The Billy Packer-Bob Knight Experiment

It’s been written about a couple times in USA Today and the site finally went live about an hour ago: Knight-Packer. It’s got video of the two occasionally-ornery college hoops icons (talking this week about the 30th anniversary of Magic-Bird), a difficult quiz, and even a space for you to ask Packer questions. We highly recommend using the question space – as everyone knows, Packer has a strong opinion about all things college hoops.

Q: Dear Billy:
Has it been difficult living your life with the nickname “Fudge”? How has that nickname, or stigma if you will, changed how your life could have been over the last 45 or so years.
A: That damn nickname cost me a chance to be a great coach. See this guy next to me (point to Knight)? When I was a star at Wake Forest, I knew (and still know) 10 times the basketball that this overrated pile of garbage did while he was sitting on the bench for Ohio State. After my playing days were over, I was ready to be better than Hank Iba, but no school would take me with a nickname like “Fudge”.
I still don’t understand how I got the name though… I don’t ask for help much, but can someone help me out with that?

jerry wainwright was a postseason master at UNCW … anyone know where Mr. Brent (Brett?) Blizzard ended up?

I heard they are doing a show from Vegas during the tournament. I will be there for the Sweet 16/Elite 8 so I think I might stop by and see what’s up.
