ESPN Juggles Its College Football Announcers
1-liner, College Football, ESPN, Media Gossip/Musings July 10th. 2009, 11:45amESPN: The WWL’s PR department sent out a press release yesterday chronicling the changes to the network’s college football announcing teams. Two highlights: “Brad Nessler, who called top games on ABC last year, will work ESPN Saturday prime time telecasts (primarily at 7:45 p.m. ET) with analyst Todd Blackledge and reporter Erin Andrews, who adds the Saturday game to her ESPN Thursday night series role … Analysts Bob Griese and Chris Spielman will join Dave Pasch on the Saturday noon telecast on ESPN. Last year, Spielman called select Friday and Saturday games while Bob Griese worked Saturday games on ABC.” [CGB]

I hope they are not putting Ron Franklin out to pasture.
It’s really hard to find reasons to actually watch ESPN anymore…

i came that conclusion a few years ago. with the exception of college football, i swear to you i watch the food network more.
to chase away a sportsaholic like me, you really gotta try. and they did.
i’m guessing bob griese wanted to pull back on his schedule? i always thought he did a fine job. though he and nessler worked very well together.

I dont know what this means, so ESPN is filming SEC games but they are just being shown locally over the air, not on espn? (btw, enjoy Andre SEC fans, his ability to confuse and contradict is unmatched).
I didn’t see anything on Pam Ward, I guess she’s still doing noon b10?

Just keep Mark May off the TV and I’ll be happy.

If Nessler is going to the Saturday primetime game where does this put Mike Patrick? He and Blackledge were the tandem the past few years, correct?

“Jesse Palmer will add Saturday studio analysis”, are Doug Flutie or Craig James getting the boot or are they adding another layer of stupid the the already horrible Sat ABC crew?

I’m with ya, jimmy. If anything, MNF, and maybe an occasional PTI. That’s about it.

Doesn’t this CGB guy comment here, this article answers nothing (and for the record I liked seeing what Todd Blackledge ate).

Any word on Pam Ward?
Hopefully they won’t let Doug Flutie do any more Boston College games

Dave Pasch is the only one of the names who should have been thrown off that ESPN bus, and then it should be backed up over him at least once if he says anything. What a douche!
