Terrell Owens Signs With Bills
NFL March 7th. 2009, 7:24pm
Best of luck to Trent Edwards, who will likely be accused of being gay by week 8.
Still in utter shock ESPN didn’t go with “T.O. fits the Bill.” Thought that was a lock. Fox, however, did not disappoint.
And those cocky pricks at NFL.com already have the Bills in first place.
UPDATE: I was wrong.
ESPN’s NFL page came through with the cheese:
Bills agree to one-year deal with Owens for $6.5 million (NFL.com)

Well, I guess that settles that. Who were the ones who said he was done in the league?

i believe they are typing their apologies and acknowledging our greatness ruck.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:30 PM
Done? What? That’s crazy jpq, you’re better than that.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:31 PM
I will go out on a limb and says he leads the league in drops this season. I really thought Tennessee would have been a better fit with Collins coming back. Guess Toronto offered more money.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:32 PM
I never thought he was done in the league, I just didn’t think a non-Super Bowl contender would think he’s worth the risk and didn’t think a Super Bowl contender would risk blowing their shot at a championship by signing concrete hands. I’m not sure what the Bills are thinking, to be honest. Poor Trent Edwards, this will surely help his development.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:32 PM
when they show the latin players age on the wbc shouldnt they put like 22ish or 30ish on there instead of confirmed numbers like 22 or 30?
/reposted bcause i thought it was funny and it got overshadowed by a new post’d
March 7th, 2009 at 7:33 PM
hernia: I cannot lie. I went toe to toe w/ Spencer yesterday saying he was done. Not physically, but that no team would sign him. The Bills are literally the LAST team i thought would sign them. It is so not them. Saying that, I like it. The team sucks, the locals have finally kinda lost the passion I never thought they’s lose, and the franchise needed a shot of momentum. This definitely brings it.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:34 PM
But doesn’t everyone find their own jokes funny?
March 7th, 2009 at 7:35 PM
/fixed for what jpq will be saying in about 8 months
March 7th, 2009 at 7:35 PM
T.O. is by faaaaarr the best wideout in Buffalo with all the smurfs they have. Sure he can’t catch and have severe emotional problems, but…. ummmm… he had 10 TD’s in a down year for him.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:35 PM
I’ll drink to that.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:35 PM
Something tells me Bills fans will not identify great with a guy like TO
March 7th, 2009 at 7:35 PM
@bsanders: I agree with the non-Super Bowl contender thought. Never thought a team like Buffalo would be jumping in to this shit.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:37 PM
I don’t know, I think at this point in time Lee Evans is a superior WR to Owens. It’s not his fault his QB has a noodle arm. I’m glad the Bills signed him, though. One less play for Marvin Harrison to go and helps the chances he’ll find no takers and come back to the Colts and retire with them at a reduced price.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:37 PM
That’s a good photoshop idea.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:38 PM
And those cocky pricks at NFL.com already have the Bills in first place.
Hernia, as much as I like the “prediction”, I hate to break it to you: they just have the teams listed alphabetically, and B comes before M and N.

mrejr: The poison hit this year about the same time when they went in the tank, so I’m prepared for it
March 7th, 2009 at 7:39 PM
Marvin hasn’t signed with the Eagles yet? I’m surprised, I really thought they would make a run at him to keep McNabb happy.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:39 PM
how desperate is your country when they need a 40 yr old bernie williams to play for the national team?
March 7th, 2009 at 7:40 PM
I hate Lee Evans. I owned him a couple times on my fantasy team and he drove me insane. I’m surprised TO and Rosenhaus signed so quickly. I thought they would’ve looked for better suitors. They were probably not expecting such a public backlash from other GMs. I think they panicked and jumped at the first offer.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:40 PM
If he charges the mound with his guitar, I’ll definitely be cheering him on.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:41 PM

Does The Swami come out of hibernation for this? They’re loading the “nobody circles the wagons” video as we speak.
I agree with the non-Super Bowl contender thought. Never thought a team like Buffalo would be jumping in to this shit.
I agree on both points. This signing had Bengals or Raiders written all over it.

