here’s a question, what happens if Oklahoma State beats Oklahoma next week?
Does Texas go to the BCS Title game even though Texas Tech would go to the Big 12 title game?
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:27 PM
ding
ding
ding
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:27 PM
TBL- That picture is gay.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:27 PM
rs…I think you are probably right. Two teams in the BCS championship game and neither won their conference? Nice.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:27 PM
You look like the lead singer of “Fine Young Cannibals”
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:28 PM
texas tech fumble. weak. that’s it. im out on this game.
great run back. about to be 52-7.
only thing to watch is if OKL hangs 70 on TT.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:29 PM
Berrian, myself, and a host of others think that you are a complete douchebag. Hire some workers to link to Bee Aurthur, I heard that is in, fabricate stories, BETTER YET, JUST LIVE BLOG COWHERD, you just take topics from his show and blog them in a tape delay.
Being drunk is an excuse no real journalist would use, therefore you are not a real journalist.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:30 PM
Really? I think he’s complete fraud and I usually diagree with you on the fraud posts. He’s been prtected by an offensive line that never lets him get sacked and tonight when he faces a little pressure he crumbled making poor decisions and bad throws.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:30 PM
Yet no mention of the cooties he received in the second grade.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:31 PM
Granite…I think that would be the scenario. This year could be f-ed. Or Florida/Alabama could win out and Oklahoma/Texas/TT could win the Big 12 title game and it is easy.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:32 PM
Did you actually ask Berrian or are you just assuming he thinks this?
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:32 PM
interesting take. you want to write a fraud post for monday? email me.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:34 PM
CR, why are you making it personal? There are more important issues to worry about, like the economy. Get a life.
//Rich Rod’d
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:35 PM

November 22nd, 2008 at 10:36 PM
Crabtree is a beast, mand that was awesome. Too bad it doesn’t count.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:36 PM
Boy, was Purnell Sturdivant for VT on the money about VT’s offense. It was horrific today.
Fire Stiney!
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:39 PM
The fans at Cincinnati just stormed the field during a play

TBL-I had no clue you were a brotha. Asa lama lakim my brother.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:44 PM
Okay enough of OU torturing TT. The Hatton fight is coming up next on HBO.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:44 PM
TBL…can we get a mention for Quizz for Heisman? Link courtesy of your boy Canzano. Look like a genious. Name the future Rose Bowl MVP as a Heisman candidate.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:46 PM
Let’s see what Ricky Hatton has left.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:46 PM
OOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH Ricky Hatton!
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:47 PM
Oh No Romo – Thanks for reminding me about the fight. Hopefully it’s more competitive than OU/TTU.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:47 PM
Damn forgot that fight was on tonight. Has it started yet?
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:48 PM
This dude Hatton is fighting has the worst music mix ever.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:48 PM
Musberger dropping in the Stern mention. Nice.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:49 PM
Bsanders he has a bad haircut too.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:49 PM
They’re doing the entrances now. Malignaggi just entered the ring.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:49 PM
Hatton getting handed his lunch by Mayweather I’m willing to overlook. It happens to everybody. And thus far he’s up 1-0 on ring music alone.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:50 PM
Not a Hatton boxing fan but as a man…he is the shit.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:50 PM
I remember when Mayweather beat that ass.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:50 PM
Well I’m back from the wedding. It was fun, had a few drinks, realized my family isn’t as bad as I thought. Took a chance on a bridesmaid I saw who was sitting all alone. Bought her a drink, we danced, then I found out she was married. At least I took a chance right?
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:50 PM
Wow, he has his own song named after him. Sing along if you know it….RICKY HATTON!
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:51 PM
Mayweather is the shit. Best at 147 easy. Just wish he would go out and prove it.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:51 PM
What is Hatton wearing?
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:51 PM
Oh shit Floyd SR. is in Hattons corner.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:51 PM
I love Ricky’s fat suit. Gotta be able to laugh at yourself.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:52 PM
LAnce did you get high like I told you to do?
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:52 PM
sorry to delete a comment, but i draw the line at racism.
LBL – Taking a chance at a wedding is the only way to go. Well done. Was she wearing a ring?
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:52 PM
@Briggs…it’s all you can do.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:53 PM
Tampa
- Yeah, him training Hatton was the reason De La Hoya brought in Nacho for his Pacquiao fight.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:53 PM
holy one-handed catch, batman
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:55 PM
@ Tampa and TBL: I got pretty drunk…started off with a double-whiskey-coke-no-ice, had a few coors lights (those were free), and yeah I didn’t notice the ring until it was too late. But hey I’m chalking it up as a win. Somehow I found the courage to talk to her, and that’s pretty cool.
/ Head held high
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:55 PM
Briggs- You bought a drink at a wedding? what kind of rinky dink operation was this?
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:56 PM
Is there a marching band at this fight?
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:56 PM
OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHH Ricky Hatton!
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:57 PM
LBL – Well done, sir. Well done.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:57 PM
Somehow I found the courage to talk to her, and that’s pretty cool.
Alcohol is a magical thing my friend.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:58 PM
@ rs27: I saw people wearing jeans and felt over-dressed. Saw some older dude spill his beer walking back from the bar and that was pretty funny. I’ll just say, there were a TON of McCain votes in that place.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:58 PM
Blake Griffin had 35 and 21 tonight, TBL. Awesome.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:59 PM
Lederman scored it 10-9 Malignaggi and I agree, even though nobody stood out in that first round.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:59 PM
You got it LBL And so it goes.
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:59 PM
And I will say it’s fun to be buzzed and hanging out here with you guys.
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:01 PM
I think Hatton needs to start jabbing a bit, but it’s hard to take either of these guys seriously when they’re dressed the way they are.
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:01 PM
I went to a reception like that once. I had about 40 glasses of the worst wine ever to get through it.
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:02 PM
Alright! They’re busting each other up now!
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:02 PM
This is definitely Hatton’s round. Malignaggi got rocked in those final 30 seconds.
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:04 PM
No way. Having Floyd Mayweather Sr. as Hatton’s trainer was a mistake IMO. Hatton is at his best against him when he is back to the Hatton “straight ahead” style. He is KO-ing him in the 4-5th.
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:04 PM
My dad and I raised a toast to Joe Strummer, and that was pretty cool too.

