It Never Stops: ESPN, Please Get Everyone a Playoff!
1-liner, ESPN, Media Gossip/Musings November 26th. 2008, 3:30pmThe BCS Blows: “Why would ESPN shell out a half-billion for the rights to all those bowl games without insisting that the Lords of The BCS finally do the right thing and give the public (not to mention President-elect Barack Obama) what it really wants — a legitimate playoff leading up to a national title game between the two best teams.” (Washington Post.com)

The Washington Post is just jealous and angry that they didn’t get the BCS package.

ESPN’s college football coverage would implode if they got a playoff. This way, they can keep telling us USC’s the best team in the country and they never have to prove it.

Again, I like the BCS. It gives me something to argue about during the season AND great regular season classics. If you have a playoff, no one will schedule tough out of conference opponents. Hell, I’m sure that conference championship games(real ones, not big 10 or pac 10 bullshit) will disappear. I’m in favor of a plus 1, and that’s about as far as I’ll go…

The BCS already provides “a national title game between the two best teams.” Most playoffs cannot guarantee that the two best teams play each other for the title.
