If You’d Like to Stalk ESPN Personalities at the Super Bowl, the St. Pete Times Has All the Info
1-liner, Media Gossip/Musings December 15th. 2008, 4:00pmESPN: A few hundred people in the WWL’s army of Super Bowl worker bees will be staying at the Marriott Pinellas Park in St. Petersburg. Included: Mike Ditka, Keyshawn Johnson, Tom Jackson, Trent Dilfer and Mike Tirico. We’re still unsure about trip. However, the NFL is being incredibly accomodating to this blogger, which may be incentive enough for us to just sleep in a rental car for a couple nights. (St. Pete Times)

In our view, just as troubling than the language was the condescending attitude that the producer displayed toward a guy who falls smack dab in the middle of ESPN’s prime demographic for its various products and platforms. People like Cowboy Chris are ESPN’s best customers, because they constantly are searching for information about their favorite teams, and they’re relying on ESPN’s television, print, and broadcast programming to get it.
So when “Sean†repeatedly tells Cowboy Chris to “get a f-king life†for doing that which true fans (short for “fanaticsâ€) do, “Sean†is basically projecting a sense that, in his capacity as an ESPN producer, he regards true fans as losers.
True fans stalk and harass ESPN employees who are trying to do their jobs?
News to me.
