TBL Late Night: Cavs-Magic, Pens-Hurricanes, Baseball
Baseball, NBA, NHL May 26th. 2009, 6:45pm
Mo Williams guaranteed a Cleveland win. Does Orlando care? Do the refs step in to salvage the LeBron-Kobe final?
The Penguins could not put away Philadelphia or Washington on the first attempt. Will tonight against Carolina be different?
Not a particularly enticing slate of MLB games. I suppose St. Louis-Milwaukee is the best of the bunch. Wainright has allowed two runs in 16 2/3 innings over his last two starts. Suppan is 5-0 with a 1.66 ERA against the Cardinals since he signed up with the Brew Crew.
The painting is A Bar at the Foilies-Bergere by Manet.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

I do her if she cut her bangs.
May 26th, 2009 at 7:09 PM
since this is the last post of the night i will throw this gem out there. i watched at least half of battlefield earth today. how does travolta, barry pepper and forest whitaker still have a career after that movie?
May 26th, 2009 at 7:14 PM
Probably not. Though they should care that David Stern guaranteed a Cleveland win.
/ conspiracy’d
May 26th, 2009 at 7:15 PM
Who the hell is barry pepper?
May 26th, 2009 at 7:15 PM
And that chick is probably covering up some nasty-ass tats. Throw her on the garbage pile.
May 26th, 2009 at 7:16 PM
Anyone got a spare 2.3 million for a piece of pop culture history?

btw, good call on applegate before sparty, meant elisabeh shue…
May 26th, 2009 at 7:19 PM
barry pepper was the sniper in saving private ryan, dale earnheart in 3 and maris in 61*

How is that a gem? You’re serving up very, very old news and repackaging it with bad Grammar.
Here’s that movie, #1 on a list from years ago as the worst sci-fi movie ever – http://listverse.com/entertainment/top-10-worst-science-fiction-movies/
So thanks for your “gem.”
May 26th, 2009 at 7:27 PM
Only if it includes Cameron’s dad’s car and one night with Sloan–no rules….Giggity.

Somebody read this column and tell me you also think this writer sounds like a sniveling bitch.
C’mon. Mjejr is one of our most beloved commenters. I find the dude hilarious.
May 26th, 2009 at 7:31 PM
let’s eliminate the white trash tonight
May 26th, 2009 at 7:41 PM
Tigers-Royals should be decent. Greinke (7-1, 0.82 ERA) vs. Jackson (4-2, 2.55 ERA).
May 26th, 2009 at 7:45 PM
Well he’s from the impressionist school, you know like Monet, Manet, Tippi Tippi Dayday.
May 26th, 2009 at 7:46 PM
Battlefield Earth is must see viewing for any movie fan since you owe it to yourself to see possibly the worst movie ever made (this beats out films like Epic Movie or whatever because it took itself seriously)
May 26th, 2009 at 7:47 PM
Cavs 101, magic 99
I cannot express how badly lebron needs this game. Also, can anyone find the hollinger piece after Orlando signed lewis? I remember him ripping the move. Fodder for next week, perhaps, if Orlando wins
May 26th, 2009 at 7:48 PM
have you seen battlefield earth dirt? anytime someone willingly sits through that i’d say its a gem. and when i read your posts i hear old school penguin’s voice “How is that a gem? maaaaaa” “your have bad grammar! maaaa” seriously dude, why are you so fucking grumpy?
May 26th, 2009 at 7:58 PM
Great column on this LeBron-Kobe finals stuff we’re getting forcefed by the media (news, commercials, etc.).

dont know if its been mentioned but tyson’s daughter died
May 26th, 2009 at 8:08 PM
Damn, sorry for the girl, sorry for Tyson. With that documentary coming out, it seemed like he was in a better place.
May 26th, 2009 at 8:08 PM
that was a great reference and a great article it is to bad the suthor didnt get the reference.
that fucking sucks.
May 26th, 2009 at 8:12 PM
Yes! Penguin was the man. But I picture Dirt as more of a skinny, pursed-lips, patches-on-the-elbows-of-a-blazer, punkass college professor type. Penguin was grumpy, but it was badass grumpy.
May 26th, 2009 at 8:12 PM
I read it at first as a joke about how NBA players have yet to get on board with birth control but upon a second look I think he just missed it
May 26th, 2009 at 8:22 PM
Here’s the article, though you must be an insider.
http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/insider/columns/story?columnist=hollinger_john&id=2924526&action=login&appRedirect=http%3a%2f%2finsider.espn.go.com%2fnba%2finsider%2fcolumns%2fstory%3fcolumnist%3dhollinger_john%26id%3d2924526
Though Hollinger did say one of the downsides of the Lewis signing was having to release Darko(!), I would agree that the contract they gave him was ridiculous.
