Jessie “The Body” Ventura Wants Bud Selig Indicted Just Like Vince McMahon Was 13 Years Ago
Baseball, Drugs, Politics February 16th. 2009, 12:00pm
The guy from Predator (and Batman and Robin!) nails it:
“What you have here is two sets of law enforcement. One set: ‘Oh, pro wrestling, let’s go after the head of that and put him in prison for steroid use.’ And pro wrestling is not even an athletic competition. We went to court and said we’re sports entertainment. Here, you have a legitimate athletic competition with 104 guys using illegal drugs – cheating – and where’s the indictment of Bud Selig on this?”
Will any of the trillion reporters who descend upon Tampa tomorrow at 1:30 pm ask A-Rod his opinion about Bud Selig? And conspiracy theorists can feel free to weight in on this one:
“Baseball was dead in the water until the big home run race between (Mark) McGwire and Sosa – Sammy – and that rejuvenated baseball, made all the profits so Bud Selig could make $17 million a year.”

Oh, and Ventura may have a point if Selig was jacking himself up and supplying the players…otherwise, no.

The real burn will be when he calls Bud Selig, Chico Santana.

Exactly what would Bud Selig be guilty of?

Stealing worms from the nest of an innocent bird.

Nothing but looking the other way. Unless the goverment can prove the owners help distribute steroids to players, like Vince was accused of, there’s nothing could be done.

Remind me to avoid BSPN for the next week or so since it’s going to have its entire head up the ass of Tampa ad-nauseum.

ESPN is already up the NY/BOS butt. I swear any baseball story over the weekend was about the two of them.
February 16th, 2009 at 1:20 PM
Do you count Manny as a NY/BOS story?

“Exactly what would Bud Selig be guilty of?”
Possibly a conspiratory or accessory charge of some sort? There would need to be evidence of his knowledge of widespread use within his league, which of course there is/was.

He’s a former used car salesman and doesn’t have an honest bone in his overpayed body. He’s guilty of being a fucking asshat.
