Favre: “I am not insecure to let the comments bother me.”
1-liner, NFL January 8th. 2009, 10:00amFavre: Talked to his hometown paper, said he hadn’t heard the Thomas Jones comments. Admitted to playing poorly in the final five weeks. “I am not going to let one or two guys ruin a career for me or the relationship I had with my teammates. If you poll my past teammates, I bet 90 percent would say they enjoyed playing with me.” Take your time in deciding if you’re coming back, old man. Still think the Jets need you. Others disagree. Sure take all the time you want. Retire in February, come back in March, retire again just after the draft in April, come back again in late July… Let the Jets feel the pain of dealing with the ego-maniacal Favre the way that the ever-loved Pack faithful had to.

About a month before the Jet players came out with their statements there was a column written up here where the Packer players kinda tiptoed around saying the same things with regard to him being distant and not a great teammate (in Green Bay he had his own freaking locker room)…I think the whole idea of Favre being this fun loving guy either was always a myth or he’s become this
Have fun with the back and forth about retirement…I’m pretty sure Aaron Rodgers has already committed to playing for the Packers next season

I thought the Jets had Bubba Franks and Chris Baker as TE’s already? Why do they need another?

Like the Jets players, for example.
I’m not saying Clemens is the answer, but Favre was a huge reason we went 1-4 down the stretch. A part of me is curious to what he would be like with a competant offensive coach in NY, though.

Who doesn’t need a QB who you can book for 1.5 turnovers a game? Everyone’s trying to draft one of those!

The Jets should draft Nate Davis. I hear he is the best QB in the draft.

AS a lifetime jets fan, I can see them taking Stafford with their first pick, him having a shoulder injury/sucking and me blowing my brains out.

1 or 2 guys are going to ruin a career?
How about finishing back-to-back seasons with playoff dreams ruined because you gots to sling it in there?

The man’s coming up on 40 years old and as we saw last season he looks absolutely miserable playing in late season games with unpleasant weather conditions…you’d think the Jets management would have noticed this and it’s only going to be worse next season
Just hang ‘em up buddy, come back to Green Bay for the number retirement and all will be forgiven

Really TBL? The man is done and past his prime.
/fan of a team who has T-Jack as the starting QB

Herm Edwards made the playoffs 3 out of his 5 years with the Jets. I’m just saying.

I swear to God, if Favre holds America (at least ESPN) hostage again this spring and summer with everyone breathlessly awaiting his retirement answer, someone’s gonna punch him in the face….me.

Jets also need. More complete sentences. Maybe not.
