If we had the previous system, we never would’ve seen Texas/USC.

I’d give one great year up for many assured years of BCS bullshit for sure Clown. Back to the old system until we figure out something better I say.

that stated, either under the current system, or the old system, just take the winners of the bcs bowl games and have a four-team playoff. three games over two weeks.

Under the OLD system yes. Under the NEW system no way, as the invites to the bowl games themselves are more dubious than ever.
Otherwise just have two of the BCS games for the playoff for the national championship game the next week or so between the two winners.

Since I know you’ll check back later, I’m in favor of a seeded 4 team playoff, which I guess some call a plus one. I think that’s as fair as we’re going to get.

this is all so simple. i remember the old system and i’ll take the bcs over the old system any day. that stated, either under the current system, or the old system, just take the winners of the bcs bowl games and have a four-team playoff. three games over two weeks.

what the f’ is so wrong with that?

that’s as close as we’ll ever get to a playoff and to be honest, i’d rather not have a playoff. love how one loss can doom an entire season. you have to bring it each week. so games off.

I am a college ball purist in that the old way was not perfect but certainly better than what we have right now, including even having ties for better finishes instead of teams being credited the same for overtime wins and losses.

Pam Ward gets the DIII Championship game every year and every year I want to punch my TV when she welcomes me to the Stagg Bowl coverage. I’d rather listen to a ESPN first timer than Ward and it has nothing to do with her being a woman. She is just way below par.
