Bengals Linebacker Dhani Jones Debuts on Travel Channel
1-liner, NFL, Television March 17th. 2009, 11:30amDhani Jones Tackles the Globe: Watched the first episode on the Travel Channel on Muay Thai fighting last night. Â It’s worth the time investment. Â Jones was fluid, thoughtful and compelling (to be expected from a Michigan man). Â The show was an interesting premise and well shots. Â My only critiques would be to emphasize his spontaneous reactions over his voiceovers and to incorporate more of the culture and history of the sport. Â Looking forward to the Rugby episode. 1 – can’t believe that the Bengals are letting him do this. This has to be more dangerous than riding a motorcycle.
2 – like how the promos do not mention that he is a pro athlete. makes it seem that a somewhat normal civilian is doing this crazy crap. even if this civilian is jacked beyond belief

Damn! Forgot to set the DVR!
I like Dhani. I remember his weekly interviews on FSR and he always came out as intelligent, funny and interesting guy. Shame the Saints got the leftovers the Eagles didn’t use.

unrelated note: Jones is a cool cat. He was frequently on the NYC party scene and i bumped into him a few times and he was always a nice guy. Gave me funny quotes, was friendly, and a real guy’s guy.

What about Tom Brady?

Watched it, enjoyed it. As for the Bengals letting him do this, trust me, he isn’t going to be taking any unnecessary risks if the first show is any indicator. He fought a lard ass with headgear on. The show didn’t put him in a position to get hurt… yet.

He is a sub-par LB anyways. Nice guy, poor football player.

Thanks for posting this spence, all M fans were really worried that you wouldn’t approve of any M grads.
And the only reason Dhani got the job: Clarett wasn’t available…
p.s. I admit to liking Robert Smith (so intelligent he probably should have gone to UM) and Spielman (because he played for my beloved Lions).
And Touchdown Tom Brady rules.
