The Braves Finally Nab a Free Agent
1-liner, Baseball February 24th. 2009, 12:45pmAtlanta Braves: Less than a week after Ken Griffey Jr. spurned the Braves for the Mariners, Atlanta signed Garrett Anderson to bolster their meek outfield. Teasing one of our random baseball predictions: We’re picking the Marlins to finish ahead of the Braves in the NL East this year. (Talking Chop)

Since the Marlins ended up 2008 over 12 games ahead of the Braves in the standings, and now have a much healthier pitching rotation 9at least at this point) than last year, I’d say that’s not exactly going out on a limb. How about mine: the Marlins will contend in the NL East and/or NL Wild card

Um, the Marlins finished 12.5 games ahead of the Braves last season. Tease that.

And I forgot they signed Glavine again. That’s a net +10 over losing Smoltz just by himself, let alone adding Lowe

I thought Anderson has been done for a while now?