Writers and pundits do need to realize that the NBA is shrinking and that the PF position especially is becoming more of a preimeter position a la the college game.
May 26th, 2009 at 8:27 PM
Hollinger also often uses irrational analysis in his pieces. I stopped reading him pretty quickly.
May 26th, 2009 at 8:31 PM
if anyomne here has a young kid watching the nba pregame show with you tell your kid that at one time the fat dude all the way to right was once considered top 5 in the nba…maybe even top 2. see “yeah fucking right!” look you get…should be a funny experience for you.
May 26th, 2009 at 8:33 PM
seriously, next season chuck should surprise everyone by getting into great shape. i would hate to lose the most entertaining analyst ever due to a heart-attack or something.
May 26th, 2009 at 8:34 PM
If Stan Van Gundy isn’t dressed as Captain Louis Albano tonight, disappointed won’t even begin to describe it.
May 26th, 2009 at 8:35 PM
mrejr – who are you talking about? I’m not currently watching.
May 26th, 2009 at 8:36 PM
ndub-barkley..they showed him on the bball court trying to shoot the ball and he looked pathetic.
May 26th, 2009 at 8:40 PM
Nevermind. Yeah, Chuck is a big fat funny bastard.
May 26th, 2009 at 8:43 PM
This game is over.
May 26th, 2009 at 8:43 PM
i wonder if he is like a sad clown though…after the nights show will he go back to his condo or hotel and just sigh(or throw someone through a window) and then prepare all day so he can take the fat jokes from ernie, kenny, and reggie?
May 26th, 2009 at 8:48 PM
Oops. Sorry for the delay on that previous msg.
May 26th, 2009 at 8:50 PM
I would venture to guess he cruises around Phoenix with a mean buzz and a hooker slobbing on his knob.
May 26th, 2009 at 8:57 PM
Charles Barkley is a sad clown would make for a good band name…I’m guessing he finds way to enjoy life pretty much all the time though
May 26th, 2009 at 8:59 PM
Anyone see this today? Hope she played the lottery afterwards.
May 26th, 2009 at 9:15 PM
grits n’ gravy says not bad for a first timer, grits is most known for rolling 77 7’s in a row at a casino making him a millionaire in the process. he spent all of his money buying his mom a car and the rest on pcp.
when he leaves come together like butt-cheeks
May 26th, 2009 at 9:22 PM
Is D Ho dominating? I got the live box up. 13 points, 6 boards, 2 blocks.
May 26th, 2009 at 9:26 PM
havent been paying much attention to the game. just glancing over for the score every now and then
May 26th, 2009 at 9:54 PM
SM, LeBron is taking 22 shots a game in the playoffs, as is Kobe. Kobe’s been distributing the ball just fine. If you’ve actually watched the Lakers, you know that he’s created a shitload of wide open shots. Phil Jackson himself has criticized Pau for not getting open and not being active enough when Kobe has the ball – Kobe does just fine getting him the ball, when he’s active.
May 26th, 2009 at 9:56 PM
Why is it so slow here tonight? Everyone still hungover from the weekend? Miss TBL?
We’ve had 200+ posts during many of these playoff games.
May 26th, 2009 at 9:56 PM
Your Anti-Tirico agenda has got to stop!!!!!!!
May 26th, 2009 at 9:57 PM
LeBron’s playing well and the Cavs went on a 23-7 run on some puzzling Orlando magic and finally some outside hits by the Cavs (Daniel Gibson hit two threes).
May 26th, 2009 at 9:58 PM
How sweep it is
May 26th, 2009 at 10:00 PM
plus I’ve got nothing to bitch about because they are calling the game pretty well
May 26th, 2009 at 10:05 PM
What makes me nervous is that the Magic are going to get open threes the entire series, regardless of what the Cavs do defensively. That alone means this series is going 7, even if the Cavs win tonight and Thursday.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:09 PM
Lebron has been terrible on defense.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:09 PM
The magic are shooting themselves in the foot with turnovers and shooting way too many 3’s with the lead.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:10 PM
you know what makes me nervous cursed?
May 26th, 2009 at 10:12 PM
D-Ho certainly has been terrible on defense. I don’t blame LeBron a lot of times b/c of their system..this just happens to be one team that messes up their system.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:13 PM
??
May 26th, 2009 at 10:15 PM
ice cream trucks.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:16 PM
Orlando just looks disinterested in this game.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:16 PM
I don’t. Easy place for me to meet girls.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:17 PM
It’s like The Big Lead Blog on a holiday weekend.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:18 PM
and an easy place to get blown up by a car bomb detonated by terrorists.
/fear monger’d
May 26th, 2009 at 10:19 PM
Cubs just went to rain delay up 6-1 in the top of the 6th. It’s pouring. The streak is OVER!!!