March 7th, 2009 at 7:41 PM
Lee Evans is a good deep threat, especially with Losman throwing the ball in the only play he knows. Other than that, he no better than a number 2 reciever on most teams.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:42 PM
JPQ, at least it’s only a one year deal. They can drop him if he starts acting up and not have to endure him for the long term both financially or in the locker room. Also, are the bills moving to Canada?
March 7th, 2009 at 7:43 PM
Lee Evans is terrible.
$6.5MM for Owens, fully guaranteed. Nice job, Rosenhaus.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:44 PM
Someone better tell T.O. to be sure he warms up before doing situps in his driveway in Buffalo. With the cold he might pull an abdominal muscle.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:44 PM
They play at some of their home games in Toronto. I think they had a two year deal or some shit.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:44 PM
rosenhaus is like the m.j. of agents.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:44 PM
In honor of Drew, I will now throw on the leatherest jacket I can find.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:45 PM
False.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:45 PM
Rosenhaus owns the Bills. He got them to draft McGahee when his knee was messed up and now this. Does he rep Roscoe Parrish too?
March 7th, 2009 at 7:45 PM
I’m surprised TO and Rosenhaus signed so quickly.
My two cents:
a. 2/3 of the league didn’t go on the record to say no. They said Hell No. There wasn’t much of a market if you believe that, and I do.
b. The sooner he signs, you create the impression that he was in demand. If he told Buffalo no, who knows when the next call was coming?
March 7th, 2009 at 7:45 PM
only 4 mil guaranteed, still a good deal.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:47 PM
Agreed. Hank Baskett is what you’d call “terrible” in terms of WR’s.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:47 PM
Clayton and Florio say otherwise, though they’ve been known to be wrong before.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:48 PM
i still see him running by Eric Smith…bad memories.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:49 PM
if i was a pretty talented football player wirth quickly declining skills who shit on every organization i played with before and i was looking for work rosenhaus would be the guy i would want as my mouth peice. i am surprised teams even bother negotiating with him.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:50 PM
Eric Smith is terrible. Hopefully the guy Leonhard from Baltimore is better. Abram Elam was no Steve Atwater either.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:50 PM
Lee Evans is not terrible. JP Losman is terrible, and Edwards is fair. Evans is all right, not great, but good. Having Josh Reed on the other side is not a real threat and teams just smothered Evans.
$4 million bonus. $2.5 million salary. ALL guaranteed.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:51 PM
Agreed. Hank Baskett is what you’d call “terrible†in terms of WR’s.
Also agreed.
However, Lee Evans is the kind of receiver who will have multiple 1,000 yard seasons. However, 700 of those yards will come in about 3 1/2 games.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:52 PM
my bad. sorry. I read it wrong, damn.
T.O. > Andre Reed
March 7th, 2009 at 7:52 PM
I wasn’t even talking about him as a Jet. I was referring back to college.
March 7th, 2009 at 7:54 PM
Ha. I guess Lee Evans has been dogging him for a while
March 7th, 2009 at 7:56 PM
I agree with this 100%
March 7th, 2009 at 7:57 PM
However, Chad Johnson is the kind of receiver who will have multiple 1,000 yard seasons. However, 700 of those yards will come in about 3 1/2 games.

