Where Would Tim Tebow Rank in the Big 12? Fourth, According to a Guy in the Oklahoma Secondary
College Football January 5th. 2009, 1:30pm
Who does Dominique Franks think he is, Anthony Smith? Can’t wait for Heisman runner-up Tim Tebow to size up the 6-foot, 189-pound Franks and truck him the way he runs over most undersized defensive banks:
Franks said Florida quarterback Tim Tebow would “probably be about the fourth-best quarterback in our conference” behind Oklahoma’s Sam Bradford, Texas’ Colt McCoy and Texas Tech’s Graham Harrell. He added that as a defensive back, preparing for Tebow’s physical running style and 20 passing attempts a game is easier than facing a Big 12 quarterback who throws “40 or 50 times.”
Said Franks: “Hopefully he’ll throw me the ball a couple of times and I’ll get my hands on it. On Jan. 8, we’ll see.”
The last time someone talked trash about Tebow … he got hurt prior to the game and didn’t even play. Franks should be careful at practice this week. And in the dining hall. And in his bathtub.

Bradford > Tebow > McCoy > Harrell > Daniels > Everyone else
January 5th, 2009 at 1:32 PM
No need to read this entire post. Guy’s right. Bradford, McCoy, Harrell, all > Tefullback.
January 5th, 2009 at 1:33 PM
So there’s one person left in thsi world who doesn’t wear Tebow pajamas. This dude will get smoked like Tebow’s sausage by Gorilla Biscuits.
January 5th, 2009 at 1:34 PM
can you imagine the kind of numbers tebow would put up in the Big XII? gimme a break…and this guy should know, it’s easy to look impressive when you’re not facing a defense.
/really trying to piss off clown

Gorilla Biscuits …

Sweet a college football post. The Pac-10’s OOC schedule > all other conferences:
January 5th, 2009 at 1:36 PM
OMGz you guys forgot Mark Sanchez, Kirk and Brent are going to cry.
January 5th, 2009 at 1:37 PM
Mmm….Erin Drewes. Her crew is full of 10’s, if her facebook photos are any indication.
January 5th, 2009 at 1:37 PM
Can’t wait to see this game at the end of the month.
January 5th, 2009 at 1:37 PM
spence where are you watching the game tonight
January 5th, 2009 at 1:39 PM
Mack > Tressel
January 5th, 2009 at 1:41 PM
Mack 10 > Tressel
January 5th, 2009 at 1:42 PM
More Sterger please.
January 5th, 2009 at 1:43 PM
Franks is being very generous, I think. Zac Robinson, Todd Reesing and Robert Griffin are also more talented than Tebow.
January 5th, 2009 at 1:43 PM
Midget Mack > Mack 10 > tressel
January 5th, 2009 at 1:44 PM
Colt McCoy bangs dudes.
January 5th, 2009 at 1:46 PM
I wonder what would happen if Jenn Sterger and Tim Tebow had a kid? (of course they are married, I don’t think Tebow is losing his promise ring) Would Brent Musburger try to kidnap it?
January 5th, 2009 at 1:46 PM
Midget Mack > Mack 10 > tressel
True. Midget Mack just doesn’t give a fuck. I like how he treats hoes.
January 5th, 2009 at 1:47 PM
Only after it verbally committed to U$C
January 5th, 2009 at 1:52 PM
lance…at my place with a couple of my buddies (and vaporizer). you?
January 5th, 2009 at 1:52 PM
Tebow wouldn’t go near that girl without getting the word of the Lord.
January 5th, 2009 at 1:53 PM
mack brown is a fucktard supreme…i can’t believe there are people here who actually think he’s a competent coach.
January 5th, 2009 at 1:55 PM
i loathe the gators but i’ve got a feeling they are going to light up oklahoma.
you don’t know how much i want to be wrong.
January 5th, 2009 at 1:55 PM
@ spence: Either at home (there’s plenty of “happy juice” in the garage fridge, and it’d be fun to talk here during there) or at “The Bar” with dad with “Our Bartender”. I think it’s kinda cool that Dad’s bartender is now also my bartender. I’m leaning towards home because I wouldn’t want to be out driving at the end of this one, regardless of the outcome.

