Arland Bruce Is The CFL’s Ocho Cinco
Canada!, Video July 2nd. 2009, 4:30pm
If you’ve never heard of Arland Bruce III – I didn’t think I had either – he’s a wide receiver for the Tornoto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League. (He’s also Isaac Bruces’ cousin) But don’t let his jock status define him. Bruce is also an artist – a performer, if you will. His art is not football as you might guess – it is the celebration. Last night he celebrated with a touching tribute to the fallen King of Pop. Watch as he takes off his helmet and pads and pretends to be dead.
Subtle.
Playing dead cost him 2 objectionable conduct penalties. He calls it a tribute and I might have believed him except this isn’t the first time Arland Bruce has made the rounds in the blogosphere. Last season he celebrated a touchdown by putting on a Spiderman mask.
Timely.
This also warranted an “objectionable conduct” penalty. Maybe those Canadians should just calm down. Let Arland Bruce be Arland Bruce. You can’t cage the sun.

OK, so he laid down and pretended to be dead. How, in any way besides that MJ is dead, does that directly pay tribute to Michael Jackson?
He did nothing Michael Jackson related. He didn’t moon walk or grab his balls or force an 8-year-old boy in the front row to fellate him.
So couldn’t he be paying tribute to Billy Mays or Karl Mulden?

Great. Now ESPN will talk about Canadian Football for the first time since Rocket Ismail went there.

Those are the 2 worst celebrations I have ever seen. They already kicked-off by the time he pulled off his Spidey undies and put them on his head…
His QB should never throw him the ball ever again.

Sure looked like a tribute to Ed McMahon if you asked me.
