The first time Mike Brown faced Urijah Faber, he shocked the world – or at least my living room. Brown knocked out the champ and took his belt. Now Mike Brown is the champion. He’s the biggest little man you’ll ever see. He could seemingly punch through a concrete wall. He’s like a tiny little Superman.

Urijah Faber on the other hand is a former champion trying to get his belt back. The best part abour watching Urijah is that he seemingly does something you’ve never seen every time he fights. When Brown knocked him out, it was because he tried a wild spinning back fist and spun right into Brown’s fist. It sent him flying to the mat. (See diagram, right)

Tonight will either be Faber’s redemption, or Brown’s affirmation. I’m hoping it’s the former.

The rest of the card is promising as well. The first fight will feature the always-exciting Jens Pulver. The former UFC Lightweight champion has lost 5 of his last 6 fights – including 3 straight – but he’s constantly involved in exciting and entertaining ass-kickings. He’ll take on 12-1 Josh Grispi.

The other two matches scheduled for face time on Versus this evening are Jose Aldo vs Cub Swanson and Donald Cerrone vs. James Krause. Make sure to set the DVR, you wouldn’t want to miss the big game tonight.

There’s also a full undercard that will probably never see the light of day.

  • Mike Campbell vs. Anthony Pettis
