Bsanders – There wasn’t much reporting done. If SI wanted a real column on bull riding, I know at least three good reporters within 50 miles of me who could’ve done a much better job. Cupp smells more like a gimmick to get clicks than anything. SI’s regression is getting sad.

S. E. Cupp looks like an anal queen. I think dudes should have their balls tied with rope and have bulls writhe up and down on their backs for a bit to see how it feels. Luke Perry is not impressed with her bull riding reporting.

Tyduffy – Yeah, she gets some parts right and some parts are just way off the mark. And her column is about Brazilian bull riders, but she doesn’t mention that the current champ, Guilherme Marchi, is Brazilian. Great job, there. And SI wonders why it’s getting its ass kicked on the internet.

I’m going to hazard a guess and say that that’s the phrase “musk emitting men” has appeared in Sports Illustrated.

I imagine to be every little boy’s fantasy — rendered large-scale. There’s a bobcat excavator doing wheelies as it levels the dirt in the arena. There are booming pyrotechnics. There are genuine cowboys lassoing bulls into their pens.

I don’t know about the rest of you. But, my fantasies never involved cowboys, large equipment and fireworks.

As for Ms. Cupp, I’m not sure why she would be writing for SI. But I’m glad to see rodeo getting some exposure. It’s always a good time, and it’s one sport that’s actually growing in this economy, especially bull riding. Her column was pretty bad, though. And it sucks that SI couldn’t get a real sportswriter to write it.