I’ll take the cheap win.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:21 PM
Howard stripped…again. Worst hands in basketball.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:22 PM
I just noticed that every single Cavs player is wearing the L23 shoe. I thought for sure that Zyndrunas (sp?) would have his own shoe line.
Clown shoes.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:23 PM
they still need to trade either derrek lee ,z or ramirez to shake them up a little. complacency is taking that over that team. if they have to fire pinella do that . he has lost his fastball along time ago
May 26th, 2009 at 10:24 PM
What a terrible shot by Mo.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:24 PM
“____ thought he was fouled” would be a great drinking game.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:24 PM
Delonte is sick.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:25 PM
Keep Lou. Keep Aramis.
If you can find someone that wants a 33-year-old-singles-hitting 1B that isn’t a gold glove anymore, I’ll take a bag of balls in return at this point.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:25 PM
If you’re the Magic you don’t want to trade baskets from here on out.
/Doug Collins
May 26th, 2009 at 10:26 PM
Also, DFA Neal Cotts.
HORRIBLE technical foul call.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:27 PM
There’s no way that should be a tecnhical.. no way. Every player all playoffs has celebrated after every shot.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:27 PM
Unless they’re Magic 3s for Cavalier 2s of course.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:28 PM
Patrick Ewing chokes in another playoff game!
May 26th, 2009 at 10:28 PM
That’s pretty weak…he looked at him for half a second
May 26th, 2009 at 10:28 PM
Why doesn’t TNT get levied fines from the FCC for the “Bullshit” chant that’s audible on here.
Yet it happens to Shock jock radio guys (in which no children listen to).
How about..curse words aren’t a big deal.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:29 PM
@Nick or Cursed: Does LBJ have any Ts in the playoffs?
May 26th, 2009 at 10:29 PM
I think if I was Orlando and I get this game in the bag with some time left, I’d just have Dwight go out there and commit a tech foul. That way, at least you know when it’s coming and you’re already up 3-1.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:29 PM
fuckin patrick chewing
May 26th, 2009 at 10:29 PM
I don’t watch much NBA but if the Magic have 4 3 pt shooters on the floor why would you ever double anyone? Make them make a contested two point shot and not give them an open 3 pointer. Seems like the Magic thrive on those looks.
Howard doesn’t exactly have Hakeem Olajuwon moves down there. I would take my chances.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:29 PM
A couple, ruck.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:29 PM
trade lee to ….the pirates! they are always up to get fleeced right? right?
May 26th, 2009 at 10:30 PM
Hey NickP, did they just cancel the baseball game?
May 26th, 2009 at 10:30 PM
I can’t remember one..his taunting is different. It’s quicker and stronger.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:32 PM
@mrejr – I don’t even think the Pirates have a bag of balls to trade. Their only valuable player at this point is McLouth….maybe Matt Capps?
May 26th, 2009 at 10:34 PM
sc: i’d take prospects to give this team a kick in the ass.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:35 PM
Wow LeBron, take worse shots on the road
May 26th, 2009 at 10:35 PM
The Magic played AWFUL in the 3rd quarter and got shafted on a few calls yet they still outscored Cleveland by 7. Does not bode well for the Cavs.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:36 PM
Marv is the best.not even a close second among NBA announcers.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:38 PM
if orlando goes up 3-1 and the cavs comeback then i say the nba is fixed.
/i say it is anyway.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:38 PM
@jersey: Sorry, no clue.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:39 PM
He’s like the Gary Payton and Chris Webber of announcers….wait, that can’t be right.
Seriously, do you think Amhad Rashad goes home to Claire Huxstable and wants to kill himself after a night on the set with those guys?
May 26th, 2009 at 10:39 PM
Time for the lebron show!
Go cavs
(sorry Irish)
May 26th, 2009 at 10:41 PM
Am I allowed to rip Mike Breen and Mike Tirico in one sentence?
May 26th, 2009 at 10:42 PM
From downtown! YES!
May 26th, 2009 at 10:42 PM
How far has boobie Gibson fallen? Where the f is wally?
Feel bad for lbj. Not winning series if down 3-1.
F’ing alston
May 26th, 2009 at 10:43 PM
What the fuck was that arrow? That came out of nowhere.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:45 PM
Lebron u can channel jordan anyday now…..
May 26th, 2009 at 10:45 PM
If the finals are Denver/Orlando, how close does Pittsburgh/Detroit come to matching the ratings?
May 26th, 2009 at 10:45 PM
Who’s the leader for this Orlando team? Not Dwight is it?
