Hey, more over-the-hill “names” the Jets should sign! TBL is a master of the Jerry Jones/Dan Snyder model of roster building. How about the Jets just do their homework and draft better?

Bsanders, top 3 things Caldwell needs to address this offseason are? Hayden, obviously. He’ll get franchised I think…
O-line? Lilja is always hurt, Saturday is getting old…
#3? Cut Marv? D-tackle?

Top priority has to be Hayden, but his agent is playing hardball so they might have to franchise him. If Saturday will sign a two-year deal, hang onto him, but if not at least they’ll have an entire offseason for Richard to get ready this year. They’ll try to get Harrison to restructure as he can still be a productive third WR, but if he won’t then they’ll have to cut him and try and grab another wideout in the second round. I think they have to go DT in the first round, most likely Peria Jerry.

I’m not sure about the window closing, as they’ve done a good job of replacing their aging guys with younger versions. Peyton’s 32 and Marvin’s old, but other than that Saturday’s the only guy on offense who’s over 30. I think Brackett’s the only guy on defense anywhere close to starting to slip.

I wouldn’t blame that on Jones, I would blame that on Favre hitting the wall and the offensive line regressing down the stretch. I don’t think spending probably at least a million of your cap space on a third-string RB is a good way to manage your roster.

Isn’t there usually somebody else out there with me? I’m only half-assed today because I’m taking a real sick day. This is one of my few chances to talk on a weekday.

giants had 3 RBs. steelers had 2 and russell. cowboys will have 3 next year. if you can take the pressure off your No. 1 guy, why not? it’s not like taylor or deuce are going to be expensive.

Or, ya know, the Jets could just draft a back in the third or fourth round instead of wasting cap space on someone with little tread left on their tires who even if they signed for the vet. min. would cost twice as much as a rookie. Or they could worry about the bigger holes on their roster.

jones didn’t have a 100 yard game in december. a DB is top priority, and if one assumes (prays?) that gholston becomes a pass-rushing force, i think the defense will be fine.
