I’ve never met a golfer with a handicap under 10 who said sudden noises didn’t mess with them during their backswing. The reason: golf is really fucking hard. I wouldn’t mind constant noise – wouldn’t bug me at all the same way it never did in other sports – but a sudden noise like a camera shutter is harder to block out than most douchebag blog commenters probably realize.

ANYWAY… hilarious story, true or not.

nino…i was joking, tiger won the 2000 US Open (forgot that part) by 15 strokes. those were the guys who finished t2 which nobody can remember because they got their asses whooped so bad.

Spence, they were all tough. YOU just stated how Tiger was pushed to the “absolute brink” by May, Rocco pushed him into a 5th round, plus one more hole. Im not trying to rate all of Tiger’s major wins on toughness, but May and Rocco come to mind as at or near the top.

I have always found it humourous that golfers get so bent out of shape over crowd noise, but then again, how many times have any of us stepped up to the ball with hundreds of thousands of dollars riding on your shot. The most thing riding on a shot, when I play, is a beer chug.

I think Sergio will win one major this year (maybe).
