Defending Ed Werder: “By courage, I mean that he would report the news from Valley Ranch in the morning, then would have no problem playing golf with any of the players later that day – no matter what he had reported. He’s just a stand-up guy who defines journalism. He’s objective and honest but also has a good relationship with his subjects while maintaining his professional distance. I’ve played in the same [golf] foursome with he and Terry Glenn when Glenn was about to be released and Ed never ambushed Terry with any questions or dug for info.