May 26th, 2009 at 10:48 PM
Whoa, that ampm guy is that one guy from Breaking Bad.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:48 PM
Honestly, I think Hedo. He seriously is unfazed by anything..he’s laughing in clutch situation right before the ball is entered in play..He’s the guy w/ the ball in his hands when it’s clutch time.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:49 PM
Come to New York, LeBron, we’ll get you a title here.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:49 PM
here is david sterns to do list that he started in 1984:
1: what is this “wrap” music? can i profit off of it
solution: t.i. doing the introductions for the hawks
2:find a way to curtail cocaine use *update* baby mamas*update*”bussin” sags
solution: suits
3: globalization
solution: dirk and nash mvp’s drawback: darko
150: fix reffing(i dont see anything wrong with it but if people say its bad)
solution: nothing too busy airbrushing AI’s tats
May 26th, 2009 at 10:49 PM
Marv claims the building is “rocking”.
What’s the over/under on how many times we hear the PA guy tell the fans to “get loud” for the rest of the game? These fans are weak.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:49 PM
DAG. GER!
May 26th, 2009 at 10:51 PM
i cant wait for Jon and kate plus 4 kids one weekend and 4 kids the next weekend plus summers
May 26th, 2009 at 10:52 PM
I’d buy Hedo as the leader on this team.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:52 PM
Here comes the show
May 26th, 2009 at 10:52 PM
Kevin Harlan.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:53 PM
Explained cavs sitatuon to wife: ” sounds like lebron needs to get on a new team.”
Bwwwwaaaahhhhhhh
May 26th, 2009 at 10:53 PM
Anyone who saw one episode of that show could tell this was going to happen.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:54 PM
Agree
May 26th, 2009 at 10:54 PM
Cleveland should build him a castle. Imagine all these random Chinese tourists just start showing up out of nowhere because of him. I mean, Americans don’t even want to go to Cleveland!
May 26th, 2009 at 10:55 PM
yeah she really beat him down like it was the last temptaion of jon
May 26th, 2009 at 10:56 PM
@Souvenir: I was live for that. I happily missed Harlan’s call.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:56 PM
Last time I rooted this hard for an NBA team: lakers-blazers game 7, 2000
Please win, cavs
May 26th, 2009 at 10:58 PM
Kate is a harpie. I’m sorry for the kids.
Am I the only who’d like to see the Van Gundys cast in a live-action Super Mario Bros. movie? Jeff would have to grow the mustache, but I think there’s some potential there.
May 26th, 2009 at 10:58 PM
Nick – I was so confused by that call when I first heard it. Had no idea what had just happened.
How come we always get inside of Stan’s huddle but never Mike Brown’s?
May 26th, 2009 at 10:59 PM
TBL, you have a little scratch on CLE, or you just want to see Kobe/LeBron?
May 26th, 2009 at 11:00 PM
So, if the Magic pull not only this game, but the series out, is this considered a choke job on the Cavs? I gotta think no. The Magic are talented despite how much of a favorite the Cavs came in.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:00 PM
It’s over, guys. 15 three’s?
Lebron can only do so much. His turnover came against a triple team.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:00 PM
Isn’t TBL a huge Lebron fan?
May 26th, 2009 at 11:01 PM
a triple team.
He’s getting help tonight. Don’t make it seem like he’s not.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:02 PM
No $, just want lbj vs kb24
May 26th, 2009 at 11:02 PM
It’s a three point game with almost three minutes to go. TBL, either you’re trying for a reverse jinx or you don’t have enough “mental toughness”
May 26th, 2009 at 11:02 PM
Nah, the cavs got this TBL. 2-2
May 26th, 2009 at 11:03 PM
I’d like to see him draw up the play where LeBron stands on one side of the court and the other four guys stand on the other side watching him. Do you think he actually draws the thumbs up their asses, or is it just assumed?
May 26th, 2009 at 11:03 PM
Huge miss by alston…game is close to over if he makes that…left the door open for the refs…. Uhhh the cavs
May 26th, 2009 at 11:04 PM
broseph need i remind you that a live action super mario bros movie already happened? it had john leguizamo and bob hoskins in it. it was horrible.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:05 PM
Lebron can only do so much. His turnover came against a triple team.
BWAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Overhyped One needed to break a face to get a foul called on him
May 26th, 2009 at 11:06 PM
Yes, big lebron fan.
Help? Then west hits that 3.
(don’t have stats avail)
Sick dunk
May 26th, 2009 at 11:06 PM
he was hangin
May 26th, 2009 at 11:06 PM
@mrejr
I had no idea. As a kid, I remember there was a TV show which was mainly cartoons, but had two live Bros. introducing each segment. “Take one step, and then again. Let’s do the Mario, ALTOGETHER NOW!”
May 26th, 2009 at 11:07 PM
See! Kevin Harlan would have had a much cooler call for that dunk!
Hack-a-Ho….engaged.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:07 PM
sick dunk
Gimme Three Steps, Give me Three Steps Mister
May 26th, 2009 at 11:07 PM
are talking about obama or lebron?