November 22nd, 2008 at 11:05 PM
I’m not a boxing fan, but the guy calling the fight said Hatton’s opponent expects to break his hand during the fight, and he has fought with a broken hand several times before. Awesome.
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:06 PM
10-9 Hatton for round 3
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:07 PM

- That’s actually not that uncommon for fighters with “bad hands.”
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:09 PM
If this dude keeps letting Hatton stay on him like this he’s done for. Stay away, little dude, stay away.
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:09 PM
bsanders, you actually a legit boxing fan?
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:11 PM
Hatton has this fight under control. I forsee a knockdown soon.
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:11 PM
Malignaggi can take a fucking punch. He gets rocked, locks up, and keeps on moving.
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:12 PM
Lennox Lewis the worst.

- I’m not sure what qualifies as “legit,” but I certainly enjoy it. Hasn’t been a bad month. Calzaghe destroying Jones, Jermain Taylor with a vintage showing, Hatton pummeling this dude, and De La Hoya in a couple weeks.
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:13 PM
So I guess this means I need to switch to HBO now?
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:13 PM
I think I see Tupac.
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:14 PM
It doesn’t look like Malignaggi has the legs to get back in this thing. He’s just buying time right now.
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:15 PM
Brent seems happier, either OU is going to singlehandedly take care of the over or his PA found another flask.
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:17 PM

I’m ending my week long commenting vacation to tell Lance good job with growing a pair and making a move on a chick. Well done.
And to say that I would rather watch a chess match than a boxing match. Except a really really good boxing match.
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:21 PM
@bsanders – I’ve actually been pretty disappointed with the past couple months. I was looking forward to the Jones/Calzaghe but I was rooting for Jones so I had disappointment there. I am not looking forward to De La Hoya/Pacquiao fight. I don’t see a scenario where De La Hoya loses. It’s a joke IMO. I’m waiting for something to happen at 147. Williams, Margarito, Cotto, MAYWEATHER. Cotto/Margarito rematch has to be coming this spring.
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:21 PM
God it must be painful to be a TT fan right now. In matter of hours you go from dreaming about the NC game and having your qb win the Heisman, two program altering achievements, to no BCS appearance, no Heisman, and the Cotton Bowl. To top that off, you have to watch Utah, multiple loss teams from the ACC, Pac-10 (Oregon St. if they win next week), and theBig East, along with a team you beat earlier in the season go to the BCS. Wow. Lubboch is either a very quiet or very frightening place tonight.
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:21 PM
Fuck De La Hoya for fighting a midget and ducking Cotto.
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:21 PM
If Maliginaggi makes it through round eight I’ll be impressed.
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:24 PM
Oh, the De La Hoya fight is going to be a total farce. I’m just hoping Oscar’s hubris catches up to him and Pacquiao can pull something off. I was rooting for Jones, too, but after the first round it was pretty obvious Calzaghe was the better fighter (now, anyway) and the dismantling he put on was pretty impressive to watch.
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:24 PM
@clown – fuck you for shitting on my Pac Ten comments earlier but…you’re right. Fuck De La Hoya.

November 22nd, 2008 at 11:26 PM
I’m honestly suprised I’m not catching shit from people by striking out and looking like a total dipshit.
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:27 PM
As always, disappointing to see a once all-timer (Jones) at the tail end. Calzaghe just outclassed him obviously.
Holy shit! I just heard a trainer say the word “hook” in the corner. “Jab, jab…jab jab jab jab jab jab…”
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:28 PM
Really? From a bunch of dudes commenting on a blog on a Saturday night?
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:28 PM
Lennox knows his tape.
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:29 PM
If I had a dollar for everytime I looked like a total dipshit I’d have literally ones of dollars. Of course some nights you get to pull what I like to call a Tampa Bo and rail a chick and leave right after to go get Taco Bell.
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:29 PM
Yeah, it was sad to see what became of Jones. I can remember watching that huge buildup for when he played that semi-pro basketball game during the early afternoon, then flew to the fight and put on a clinic for 12 rounds. Then he bulked up to like 210 to fight as a heavy…and he wasn’t ever really the same.
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:30 PM
Lennox Lewis…the most boring heavyweight in history.

