How Have White Lottery Picks Fared in the Last 20 Years?
1-liner, NBA Draft June 26th. 2009, 1:00pmNBA Lottery History: Here’s an in-depth study on how white guys who have been drafted in the lottery in the past 20 years have fared in the NBA. Form your own conclusions. And yes, emailers, we know – the Pacers can now roll out an all-white lineup with Hansbrough. Foster, Murphy and Hansbrough up front; Dunleavy and Diener in the backcourt. Have no qualms with the Hansbrough pick. Though we poked much fun at Psycho T during his UNC days, we’re rooting for him in the League. Wouldn’t surprise us if he had at least two seasons where he averaged a double-double. [Ballin' is a Habit]

Hansbrough will have a decent NBA career…much like a Craig Krenzel NFL career.
How many “That’s Racist” tags is this going to end up with before it’s all said and done…?

He will be a much better pro than people think. How could he be worse than kevin love? He’s very quick. I’m thinking Tom Chambers

You can do worse than nearly averaging a double double. And having the best outlet passes, LOL.
/damn you for making me defend this a-hole.

I understand people hating Hansbrough but this has been just unfair. The guy has been labeled as “probably closer to 6′ 7″, “short armed”, “nonathletic” and “slow”.
The draft demonstrated ALL of those to be wrong. The guy jumps as high as Jrue Holiday, and Tyreke Evans, is faster than Derozan, Earl Clark, Jordan Hill, his height measured out at 6′ 9.5″ with shoes and his wing span and standing reach were better than Blake Griffins at 6′ 11.5″ and 8′ 10″ respectively. In short he is comparable athletically (even if he does measure out SLIGHTLY short) to even the “athletic freaks” in this draft.

Don’t forget about Josh McRoberts and Rasho Nesterovic (sort of).

Why does everyone assume he’s going to average a double double or be some sort of rebounding prodigy? The dude averaged more than 10 rebounds once in his college career, despite playing a ton of minutes (averaged at or over 30 his entire career)
And he’s absolutely nothing like Tom Chambers. Not even close.