May 26th, 2009 at 11:08 PM
D West has been gigantic, both sides today. TBL have u been watching?
May 26th, 2009 at 11:08 PM
Great play by West. If only he’d done that earlier instead of blowing a wide-open 3.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:08 PM
I gotta be honest, I can’t tell the difference between Harlan and Marv.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:08 PM
3 steps again by that fuck
May 26th, 2009 at 11:09 PM
le Brick. Is lebron a center?
May 26th, 2009 at 11:09 PM
@broseph i also remember that show.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:09 PM
At what point does one of the refs get knocked unconscious so Stern can bring in his hand-selected replacement?
May 26th, 2009 at 11:10 PM
come on Turk, you can get a better shot than that
May 26th, 2009 at 11:10 PM
Of note: missed first half
F lebron!
May 26th, 2009 at 11:10 PM
TIME OUT SVG!!!!
WTF!!!
May 26th, 2009 at 11:10 PM
take it to the fucking hole!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
May 26th, 2009 at 11:10 PM
Man, Orlando is literally just chucking the last 4 minutes of the game away.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:10 PM
should have been a loose ball on Howard IMO
May 26th, 2009 at 11:11 PM
6 seconds left. Will the Turkish Assassin get his payback?
May 26th, 2009 at 11:11 PM
If michael Jordan of turkey hits gw shot ….
May 26th, 2009 at 11:12 PM
magic have closed this game awful…nothing near the rim…someone get to the rim
May 26th, 2009 at 11:12 PM
I bet SVG makes the poor call of going to the hot hand and Alston is option A…B, and C.
Please, please, please, please let Hedo get the shot.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:12 PM
Earl Hebner is waiting in the back for his cue.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:12 PM
Who’s going to take the stupid foul?
May 26th, 2009 at 11:13 PM
too many timeouts in basketball, really.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:15 PM
Lewis on a bitch!!!!
May 26th, 2009 at 11:15 PM
HUGE!!!! LEWIS!!!
May 26th, 2009 at 11:15 PM
lewis!!!!!
May 26th, 2009 at 11:15 PM
Who the hell was that guy in the gold jacket?
May 26th, 2009 at 11:15 PM
Great shot…but why so early in the clock? The King has too much time.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:15 PM
Wonderful.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:15 PM
Wow, why the hell do they leave time for Amazing to happen? You’d think Orlando would’ve learned their lesson by now.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:15 PM
Lebron will get a chance at a redux
May 26th, 2009 at 11:16 PM
ONIONS!!
May 26th, 2009 at 11:16 PM
lewis just told john hollinger to go get fucked!
May 26th, 2009 at 11:16 PM
Let’s see what SVG has learned from G2.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:16 PM
Left too much time. Here comes the dagger. im going Delonte with the 3
May 26th, 2009 at 11:16 PM
four seconds left, If lebron hits a game winner here, then we can talk about Jordan level…
May 26th, 2009 at 11:17 PM
Great moving screen by Howard to get Lewis open… And typical. Orlando makes another fucking 3. It just gets more ridiculous.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:17 PM
Foul the King if he even touches the ball?
May 26th, 2009 at 11:18 PM
Bailout! He’ll miss, tho
May 26th, 2009 at 11:18 PM
unreal…totally bs on that call.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:18 PM
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?
LeBron threw an elbow!
May 26th, 2009 at 11:18 PM
how was that a foul???????????
May 26th, 2009 at 11:18 PM
here we go.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:18 PM
Wow.
The fix is in.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:18 PM
GAG A RAMA COMING
May 26th, 2009 at 11:18 PM
LEBRON! DOING WHAT HE DOES BEST!
May 26th, 2009 at 11:18 PM
Choke time?
May 26th, 2009 at 11:19 PM
wowwwwww
May 26th, 2009 at 11:19 PM

May 26th, 2009 at 11:19 PM
WOW. THAT WAS BS!
May 26th, 2009 at 11:19 PM
where bullrushing into your opponent for a tie happens. that was a bullshit call
May 26th, 2009 at 11:19 PM
skin of his chinny chin chin.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:20 PM
They need Derek Fisher here…
May 26th, 2009 at 11:20 PM
movie-level roll on that shot. seemed like it was in slo-mo.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:20 PM
Would have been great if LBJ misses and AV tips it in—he PLANNED it.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:20 PM
Stern put that one in personally.
