Skip Bayless Steadfastly Refuses to Backpedal From His Theories About Troy Aikman’s Sexuality
ESPN, Media Gossip/Musings February 25th. 2009, 12:30pm
A probing, insightful interview with Skip Bayless.
- His brother is a famous cook in Chicago!
- Skip was like, a big deal in Dallas in the 80s!
- The original sports reporters TV show: Albom, Wilbon and … Skip!
- Man, we had totally forgotten that Troy Aikman (allegedly) called WR Kevin Williams the n-word.
- Too bad Skip can’t let that Aikman-gay stuff go: “A number of the Black players-with whom I was close-contended that he was bisexual.” (The Starting Five)

You’re absolutely right, Joe.
February 25th, 2009 at 12:33 pm
methinks the 2nd part of that may have something to do with the 1st.
February 25th, 2009 at 12:38 pm
Some, um, interesting comments over there …
February 25th, 2009 at 12:39 pm
Skip Bayless knows less about everything he is talking about than anyone I’ve ever seen.
February 25th, 2009 at 12:39 pm
Aikman isn’t gay? nttawwt
Bayless is a hack.
February 25th, 2009 at 12:39 pm
and brady quinn gets a free pass?!
February 25th, 2009 at 12:39 pm
WTF is that screen cap
February 25th, 2009 at 12:40 pm
Yeah well Skip’s bro has the looks of a dude that is no stranger to playing “catch the burrito” either.
February 25th, 2009 at 12:42 pm
Black people are always right.
Maybe Troy was gay with Skip and broke up with him now hes bitter?
February 25th, 2009 at 12:44 pm
Had no idea he and Rick are brothers, but now can see the resemblance. Now I want to punch both of them in the face.
February 25th, 2009 at 12:44 pm
Joe Buck is gay
February 25th, 2009 at 12:46 pm
iI could see Buck and Aikman staring in a romantic sitcom about the trials and tribulations of a “partnership.” They could also throw in the legality of their marriage as a main story arch. I think Buck would be the bread winner and Aikman would be the homemaker in this scenario. Fox, is that be something you might be interested in?

When Troy wasn’t married yet to mask his gayness, he used to say that he didn’t like going out, and that he preferred IM’ing with Jay Novacek.
GAY!
February 25th, 2009 at 12:47 pm
Largely due to the fact that Joe has no choice Irish.
February 25th, 2009 at 12:48 pm
coming from the guy who compiled a list of the best looking QB’s…
seems like he’s projecting something on to Aikman.
February 25th, 2009 at 12:50 pm
Skip’s not gay? Having Brady Quinn as his #1 certainly won’t help dispel that notion.
February 25th, 2009 at 12:52 pm
that was an excessively long interview. Wasn’t even an interview, just Bayless blabbing
February 25th, 2009 at 12:54 pm
He has a little bit of everything in that list of QB’s. At first I thought he only liked skinny white guys, but then noticed he threw a fat black guy in there, too.

Skip Bayless is awful. There are certain people in media, especially sports media, that are just terrible for invariable reason(s). Skip Bayless is one of them. How this man is employed by the so-called World Wide Leader in sports is something I cannot and will never fully comprehend. ESPN employs a ton of yahoos, hacks, assholes and general idiots, but how Skip Bayless has a job befuddles me.
February 25th, 2009 at 12:56 pm
@bsanders37 – Yeah, I like how he tossed McNabb in at the end, so he didn’t come off as racist.
No Tom Brady on that list, though, I’d think that if you like Brady Quinn, you’d like Tom Brady.
February 25th, 2009 at 12:57 pm
Skippy Bayliss is a proverbial Blame-aholic who definitely needs a permanent muzzle placed over his mouth.
Who cares if Aikman is or was homosexual? Let that man live his damn life, and find one for yourself.
February 25th, 2009 at 12:58 pm
Because he draws eyeballs. They don’t pay him $700+k/yr for nothing.
February 25th, 2009 at 1:02 pm
And because he’s a monster standout at ESPN The Gym.

Further proof that First Take should not exist

I’m guessing that if ESPN made a list of the 5 best-looking black third basemen from the Dominican Republic, Brett Favre would be #2
February 25th, 2009 at 1:13 pm
That is just appalling, if true. How in the CUNT can ESPN pay this guy $700K? Oh my god. I’m going to pass out.
February 25th, 2009 at 1:13 pm
his brother was considered for white house chef. can you imagine skip with access to the president? he’d push the red button just to shut him up.
February 25th, 2009 at 1:15 pm
What, what in the Cunt?
February 25th, 2009 at 1:16 pm
How in the CUNT can ESPN pay this guy $700K?
Who’s worse: the network that pays him $700K, or the yahoos who watch him every day to get pissed off at him and justify his salary.
It kinda reminds me of the people who watch Duke every time they’re on TV just to bitch about it, and then they complain that they’re on TV all the time. It’s sad that the connection eludes them.
February 25th, 2009 at 1:16 pm
What’s more disturbing, Skip earning $700K/yr? Or Bud Selig making $18M a year?
February 25th, 2009 at 1:18 pm
selig.
February 25th, 2009 at 1:19 pm
SG-Im gonna have to go with Skip.
February 25th, 2009 at 1:25 pm

Rick Bayless, the chef brother, is a badass. He has a cooking show on WTTW 11 (Chicago’s PBS station), which he is very good on. The man is pasionate about Mexican food.
February 25th, 2009 at 1:37 pm
What’s more disturbing, Skip earning $700K/yr, Bud Selig making $18M a year, or both of their faces?
February 25th, 2009 at 1:40 pm
Used to work at the WWL.
Skip is insufferable, I agree with that. He is that way when he is not on air as well.
However, the fact that he has the JV squad as producers on CP does not help either. The topics they come up with are awful.

i wish john blake was still the coach at ou. he was terrible. he could recruit though, stoops won a nc with his players.
February 25th, 2009 at 2:17 pm
Good call. As someone said, that’s how they get eyeballs. Put a fucking moron on TV to rile up viewers, who tune in the next day, the day after that, and so on, just to get mad at their TVs.
I’ve seen Bayless a handful of times and for short snippets and that’s enough for me. In fact, the same can be said about Cold Pizza or First Take or whatever. Bayless is one of those people that you only need to experience for a short amount of time before you know he’s 100 percent douchebag.
