Celtics 109, Bulls 99: TBL somehow stole Marty’s sports almanac or hitched a ride with Faraday and nailed the exact score of this one. And my inevitable jinx worked, as the game was far from a blowout and much closer than the score would indicate. The Celtics flirted with pulling away for good, and it felt like they were taking control, particularly after holding Chicago to 11 points in the second quarter, but they kept letting the Bulls hang around.

Key moment: With a shade less than 30 seconds to go, and the Bulls down six, Hinrich stole the inbounds pass and kicked it out to Ben Gordon and, for a quick moment, it felt a little like Travis Best’s steal/deflection to Reggie. But Gordon missed, and that was that. Game over.

The Celtics get one day of rest before welcoming the Magic and Dwight Howard’s elbow to town on Tuesday night.