Utter bullshit. A travel, if anything.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:20 PM
Weak, weak end to regulation.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:20 PM
How is it BS? Is it different rules for the 260 lb guy? Pietrus jumped into him… Not much different than the play Mo Williams got called for a foul that earned him 5 stitches… And that was a foul on Mo too…
May 26th, 2009 at 11:21 PM
wow
May 26th, 2009 at 11:21 PM
So, the officiating is a self-parody now.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:21 PM
that was MUCH more of a foul than what LeBron got. Fucking amazing.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:21 PM
lebron gets a bullshit foul, but none on that?? really?
the NBA sucks.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:21 PM
NBA refs have been a joke for at least 20 years.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:22 PM
Whew. Move over bulls-celtics…
May 26th, 2009 at 11:22 PM
Dwight was all over AV’s arm, dragging him to the ground. This should be over with Varejao freebies.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:22 PM
Really?
May 26th, 2009 at 11:23 PM
NBA is a joke.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:23 PM
I don’t think Howard should have got a foul call there. But, I mean, I understand wanting one after the Lebron bullshit just seconds over.
Will be an absolute joke if the Cavaliers win this.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:23 PM
What? No foul on Howard for pulling Varejao with him? Andy should have been on the line…
May 26th, 2009 at 11:23 PM
[Gravatar image]
mmmm, your homerism is tasty. So he didn’t try to run into Petrus, nearly whiffed on the contact and fell down?
May 26th, 2009 at 11:24 PM
The NBA doesn’t know what it just did to itself.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:24 PM
Garbage. I don’t even want to watch the OT since the outcome has already been written.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:24 PM
Gay.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:24 PM
congrats on the title cavs fans…to get neither of 2 fairly obvious calls go your way…I’m sure Howard fouls out 29 seconds in
May 26th, 2009 at 11:24 PM
that was a foul on Howard..
May 26th, 2009 at 11:25 PM
No comment on pieteus foul. Let’s enjoy ot….
May 26th, 2009 at 11:26 PM
Or you can say that he tried to avoid the foul but Pietrus ran into him to prevent a layup.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:27 PM
YES!! IN DE FACE!
May 26th, 2009 at 11:27 PM
Howard got hit 3 times and still scored
May 26th, 2009 at 11:27 PM
Yeah, you could say that, but it’d be a lie.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:27 PM
No way TBL. They’re about 6 OTs short of that series.
Howard is on a mission here in OT. Nice post ups.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:28 PM
yeah but in peirtrus didn’t touch him
May 26th, 2009 at 11:28 PM
If you want to be called a fibber, you can.
Howard is now unstoppable.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:28 PM
These comments are hilarious.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:28 PM
surprised that Lebron didn’t yell “And 1″ after that three. Probably would get the whistle.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:29 PM
I’d love to see Howard just completely immasculate Varajao here
May 26th, 2009 at 11:29 PM
Will they T up fucking Sideshow already!
May 26th, 2009 at 11:29 PM
I want to pull Justin Guarini’s hair out by the chunk
May 26th, 2009 at 11:29 PM
That was not a fould on AV…god the refs have had a rough go this season.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:29 PM
Weird call on Varaejo.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:29 PM
why no tech there? Howard got one earlier in the series for jumping around the refs like that
May 26th, 2009 at 11:29 PM
Haven’t seen as much of the series as I would have like but the Orlando 4-1 set is beastly.
Will it be copied?
May 26th, 2009 at 11:30 PM
What? a call on ME?????????????????
May 26th, 2009 at 11:30 PM
AIRBALL! AIRBALL! AIRBALL!
May 26th, 2009 at 11:30 PM
what was that call?
May 26th, 2009 at 11:31 PM
@Jeff: You know he got his for taunting, which AV was not doing.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:31 PM
Damn this got ugly.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:31 PM
that. was. goaltending.
the. refs. suck.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:31 PM
D-HO ON A BITCH!!!!!!!!!
May 26th, 2009 at 11:31 PM
I’ve never seen LeBron play this poorly in crunch time. Also, did Hedo take 4 steps or did it just look like it.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:32 PM
Ok….Hedo travelled….
This officiating is horrendous.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:32 PM
Nice goaltend… Are the conspiracy theorists happy now?
May 26th, 2009 at 11:32 PM
Over. 17 triples? Jordans teams couldn’t beat that.
Can only hope Orlando shooters go cold in game 5,6,7 …
May 26th, 2009 at 11:33 PM
Come on NICKP and CURSED, talk about that finisher
May 26th, 2009 at 11:33 PM
hahaha where has spence been? hahahahahha fuck espn fuck vitamin water fuck tnt
May 26th, 2009 at 11:33 PM
Either was HOward…he had the same scowl LeBron does after every dribble.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:33 PM
the NBA wants that Cavs-Nugs match-up
May 26th, 2009 at 11:34 PM
mrejr you forgot to say “fuck 1/2 of nike’s MVP puppets”
May 26th, 2009 at 11:34 PM
See, this shit is so weak. Not even a Cavs fan can say that was a foul.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:34 PM
This is great. NBA refs stink on everything.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:35 PM
can Orlando snatch defeat from the jaws of victory yet again?