March 7th, 2009 at 8:00 PM
You know, I always felt that way about LDT. He’ll have shitty games of like 60 yards, then make up for it with like a 230 yard game with 3 or 4 TDs. MVP stats but not really the guy you count on game in, game out.
March 7th, 2009 at 8:01 PM
agree Ruck on Evans and LDT. Evans will vanish for three games, and then have 9 for 150 and 2 TD’s
March 7th, 2009 at 8:01 PM
up until a couple years ago. LdT would have 60 yards in a game, but still put two in the end zone, and another 30-40 yards receiving.
March 7th, 2009 at 8:02 PM
speaking of chad johnson. its like the football gods decided the hall of fame jacket celebration went too far and they have decided to take a giant shit on him. he hasnt really been the same after that idiotic episode.
March 7th, 2009 at 8:04 PM
LDT’s TDs are a bit inflated. They’d have Turner carry it down the field, then sub in LDT on the goal line to get his scores.
March 7th, 2009 at 8:06 PM
maybe like the last year that turner was there but i dont think the previous 9 years he was a goal line back or 3rd down back. ldt was the fucking man.
March 7th, 2009 at 8:07 PM
maybe so. But Tiki would drive the ball down the field, and then Dayne would come in and get stuffed.
March 7th, 2009 at 8:08 PM
The Chargers are kicking themselves in the ass for not keeping Turner and giving up LDT last year.
March 7th, 2009 at 8:09 PM
ldt was the fucking man.
I think he’s a big pussy, myself. Not a big fan
March 7th, 2009 at 8:10 PM
When was this?
Turner averaged about five carries per game when he was with San Diego. During a good year.
March 7th, 2009 at 8:10 PM
Can’t he be a big, talented pussy, kinda like the Jenna Jameson on the NFL?
March 7th, 2009 at 8:11 PM
I used to hate that about Jimmy Smith, fantasy wise. I had him in a keeper league. He’d turn in a shit game against Cleveland, and then you’d bench him the next week because they were playing against the Ravens D. And that was always the week he went for 150 and 3 touchdowns. I once lost a fantasy championship because I benched him because he was playing in -10 and a 30 mph wind at Lambeau. And he caught two touchdowns.

here is a better play by play for the ufc ppv
March 7th, 2009 at 8:20 PM
Before Rivers developed and they started relying more on the passing game, whenever LDT was having an off game, they’d lean on Turner. I’m not saying LDT was/is overrated. I think the Chargers knew he was their their MVP candidate and made sure to keep him happy whether or not he was performing well.

March 7th, 2009 at 8:24 PM
Does he rep Roscoe Parrish too?
I’m almost postive he does. I think he mentioned Roscoe as one of his client’s when he was talking about other players he represented on the Bills.
March 7th, 2009 at 8:26 PM
Jim Harbaugh, now he was the fucking man. Fucking Aaron Bailey, that shit was on your stomach! God damn Steelers.

I have not seen one second of that show since the middle of the 2nd season, whenever that was.
In fact, I watch so little “network” TV, I have no clue what most of the shows are. I watch a little of one, think it sucks, and never go back. I watch cable stuff mostly, and old Law & Order repeats that are on 5 different channels every hour
btw, Rosenhaus represents Parrish, Marcus Stroud, and Drayton Florence (who they signed like two days ago). Also, of course, the infamous former ex-Bill Willis McGahee
March 7th, 2009 at 8:31 PM
Marcus Stroud was a brilliant signing. It’ll be interesting to see how Florence fairs in the Bills’ scheme. Lord knows he sucked a bag of dicks for the Jags this year. Then again, everyone for the Jags but MJD sucked a bag of dicks this year.
March 7th, 2009 at 8:32 PM

It’ll be interesting to see how Florence fairs in the Bills’ scheme. Lord knows he sucked a bag of dicks for the Jags this year.
bsanders: I read on Lombardi’s site earlier this week that it was a case of a guy playing in the wrong “scheme” in Jax, but I have no idea if the Bills “scheme” is better for him, although they said it would allow them to move Whitner to FS, which he is better suited to play. Stroud played great about 6 games, OK for 4, and vanished for 6 (like the rest of the team). Biggest thing they need is a pass rush. they had NONE last year.
March 7th, 2009 at 8:49 PM
To me, everything is so unbelievably fucked up when all you have to do to be on the “celebrity” version of a reality show is–get this–be on a reality show. Kinda blows the entire concept of reality television out the water, if you ever believed in it in the first place

I think it’s a good signing by the Bills. TO will come to camp with a chip on his shoulder and something to prove. I just wish they had someone to throw the ball to him and Evans.
Time to break out the old “Talkin’ Proud” fight song.
