The Hoops Whisperer
1-liner, NBA March 31st. 2009, 11:00amThe Hoops Whisperer: Upon seeing him, Jason Richardson thought, “‘This dude has no idea about basketball.’ He was a short guy, and when he asked if he could work me out I was like ‘Yeah, whatever.’ The 45-minute session later that evening turned out to be ‘the hardest workout I’ve ever had in my life.” Gilbert Arenas, Carmelo Anthony also Chris Paul use him. Very cool story. If we can get a friend to throw tennis balls at us while we dribble and shoot, we’d like to try some of this stuff. (Wall St. Journal)

I used to do the same stuff when coaching–like I’d give the kids a list of words or numbers to remember, and then in the middle of a workout they’d have to say the list back without stopping. Too bad I didn’t know any pros.