May 26th, 2009 at 11:35 PM
I’m talking about an earlier game nick…not the one tonight
May 26th, 2009 at 11:36 PM
D-Ho with a post move!!!!!
May 26th, 2009 at 11:36 PM
you know he’s missing at least one of these.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:36 PM
Well, LBJ is hitting his FTs. Step in the right direction for you Cavs fans.
Can Dwight match?
May 26th, 2009 at 11:36 PM
ESPN CLassic does. It worked so well for their programming when the Browns and the Broncos were matched up.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:37 PM
WOW…
May 26th, 2009 at 11:37 PM
Unreal. Bricklayer finally figures out how to shoot free throws. Never fails.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:37 PM
clutch free throws from the big guy. Shaq would’ve bricked.
Howard > Shaq
May 26th, 2009 at 11:38 PM
Bron 4 point play.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:39 PM
The Magic could really use a legit closer. They’re like Mitch Williams.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:39 PM
You mean can the refs give the Cavs another win?
May 26th, 2009 at 11:39 PM
Dwight has been a man in this OT.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:39 PM
D-Ho has had a masterful OT.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:39 PM
JJ Redick looks like Hal Sparks
May 26th, 2009 at 11:40 PM
He’s baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!
May 26th, 2009 at 11:40 PM
50/50 shot ref pump fakes and hands to lebron once howard is in the air here?
May 26th, 2009 at 11:40 PM
Anyone else wish Kobe AND LeBron would just disappear?
May 26th, 2009 at 11:40 PM
this song will take cavs fans into the night.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:40 PM
HOW ABOUT THAT FAGGOT LEBRON? Thinks he can ball
May 26th, 2009 at 11:41 PM
good no call by the refs. I’m VERY surprised.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:41 PM
Nice to see you changed your avatar, howard. Glad you could find another bandwagon to jump on.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:41 PM
That wasn’t a foul… Neither was the one on the Turk in game 2 either…
May 26th, 2009 at 11:43 PM
mrejr if I was in a rap video, I’d be the guy in the straight-brimmed hat. Of course I’d have to uncurve one of my hats, but I think that’s the easiest role in a rap video.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:43 PM
Is reggie miller circa 94 around?
May 26th, 2009 at 11:43 PM
nah, I like the puppets. I just wish sports hyperbole would go away.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:43 PM
Did I ever tell you about the time Kipliski took me out to go get a drink with him? We go off looking for a bar and we can’t find one. Finally Kipliski takes me to a vacant lot and says, ‘Here we are.’ We sat there for a year and a half-until sure enough, someone constructs a bar around us. Well, the day they opened we ordered a shot, drank it, and then burned the place to the ground. Kipliski yelled over the roar of the flames, ‘Always leave things the way you found ‘em’
May 26th, 2009 at 11:43 PM
Please stop ruining the Internet.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:44 PM
Ilgauskas looks like he could drop dead at any moment. Someone toss that guy a vitamin C.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:44 PM
Holy crap.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:44 PM

May 26th, 2009 at 11:44 PM
Oh buddddddday.
That 3 made this REAL interesting.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:45 PM
THAT was impressive. I’ll give it up to him there
May 26th, 2009 at 11:45 PM
Stop teasing us lbj…
May 26th, 2009 at 11:45 PM
Things just got interesting.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:45 PM

May 26th, 2009 at 11:45 PM
True story.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:46 PM
Hilarious.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:46 PM
I thought he was going to make that shot. I really did.
Damn good game despite the refs.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:46 PM
Wow. Orlando fucking loves to step on their own sack.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:47 PM
I gotta admit. I actually thought that desperation shot was going in….
3-1. Ovah.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:47 PM
wow. what a game
May 26th, 2009 at 11:47 PM
Just enough time to go get a Frosty. G’night gang.

May 26th, 2009 at 11:48 PM

May 26th, 2009 at 11:48 PM
I think someone needs a hug right now.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:48 PM
mre, you just ripped off one of Chuck Norris’ best stories. He will find you, and you will get a roundhouse kick to the face.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:49 PM
Does 100k actually weigh 10 pounds?
May 26th, 2009 at 11:49 PM
This just in: Dwight says they gotta fight.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:50 PM
SA > CN
May 26th, 2009 at 11:50 PM
Super gay.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:50 PM
Great comment. By the way, shouldn’t you be sucking dick for minor league baseball press passes?