Jimmy – As a UK fan, I know what you’re going through.
January 5th, 2009 at 1:56 PM
He’ll fit right in on the Cowboys next year. Plus the marketing song is already written. “He’s the real McCoy, and he’s headed down south sucka, cause he’s gonna be a Cowboy baby.” I figure that has just the right amount of gay.
Either that or he can go to Indy. But that’s too easy.
January 5th, 2009 at 1:57 PM
Dominique Franks better hope he doesn’t cross paths with gary danielson.
January 5th, 2009 at 1:58 PM
meant to say, during the game
January 5th, 2009 at 1:59 PM
Mack is the most overrated coach in football. Take Vince Young’s JR year out of the history books (one year, mind you) and Brown is not the coach of Texas right now.
January 5th, 2009 at 2:01 PM
I want, very badly, to watch tebow turn the corner and see this skinny punk. If Tebow realizes who it is he will truck this guy like no tomorrow.
January 5th, 2009 at 2:01 PM
Take away talented players and that coach sucks! ZOMG!!!1!! DUr, Durrrrrr!!1
Mack > All. 3 BCS titles within the next decade. Book it.
January 5th, 2009 at 2:02 PM
lance…yea, i hear that, basically the same reason im chillin’ at home. plus, i don’t feel like going out and getting all excited when considering the last two years, it’s ended poorly and made for a rough day at work.
January 5th, 2009 at 2:03 PM
Mack is a great recruiter that rarely has a team live up to its talent. VY’s junior year is the lone exemption to that rule.
I hate Tebow. I hate Florida. I hate that smarmy Meyer. However, Tebow is a GREAT college QB in the perfect system for him and that system will absolutely overwhelm Oklahoma on Thursday night. No question in my mind.
January 5th, 2009 at 2:09 PM
Love the Tebow Kool-Aid. Graham Harrell did more work than Tebow (at home) against Ole Miss.
January 5th, 2009 at 2:09 PM
he’s a great recruiter? really? dude, you, me or clown could recruit just as well…it’s TEXAS…the most talent rich state in the country and he coaches at a school most of those kids would kill to play for…how hard is that?
January 5th, 2009 at 2:11 PM
pretty hard, actually.
/john mackovic
January 5th, 2009 at 2:12 PM
As hard as recruiting for THE State University of Whore-io and still only getting a bunch of slow “athletes”.
January 5th, 2009 at 2:14 PM
where’s whore-io? isn’t that a cookie?
January 5th, 2009 at 2:14 PM
uh, oh. i smell a flamewar coming.
clown just threw a match at the gasoline.
January 5th, 2009 at 2:15 PM
if the office wasn’t a re-run, what’s the call?
January 5th, 2009 at 2:15 PM
pretty hard, actually.
/john mackovic Jimmy
BAM!
/Francione and Slocum.
January 5th, 2009 at 2:19 PM
Saw DKR outside the stadium 2 seasons ago, and I was so scared/intimidated to talk to him or shake his hand. What do you say to a hero, right?
January 5th, 2009 at 2:21 PM
Guys, Texas earned that Title. Let it be. Who cares if they had to lower their academic requirements and have someone take their QB’s tests because he’s a functional retard?

is the guy in a first place a regular here? I know Wally’s World (currently No. 2) is
January 5th, 2009 at 2:26 PM
Spence my favorite picture I have saved on NCAA 09 was where one of my WR’s is standing in the endzone of the horseshoe, horns up, in front of Brutus who was on the ground with his oversized head in his hands.
January 5th, 2009 at 2:27 PM
tx beat ou this year. that alone makes it successful.this is mack’s best coaching job since his 1st year there.
January 5th, 2009 at 2:27 PM
Woody Hayes was a pedophile.
January 5th, 2009 at 2:29 PM
TBL, surely these ads have paid for a DRV by now, haven’t they? The Office, funny as it is, isn’t The Wire. You don’t have to watch it live. Especially over one of the last important football games for 8 months.
January 5th, 2009 at 2:30 PM
best damn pedophile in the land.
January 5th, 2009 at 3:10 PM
Yeah, baby… Had a great run until January 2nd, when I went 0 for 3. Made me some money on a couple of pools and was decently successful on the lines as well.
January 5th, 2009 at 3:49 PM
He’s right. Tebow would be the fourth best QB in the Big XII. He might be the best all-around player, but he’d be the fourth best QB.
January 5th, 2009 at 5:36 PM
My thoughts, too.
Had to call him for a story as a freshman. I had to look at my cell phone for like 5 minutes before I could hit the call button. Coolest conversation I’ve ever had, though.