Thats what I call the Baja Blast.

“nice little fighter”
that has to be the ultimate insult for a boxer
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:31 PM
Haha, Lampley and the announcers are really hammering Maliginaggi now. “You have to credit his managers and trainers for getting a guy with no power to the top of this class.”
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:32 PM

November 22nd, 2008 at 11:58 PM
oh man journalism….wrote for my high school paper all 4 years I was there, and gave it up when our paper adviser told me there wasn’t a whole lot of money or job security in journalism, and how right she was considering all the big-name writers you’ve heard about taking buyouts recently.
November 23rd, 2008 at 12:02 AM
Yeah, I didn’t get that memo until last spring (my high school didn’t have a journalism program). I’ve definitely got very little money and almost no job security, lol. But I’m having fun for now and paying (most of) my bills.

I’ve never seen it before, but I conspiracy-theory kind of stuff (which I imagine this is) and Costner is my favorite actor. And I like most trail movies, a la John Grisham.

2. Florida
3. Texas
4. Oklahoma
5. Penn State

1) a loss doesnt preclude you from winning the heisman
2) a loss to oklahoma on the road certainly doesnt disqualify you if a loss at home to ole miss doesnt
3) all three big twelve quarterbacks are still more worthy than tebow

good call! My question are.. If Penn St. beat Ohio St., and they have the same big 10 record, how in the fuck is it a “shared” title? And are we looking at Oregon St. vs. Penn St. Rose Bowl after the raping that happened last time?
November 23rd, 2008 at 11:13 AM
1) a loss doesnt preclude you from winning the heisman
agreed
2) a loss to oklahoma on the road certainly doesnt disqualify you if a loss at home to ole miss doesnt
No. Not showing up at all at Oklahoma and losing to a Cotton Bowl bound Ole Miss team because you missed an extra point are not equal
3) all three big twelve quarterbacks are still more worthy than tebow
Agreed, they’re all better statistically. But I disagree that they should get the Heisman over them.
My Heisman frontrunners are:
1a)McCoy
1b)Tebow (moves to 1 if he beats FSU and Bama)
1c)McCoy
4)Harrell
5)Daniel (still has a chance if Bama wins and Mizzou wins the Big 12)
November 23rd, 2008 at 11:13 AM
same number of conference losses. listen, we big-ten’ers don’t like the setup either, but until delany and/or ND gets their head out of their asses, we’re stuck with it.
and fuck arizona.
/courtesy Rose Bowl, USC, OSU, PSU, Boise State
November 23rd, 2008 at 11:15 AM
I’d rather see an OSU/PSU rematch than see USC get another de-facto home game in Pasadena, beat PSU by three touchdowns, and then be forced to hear more insuffurable “they should share the title” or “they’re the best team in the country” talk.
November 23rd, 2008 at 11:19 AM
and then be forced to hear more insufferable “they should share the title†or “they’re the best team in the country†talk.
Yes. However even if the San Andreas fault swallowed the entire USC campus this week, USC fans would still be claiming that they deserved a share of the National Title.

there’s no tiebreaker spence? like, you know, head-to-head?
November 23rd, 2008 at 11:36 AM
It’s just semantics,Makblunt. They are tied as co-champions but the bowl slot goes to PSU because of the tiebreaker head-to-head. Any other conference would just say PSU is the conference champion.
November 23rd, 2008 at 11:38 AM
Didn’t the Big Ten used to have some kind of “who went to the Rose Bowl more recently” tiebreaker? I could have sworn that I heard that somewhere
November 23rd, 2008 at 11:39 AM
Mak…nope.
November 23rd, 2008 at 11:42 AM
Jay…that was old. before they did have a thing that said you couldn’t go to the rose bowl in consecutive years…god i hate this conference…and delany…and ND for not doing the logical thing and joining up.

November 23rd, 2008 at 11:45 AM
Notre Dame has it’s own network to show all of their games. Why would they join a conference? If(when) NBC says “fuck this, this team sucks. let’s spend our money elsewhere” then Notre Dame will probably join the big ten plus 1 or 2…
November 23rd, 2008 at 11:58 AM
Hey where’s the pick of the OU chick with the big juggs?
November 23rd, 2008 at 12:12 PM
If(when) NBC says “fuck this, this team sucks. let’s spend our money elsewhere†then Notre Dame will probably join the big ten plus 1 or 2…
Mak, you know that will never happen. It’s the same way the Cowboys and Lakers will always be on in primetime no matter how bad they are.
And if you’re one of those people who hate Notre Dame and those other teams I mentioned, and you watch them every week because you hate them and you want to watch them lose–please, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, stop doing this. If you would, the ratings would drop and maybe we’d stand a chance of them getting off the TV.