May 26th, 2009 at 11:51 PM
You’d think Dwight Howard would be happy, or at least crack a smile, about having Cleveland on the ropes, 3-1. But that dude looks focused. In fact, I’d say he’s pissed off and ready to finish this series.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:51 PM
Honestly, can’t complain. Orlando is playing out of their minds.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:51 PM
/really really Hoping series isn’t over, even tho it is
!&$@?#* (bitter)
May 26th, 2009 at 11:51 PM
@Mak: That’s a Brasky, actually.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:51 PM
It’s actually a Bill Brasky story.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:52 PM
This makes perfect sense, not the cavs can look that much more awesome with their 4-3 victory.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:53 PM
I guess things don’t pick up until the second half.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:53 PM
2pt overtime loss when the home team hits 17 threes?
tbl: I think it’s a little too late for the Cavs to look for a moral victory at this point
May 26th, 2009 at 11:53 PM
Orlando doesn’t get Howard for the next game right? Or do I just have dumb friends who don’t know shit?
May 26th, 2009 at 11:54 PM
We’ve had 200+ posts during many of these playoff games.
I guess things don’t pick up until the second half.
That’s When Amazing Happens
May 26th, 2009 at 11:54 PM
Someone is upset about the loss and the fact that he is a 30-year old with a website that gets no recognition.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:55 PM
Howard has 6 techs, 7 and you get suspended.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:55 PM
JPQ – Funny how I don’t check this post until a few minutes after I posted that. Now we’re over 300.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:56 PM
and @ you Ruckmaker
May 26th, 2009 at 11:56 PM
I hate so much about the things you choose to be.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:56 PM
He only has 6. but they will review it and he’ll be back down to 5.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:57 PM
I’m 30? News to me.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:57 PM
So how does this one play out? Cavs win big at home? Then, refs hand them Game 6 and in doing so, T up Howard so he misses game 7?
May 26th, 2009 at 11:57 PM
“They un playing well” — Barkley
May 26th, 2009 at 11:59 PM
Mike Brown’s facial expressions are killing me.
May 26th, 2009 at 11:59 PM
I know it was a weak tech, but by definition, he was taunting.

West and Williams have to start hitting some 3s.
May 27th, 2009 at 12:02 AM
I think he’s speaking in the 3rd person here, Nick. As far as I can see, there’s no comments on anything written on his blog.
May 27th, 2009 at 12:02 AM
He could at least say “it feels good going to the next round”
/T-Mac’d
May 27th, 2009 at 12:03 AM
He didn’t taunt anyone, he got excited about the play. That is still allowed.
May 27th, 2009 at 12:03 AM
It’s also a blatant ripoff of TBL.
May 27th, 2009 at 12:03 AM
Mike Brown’s facial expressions are killing me.
I have NO ability to take anyone who wears those douchbaggy glasses seriously. From Sarah Palin to Jaws to Stuart Scott (alright he needs something to cover up what’s going on behind them) to this guy, it always looks like some stupid idiot trying to play dress-up, especially on guys

Andy “Thunderheart” Kapliski can palm a medicine ball
May 27th, 2009 at 12:10 AM
I love how SVG praises Lebron forever. Makes his team look that better when they win.
May 27th, 2009 at 12:10 AM
methinks howardryan regrets his decision to give nickp shit.
May 27th, 2009 at 12:13 AM
I honestly didn’t know that they made douchebags so young.
May 27th, 2009 at 12:13 AM
Indubitably.
/Learned how to spell that word the other day, very excited to use it.
May 27th, 2009 at 12:13 AM
Mike Brown: “If we give the same effort and focus as we did tonight, I think we’ll be fine. I really do.”
Stan Van Gundy: “Yeah, we won, but I’m beyond ‘mildly disappointed’ with our defensive effort, especially in the first half.”
I’m starting to see why this series is 3-1.
May 27th, 2009 at 12:13 AM
I feel that this story is amazing and deserves even more love. Just plain hilarious; well played mrejr, well played.
May 27th, 2009 at 12:15 AM
Mo looks simply shell-shocked.
May 27th, 2009 at 12:16 AM
lebron is currently unavailable for a postgame comment because he is online ordering more talcum powder.
May 27th, 2009 at 12:16 AM
Nick – You going to game 5?
I gotta think that the Cavs win that one.
May 27th, 2009 at 12:17 AM
He didn’t make it up. He took it from someone else, The bitch ain’t that clever.
May 27th, 2009 at 12:19 AM
The character of Johnny Appleseed was based on Kapliski, except for the part about planting apple trees and not raping men.
May 27th, 2009 at 12:19 AM
ok thunderheart. keep up the good work.
May 27th, 2009 at 12:20 AM
Seeing Jose Canseco get his ass stomped in an MMA fight almost makes me want to start paying attention to Ultimate Fighting.
May 27th, 2009 at 12:45 AM
Hey Cavs,
Your sixth men came up a little short tonight with thier officiating. Tell them to be more productive for you in game 5, which I’m sure they will for the sake of Stern’s sanity.
